Winning
the National Award is a dream come true for any member of the Indian Film
Industry, and so was it for the debutant feature film producer Rashmi Sharma.
Under
the banner of Rashmi Sharma Films, Rashmi marked her debut production with the
blockbuster film, Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘PINK’. The film garnered tremendous
accolades for its strong subject and phenomenal performances. It also won
various awards, but the most precious one was the National Film Award for Films
on Social Issues. Rashmi shares “Winning the National award is always a matter
of pride and honour presented the award to Rashmi. It is more so for me because
it came for my debut production Pink that won the best film on social issues.
We were trying to portray a message through the film, which was accepted by the
society at large. No means no became an anthem and today when I look back at
the making I feel an extreme sense of emotion towards this project. It is
indeed an honour to have received this recognition for a film so close to my
heart.”
