Shraddha
Kapoor, who has mostly played the girl next door, will be seen essaying a dark
role for the very first time in Apoorva Lakhia’s upcoming film ‘Haseena
Parkar’, which is based on the life of dreaded don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister
Haseena Parkar and the teaser of the film was revealed today.
The
teaser, featuring Shraddha Kapoor and her brother Siddhanth Kapoor, who plays
Dawood Ibrahim, offers a glimpse into the life of Haseena Parkar, who had lived
a normal family life before her husband was gunned down by men from Arun
Gawli’s gang, which prompted her to step up and be a part of the notorious
‘D-Company’ and eventually become the ‘Godmother’ of Nagpada. The teaser makes
it evident that the film has been shot well and the background score is quite
chilling, reminding us of Ram Gopal Varma’s cult gangland flicks like ‘Satya’,
‘Company’ and ‘Sarkar’. Also, Shraddha is impressively sinister as Haseena and
the fact that she has got some badass dialogues like, “Aapa yaad reh gaya na…
naam yaad rakhne ki zaroorat nahi”, has made us all the more eager to watch
this movie.
Directed
by Apoorva Lakhia, ‘Haseena Parkar’, which stars Shraddha’s brother Siddhanth
Kapoor as Dawood Ibrahim, is being presented by Swiss Entertainment and has
been produced by Nahid Khan.‘Haseena Parkar’ is slated to release on August 18.
