Jugalbandi of live singing and scintillating Bruna Abdullah's ramp walk scorches the capital city



     1st time live singing and fashion walk kick off together on the runway 

Glitz, glamour and razzmatazz. It was all about high fashion and up style sensibilities. Recently Bruna Abdullah, famous for Grand Masti, Bollywood movie, looked stunning as she flaunted the gorgeous ensemble of Amaavi by Khushbu Davary at Asia Lifestyle Week. Raising the mercury level of the capital city, the event was all about haute couture. It was an interesting gig where the singer Zubin sang and the stunning beauty Bruna Abdullah walked the ramp. It was 1st time live singing and fashion walk together on the runway.

Asia Lifestyle Week presented by Thomsen showcased a three-day lifestyle extravaganza in Delhi on March 16-17-18, 2019 at DLF Place Saket, New Delhi. While the first two days displayed exhibition the last day witnessed gala fashion show.  With the theme of Fashion, Culture and Lifestyle the event was a one stop platform for all your sensibilities. The designers  showcased different hues and shades of spring. They promoted varieties of culture and tradition of Asia.

Amaavi by Khushbu Davaray showcased journey from darkness to light. The collection of Singapore fame Evanna by Vandana Talwar was all about free spirit. It featured lightweight silhouettes in satin, silk satin, georgette, chiffon and fine silks that are perfect for a summer wardrobe. Kiki Diva by Mayura displayed only combed and organic yarn. Tina Ranka showed bright colours beautiful embroidery, stones and drapes that make outfits more classy and wearable. Adi by Aditya Khandelwl was an amalgamation of creative bursts of innovation and design to assemble a niche high end collection appealing to the masses that are on the lookout for style statement masterpieces. Rosy Ahluwalia showcased on the theme of sufi and displaying ensemble in white. Ashfaque Ahmad showcased at the Grand Finale section displaying high end couture with perfect hand work and embroidery.


Asia Lifestyle Week is a new generation Fashion and Lifestyle event, conceived and conceptualised to showcase the opulent and inspired rich Asian culture. It aims to align the aesthetically perfect regional fashion and lifestyle scenario with the global trends to ensure greater outreach to designers and brands. The event is organised by Asia Lifestyle Week, Celebshine India and Stratton Leo Communication.

Also, Thomsen Germany will be showcasing the entire range of their products: pillows and mattress at the exhibition. Talking about the display, Yashwant Pratap Singh, Country Head (India), Thomsen, says, "For the first time we exhibited the entire range of Thomsen products in India. This was a great opportunity to meet and greet our prospective dealers and buyers. This was a great platform for cross vertical promotion as well."

The organiser, Celebshine, is all kicked up for the event. Speaking about the event, Gargi Sharma, Celebshine, says, "We have introduced the season of fashion and glamour with Asia Lifestyle Week. While the exhibition exhibited the best of latest trends in the lifestyle industry,  different designers showcased their latest collection on the ramp."

Bollywood Casting Director Dinesh Soi and Tv Host Karan Singh Chhabra announce Mr and miss Mumbai 2019



Abhay misra and Rutvi Singh were announced as winners of Mr and Miss Mumbai 2019 .  The event held at a posh venue of Andheri West was judged by Bollywood Casting director Dinesh Soi ,  Mrs Sonia Malhotra Soi and  TV host Karan Singh Chhabra.

The pageant saw 15 contestants competing for the coveted title which had various rounds such as Introduction, traditional , western , talent and question answer .

On being asked , Mr Dinesh Soi said "As a casting director I always look for new faces and judging such pageants definitely helps us find fresh talent" .

 Also in the jury panel was international chat show host Karan
Singh Chhabra who mentioned "I remember how I started my journey with one such pageant in New Delhi which gave me the boost to face live audience and camera and the rest is history"

Abhay misra and Rutvi Singh both are residents of Mumbai and want to explore their career in Bollywood and TV.

Hidesign joins hands with Pondicherry Heritage Festival (PHF) 2019



Pondicherry:Hidesign announces it partnership with one of the city’s most prestigious events, the Pondicherry Heritage Festival 2019. In its 5th edition, the festival will be held in Pondicherry from 27th January to 11th February 2019.

After Katrina, Taapsee Pannu replaces Kangana for a leading brand

THAKUR ANOOP SINGH ROARS THE ‘KHADINARRA’ FOR DESIGNER RASSHMI SOLANKII AT IIFW


India Intimate Fashion Week Season 2 concluded in Mumbai on April 22, 2018 with a grand fashion show by ace designer Rasshmi Solankii whose collection ‘Khadinarra’ made with the fabric that is the pride of the nation ‘Khadi’. The resort wear collection showcased Jackets, Skirts, Shorts & Bralets in interesting cuts and patterns perfect for wearing to a corporate meeting or a wedding by the beach. 
The show highlighted creativity and sustainability at the same time with attires made from khadi cotton and khadi silk, a natural fibre, dyed with vegetable, flower & leaf extract. The buttons used too were made of coconut shells and the accessories of sea shells. While curating the collection, Solankii made sure it was as close to nature as possible.
Talking about the collection Solankii said, ‘My collection is an amalgamation of Khadi which has the ability to keep cool in summers and warm in winters.  The challenge was sourcing the fabric from various Khadi Gram Udyogs as no two samples are alike much like our fingerprints.’ 
On why she called her collection ‘Khadinarra’, Solankii mentions, ‘Khadi continues to be special in many ways for me as the world moves towards industrial, fast fashion. Its the fabric of freedom that continues to generate income for the poor, especially women who contribute to 70% of khadi artisans.’ 
Since she used the fabric of the nation, Solankii’s showstopper too had to be someone who had made the nation proud and so it was Thakur Anoop Singh, actor, pilot, athlete & singer who went on to become India’s first Mr. World in 2015.
About the collection Anoop said, ‘It’s my privilege to be be associated with a brand & show that boasts of how rich Indian culture and heritage is. I think more people should be aware of how to buy Khadi fabric and clothes made from the kadhi. What’s even better is that designers like Rasshmi are making such amazing and chic patterns that make this clothes very on trend. Now this is sustainable fashion in its truest sense.’

Sonam Kapoor guest judge on Project Runway

India’s postergirl for fashion, Sonam Kapoor, was recently invited to be guest judge on Project Runway, Middle East, the Arabian version of the successful American TV show Project Runway. 
Donning a black Elie Saab gown, Sonam joined fashion moguls like Elie Saab, Afef Jnifen and Youssra as special guest on the show. 
The fashion icon was invited by Elie Saab , whose she’s known for over a decade to work with the MBC Project Runway team, right from the creative conception to the judging stage. 
Talking about her experience shooting for the show said Sonam, “The Middle East is bubbling over with incredible fashion talent and I had a chance to be part of the MBC Project Runway first hand. When Elie Saab invited me as guest judge I happily obliged. I know Elie for more than a decade now. I have been wearing his creations since I was 22. I think our aesthetics match perfectly. We both love combining beauty, drama and elegance. “ 

Sharing details on the episode she was part off adds Sonam, “Each celebrity guest announced a new challenge that requires the designers to develop one or more pieces of new clothing to be presented at a runway show. The point of it all is to test the designers' creativity while maintaining their personal fashion design aesthetics and showcase it within a limited budget and time.”

Bajirao Mastarni fame Designer Anjuu Modi roped in for Chiranjeevi's next movie Sye RAA

FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), one of the most prestigious pan India forums working towards the goal of women empowerment today released a Women Artisans Craft Directory in an event titled “Celebrate Creativity” organised Late last evening  here today. 
This Directory covers the 29 states of India and highlights the creative dexterity of more than 400 women along with their contact details. The launch of the Directory took place in the presence of two eminent personalities – Sanjay Garg & Anju Modi, two designers and fashion entrepreneurs who understand the true potential of Handlooms & Handicrafts and its significant role in providing employment to a vast segment of craftsperson, thereby preserving the intangible heritage of our country. 
“India is a land known for its cultural diversity, vibrant art forms and the exquisite artefacts handcrafted by millions of skilled artisans including women . The Women artisans craft Directory is an effort to support women artisans from various parts of the country  to connect directly with buyers across India and the world and  will also help bridge the gap between India’s skilled women artisans and discerning buyers as it will establish a direct link with artisans, bring them recognition and respect” said Ms Vasvi Bharat Ram, President, FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) . 
Leading costume designer Anju Modi speaking on the occassion said that she has been roped in for South India's megastar  Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film Sye Raa, a period film based on Uyyalavada Narasimha Reddy. “ I have  designed the outfits and the ornaments for Chiranjeevi and the other members of the film,” She said 
Anju Modi  earlier worked for Hindi period films like Bajirao Mastani and Ram Leela. So, the film’s producer Ram Charan and lead actor Chiranjeevi decided to rope her in for the costume department,” She said .
Chiranjeevi’s elder daughter Sushmitha is also in the team helping Anju. “Anju Modi, Sushmita and the ten member team did a fabric research for the costumes and also the accessories. They also did the research about the culture   and costumes during the pre-independence era,” added Ms modi 

This movie is directed by  'Dhruva' fame Surender Reddy and  Mega power star Ram Charan Tej is bankrolling this flick with almost 150 crores of the budget. Oscar award winning music director A R Rahman will score the music. The film also has a solid star cast, including Bollywood's titan Amitabh Bachchan, Tamil Superstar Vijay,  Kannada Superstar Sudeep, Jagapathi Babu and Nayantara.

Clothes are not the problem, it’s the mentality: Prachi Tehlan

Even though the world is progressing, mindsets of certain people are still stuck in the Stone Age, and actors become the easy targets of such regressive mentalities. Slut-shaming is one such issue that is faced every now and then. From Deepika Padukone to Priyanka Chopra, Sana Sheikh, Esha Gupta etc., everybody has fought back situations where they were trolled for their attires. 
Prachi Tehlan, who is portraying a ‘tomboy’ in her ongoing show ‘Ikyawann took the podium to express her viewpoint. “Passing judgments on what a person wears has always been disturbing for me. While playing the character of Susheel in my show, I got a better understanding of how such unpleasant and unwelcoming comments influence a girl’s mindset. Nobody has the authority to bash others for their dress sense,” said Prachi. 
Talking about any bad experience she had, Prachi is thankful that she never dealt with anything as such. “Since the day I was born (3 October 1993) I never encountered infuriating personalities of these kinds. No matter what I opted for, my parents supported me thoroughly. From being a sports person to an actor, I was always backed by my closed ones. And this is the reason why I can confidently make decisions for myself today. The crux of the matter is, nobody’s opinion counts if your closed ones don’t have a problem with what you do, what you say or what you wear.” 
Referring to the Padmavati actor Ranveer Singh-who was trolled for his attires- Prachi added, “Even the guys in our industry face such meaningless criticisms. This clearly reflects that issue is not about girls or boys, what to wear and what not to, rather it’s the people who have a built-in habit of judging others for no reason.” 
Well, that’s similar to the attitude we get to see of our very beloved celebrities. Say it Deepika, Priyanka, or Esha Gupta, all these have either chosen to remain unfazed by the criticism or have wittingly hit back at the trolls. 

In today’s time, celebrities are ideals of our society and hence bear the responsibility to set the right example for general public. It’s good to see them as people who are confident in themselves.

Silk - the Queen of textiles celebrates Queen of the home with one of its kind beauty pageant for the ‘Mrs’ for the first time in Mumbai. This beauty pageant brand is owned by Silk Mark organisation of India, Central Silk Board under The Ministry of Textiles and is called ‘Shrimati Silk Mark’. It is a pageant for silk loving married ladies in Mumbai and  aims at providing a platform for them to excel and showcase their talent and beauty draped in silk amidst a larger audience , thereby encouraging more married women to exhibit their knowledge of silk  as well as their innate values and beauty.
Shrimati Silk Mark is running successfully in the Southern states and launched for the first time in the West, starting with Mumbai, followed by Surat and Pune. 
Ms. Vidya Balan,the brand ambassador for Silk Mark always dressed resplendently in gorgeous Silk Sarees has graciously accepted to judge the 20 finalists for Shrimati Silk Mark 2017 Mumbai.

There will be 4 rounds for judging the participants; Round 1. Indo Western Fusion, Round 2. GhagraCholi,  Round 3: Evening Gowns, Round 4: The Classic Saree .
The Design and Styling will be done by renowned designers.

Mr. Manish Reshamwala will design and dress the GhagraCholisSionnah Design Studio beautifully style the Evening Gowns for the contestants.
The Classic Sarees will be offered by Weavers Service Centre and elegantly styled by Ms. Shaina N. C. Designers from North Eastern States will showcase their  collections in Pure Silk.ther noted designers viz Ms. DishaMuchhala, Ms. Sharaddha Vora and Mr. C.
