Despacito Music Video crosses 2 billion Views

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s song ‘Despacito’ crosses the 2 billionth mark on YouTube and becomes the fastest song ever to cross that mark. In just 154 days the music video reached the two billion mark and its previous record holder was Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’ which gained two billion views in 394 days.The song has been appreciated and loved my millions across the world so it comes as no surprise that it is the quickest to cross two billion views. Earlier, Despacito was the second fastest song to cross 1 billion views in 97 days following Adele’s ‘Hello’ which crossed one billion views in 87 days. ‘Despacito’ which means slowly in Spanish has been breaking records worldwide and has also been a smashing hit for a bilingual song. Previously, the song had topped the Billboard charts for four consecutive weeks making it the second bilingual song after ‘Macarena’ in 1996 to top the charts for such a long period of time! The Music was filmed in Puerto Rico and its Remix audio featuring Justin Bieber which is currently on the Billboard 100 charts for the fifth consecutive week also broke a milestone on YouTube of being the biggest musical debut of 2017 so far with collecting more than  20 million views in just 24 hours.Despacito is also the fastest Most Viewed Vevo video to cross the 2 billionth mark. In a list of the most viewed YouTube Videos,  the song is currently at number 9 in the list and at the number 8 spot on the list of the Most Viewed VEVO Music video. With its 2,040,000 certified sales plus track-equivalent streams, "Despacito" is one of the best-selling Latin singles in the United States.
