– the 4-Hour Uncut version in the presence of the Kapoor brothers - Randhir
Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor & Rajiv Kapoor along with Russian actress from ‘Mera
Naam Joker’, Ms. Kseniya Ryabinkina and Mr. Svetlana Roshchenko, Director,
International Cultural Relations Association, Moscow. Shemaroo Entertainment
Ltd will soon launch the Special version on Blu-Ray.
MERA NAAM JOKER, when released in 1970 was more than 4
hours long with 2 intervals. The 3 chapters of the movie were divided into 3
Acts separated by 2 Intervals. But the film did not do well on release and was
trimmed to 3 hours to suit the distributors & exhibitors’ requirements.
Years later, MERA NAAM JOKER has achieved a cult status and is considered one
of the Classic films of Bollywood. There is a lot of demand among movie buffs
to see the entire 4-hour uncut version. Shemaroo has made efforts to fulfil this
demand and will soon be releasing the Audio-Video Digitally restored 4-hour
uncut version of MERA NAAM JOKER on Blu-Ray discs & a 2-Dvd Collectors’
Edition pack.
