Taapsee and Bhumi pack a punch with Saand Ki Aankh trailer launch

The afternoon was all about charged up emotions, hope and hitting the bull’s eye! Filmmaker Tushar Hiranandani unveiled the trailer of his much awaited upcoming film Saand Ki Aankh in Mumbai's Inorbit Mall on Monday.

The inspirational journey of India’s oldest sharp shooters, Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar is, presented by Reliance Entertainment & Anurag Kashyap in association with chalk and cheese films, is directed by acclaimed scriptwriter Tushar Hiranandani and stars Taapsee Pannu & Bhumi Pednekar. The drama is produced by Reliance Entertainment, Nidhi Parmar.

Present at the launch were the lead actresses Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar. However, the guest of honour was Prakashi Tomar, the shooter Dadi, who is essayed on the screen by Taapsee.

The trailer was received by a thunderous applause from the audience.

Taapsee Pannu, “We really had big boots to fill. Primarily it started with the fact that I wanted to do two films where two actresses would work together with equal roles. They are big heroes for the entire nation to look upto. For me a very emotional reason to do this film was that I just couldn’t stop thinking about my mother when I heard the story. For me this story is about those women, who before marriage spent their life listening to their fathers, after marriage, they lived for their husbands and later they had children and lived for them and never lived for themselves. My mother is 60 and now I feel like telling her that she is should live her life the way she wants. From my side this film is dedicated to my mother”

An emotional Bhumi Pednekar, who plays the role of Chandro Tomar in the film said, “The fact that Taapsee and I were going to do this together was the most exciting part of me because I think I am a phenomenal actor. When Tushar said that she is finalised, I knew that it was meant to be. There are some films which are very special and this is one of them. This film is an ode to my grandparents, my parents, and an ode to my mom. Just what our mothers did for us, we don’t even get a chance to thank them. This is our way of thanking them. Both the dadis is such an inspiration for all of them.

Talking to the media, Tushar said, "I saw them on the episode of Satyamev Jayate, Aamir show and I had tears in my eyes. I told my wife who is also the producer that I wanted to tell this story. But this film is not just me, it my writers Balwinder Singh Janjua and Jagdip and my team, my real hero is Sudhakar Reddym the cameraman. I always knew that I wanted a story to direct but didn't know what. But when I saw them on that episode, I knew I wanted to tell their story. This film is made on believe. Everyone went out of their way to make this film and it took five years.”

Shibasish Sarkar, Group CEO, Reliance Entertainment adds, “This is a real life story. India is a big country and has many stories to tell, but not all stories come in front of us. Tushar identified this story. It is a real life journey of Tomar dadis and their family. It took us some time to put this together and finally Taapsee and Bhumi landed up in the journey. Soni Razdan's No Fathers in Kashmir finally set to release on 5th April!

After being banned for 8 long months by the censor board, audiences pan India will get to see one of the most awaited films of 2019. The film made headlines earlier this week when it finally got justice and the UA certificate that it had been fighting for all these months.

Ashvin Kumar the director who has helmed the project has previously been nominated for an Oscar® for his short film, Little Terrorist and has won two National Awards for his eye opening films on Kashmir — Inshallah Football and Inshallah Kashmir. No Fathers in Kashmir is the 3rd in his 'Kashmir trilogy’. Themes of hope, peace and humanity runs through all his films so far with No Fathers being within the same emotions.

Besides being its writer & director, Ashvin also stars as one of lead characters of the film and is joined by stars Soni Razdan, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Anshuman Jha and Maya Sarao and it is all set to release on the 05th of April 2019 across cinemas in India.

The makers now released the first look poster of the film which features the shattered screen of a phone behind which two charismatic blue-eyed, grinning 16 year olds peer out. The story traces a teenage British Kashmiri, Noor, who re-traces her roots in search of her father. There she meets Majid, a local boy smitten by her, takes her to a forbidden area near the Indo-Pak border fraught with danger. They stumble upon a dark secret and things going awry when they’re arrested. Noor is soon released with Majid still captive. Having put him into peril how far will Noor go to have Majid released. And can love ever be the same again for these two?

With a bold tagline “Everybody thinks they know Kashmir”  the makers are clearly hinting at what is expected from the film and its storyline.

 Speaking about the release and poster launch, director Ashvin Kumar said, “It is a film made for young people all over India to connect with young people all over Kashmir, about the euphoria and hopefulness of being young - an A certificate would keep both these audiences away from each other. Now I am confident kids will come out with their hearts beating for Kashmir”

The team of Manmarziyaan brings the house down in Bangalore

The music of Dev D went on to win composer Amit Trivedi a National award and the maverick now reunites with director Anurag Kashyap for Manmarziyaan.

Anurag Kashyap is back with his rendition of a musical love story, this time around revisiting romance in the bylanes of Amritsar with colours, emotions and music pulsating through his story.

Already touted to be the album of the year , the music of the film came live to audiences across the country with the  “Manmarziyaan concerts”, as the starcast of the film Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu & Vicky Kausal,director Anurag Kashyap, music director Amit Trivedi & his band and over 20 singers toured across main metro cities in India.

After touring across Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad ,Chandigarh and Delhi , the Manmarziyaan concert finally closed with a bang at Bangalore.

Apart from performing to the songs from the Manmarziyaan album, the starcast also danced to London Thumakda from Queen and Kajra Re from Bunty Aur Bubli .While Abhishek played the dhol, Vicky had a group of girls overwhelmed when he called them on stage to dance with him . Junior Bachchan even threw his jacket into the audience, on request of his female fans and performed Garba on stage with Amit Trivedi.

Gujarat Ki Manmarziyaan

The team of Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions' highly-anticipated Manmarziyaan visited Ahmedabad for the movie promotion recently. 

While in Ahmedabad, the movie cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal was accompanied by renowned Gujarati actor Malhar Thakkar (Chhelo Divas & Su Thayu fame). Based in Ahmedabad, Malhar took them to the  famous temple in the city. 

In between all the interviews and media interactions, the Manmarziyaan team took a little time off and made a quick visit to sample the delicious Gujarati spread, Govardhan Thali.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui along with the star cast of ‘Genius’ witnessed for promotions

The forthcoming action thriller flick, Genius: Dil Ki Ladaai Dimag Se, has already won million of hearts and stealing the limelight. Therefore, for the same, star cast of the film Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Utkarsh Sharma, Ishitha Chauhan and director Anil Sharma were witnessed interacting with the media in hotel Le Meridien, Delhi to promote their upcoming film. The film marks the debut of Utkarsh Sharma in a lead role, who was last seen in film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001) as a child actor.

Sharing the experience, Nawazuddin said, “This is my first film with Anil sir and I really had a great experience. I wanted to work with him for long time and now I have got this opportunity”. He added, “I always wanted to do this type of film in my life. I have done villain role in some films but this time I am playing the role of villain in a different way. My character is very different from my recent films”.

Taking lead for the first time in film, Utkarsh said, “Working with Nawazuddin sir is like dream come true. I am his biggest fan and really enjoyed working with him. I am very excited for the film. My dad had guided me during the shoots and I have learned a lot from my dad and Nawazuddin sir”.

The film also features Mithun Chakraborty, Ayesha Jhulka and Ishitha Chauhan in prominent roles. Produced by Anil Sharma Production and Soham Rockstar Entertainment, the scheduled release date of the film is 24th August.

Rishi Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Anubhav Sinha along with star cast reached Delhi for the promotions of MULK

The Talented star cast of controversial movie Mulk, Rishi Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Neena Gupta and Prateik Babbar, Prachee Shah Pandya, Ashrut Jain, Vartika Singh were witnessed in India Habitat Centre, for media interactions and promotion along with survey launch of their upcoming film. Bolstering the steadfast popularity of the legal drama genre in Bollywood, courtroom drama Mulk will get its theatrical release in India on August 3, 2018. The film is directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Deepak Mukut.

Therefore, while interacting with media peeps Director Anubhav Sinha states, "Essentially Mulk is a courtroom drama, a story of a family that must protect its pride. The film tries to table questions that we don’t address in the open. We like to call it a social thriller. It is not political. It is a story of you and me, about us. Our conduct. Our prejudices. Our preconceived notions- about each other. We don’t talk to each other about the problems we have with each other. But I guess everything in life is political. The film doesn’t claim to give answers but it is not impossible to find some in there. It is a story of our times. It does not try to teach you anything, it just tells you an engaging story about the people of India."

Whereas, actress Taapsee Pannu is playing the character of a lawyer in this film. Therefore for the same she said, “The role really became stressful for me during shooting because if you see the kind of star cast  the film has, it was really became difficult for me to perform with renowned actors like Rishi Kapoor , Ashutosh Rana and other good theatre actors. I was trying my best to give the shot in single take without ant mistake”. Considering the controversial issue she added, “I don’t watch news regularly and I am not even politically active but too I know the right or wrong. And I feel really sad about Hindu-Muslim issue perception”.

One of the prominent Actor of Bollywood, Rishi Kapoor, who is playing the main lead in film, said, “I don’t have much idea about politics and their policies. When I heard the script I really found it good and enjoyed my character.” He added, “We should not have any wrong feelings about Hindu-Muslim. This issue is very old but still have a strong impact on all of us. We should sit and solve this issue rather than doing unnecessary thing.”

Kajol launches poster of Helicopter Eela in London; kickstarts promotions of the film in London

The charming actress, Kajol is all set to return to the big screen with her upcoming film Helicopter Eela which release worldwide on 14th September.

The actress who is currently in London has started the promotions of Helicopter Eela by launching the poster amidst media there.

With the tagline ‘She is here, there and everywhere..’ we cannot wait to see Kajol play a controlling and possessive mother! 

Helmed by Pradeep Sarkar, Eela is a story of a single mother and an aspiring singer who gives up all her dreams to raise her only child, played by National award winning actor Riddhi Sen. Her son who is a typical young millennial doesn’t want his mother life to revolve around him. Being an over protective mother she decides to join her son’s college, which eventually suffers a backlash for invading the son’s privacy.

Talking about her role in the film, Kajol says, “As a mother, I felt a real connection with Eela’s character.  She loves her son unconditionally and has built her life around him. But as he grows up, she finds herself becoming more and more dispensable. She has also put her life and dreams on hold, like so many mother’s do. This is a life situation  that so many women face once their kids grow up. And, one that I will inevitably face is, what do I do now? How do I hold on to my baby? In a way, Helicopter Eela is a coming of age film, more for Eela rather than it is for her son!”

Gippy Grewal & Sonam Bajwa promotes their upcoming film Carry on Jatta 2 in Delhi

Right after 6 years the sequel of Blockbuster Punjabi film, Carry on Jatta 2 is all to hit the silever screen with the same star cast. As the film is about to release on 1st June, the cast Gippy Grewal and Sonam Bajwa visited Delhi for the promotions of their upcoming Punjabi comedy flick. The promotional event took place in The Theatre Club & Lounge at Hotel Radisson Blu, Paschim Vihar.

Both the stars seemed excited about the movie, and hoping that it would manage to entertain the audience more in comparison to the first movie. While interacting with media peeps, about the movie Gippy stated, “We are really excited about the film, I hope second sequel will entertain audience more, the meaning of Carry on Jatta is itself fun, entertainment. When we were all together on sets, we enjoyed working for this film. I am really happy, as this film is really important for me in my life. It was a wonderful experience again for working for this film. Everyone worked really hard for Carry on Jatta 2 and I am hoping you people will like this film too.”

Whereas, Sonam Bajwa said, “I was really excited when I got to know about this film from director, I heard the script and started working for the same. I actually didn’t felt any pressure while working, the only pressure was laughter because I was the one who use to laugh a lot on the sets. Well, the entire team was so supportive. I really enjoyed working with everyone.”

Well, Carry on Jatta 2 is a 2018 Indian Punjabi comedy film directed by Smeep Kang. The film is a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster film, Carry On Jatta with Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, Jaswinder Bhalla, Gurpreet Ghuggi, B.N. Sharma and Karamjit Anmol returning to feature in the second instalment as well. The film features Sonam Bajwa as the lead female and, Upasana Singh and Jyotii Sethi in supporting roles.

Veteran actor Tom Alter's last film 'Kitaab' premiere held in Nation's Capital

The premiere of the award-winning Short film titled “Kitaab” starring legendary actor late Mr. Tom Atler held in New Delhi.  The actor who will be remembered for his brilliant acting, Tom Alter will be seen in his last feature film. The movie is based on the increasing influence of electronic gadgets, we are moving away from books. Therefore, apart from the film screening, there was also a panel discussion on the topic of “Impact of Electronics gadgets on Books.”

The event took place in Film Division Auditorium at Mahadev Road. The entire program was graced by the presence of well-known personalities and the panelists, Padmbhushan Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, Founder Sulabh Swachchata Andolan and Smt. Maitreyee Pushpa noted Novelist and Hindi Writer, Vice Chairperson, Hindi Academy, as well as director of the film Kamlesh K Mishra.

In the panel discussion, Dr. Pathak stated, "Nowadays, people are tangled up in gadgets and mobiles. All these gadgets need support, they can’t work without any support like electricity, internet and all, but our books are free. Yes, gadgets are also important but it can't replace the feel of a book."

Whereas, Smt. Maitreyee said, "the history of Kitaab is old, it changes every phase of life and things have changed a lot, we don't need any technology for a book, no internet nothing. We can read a book anywhere, in a forest as well. Yes, technology has reached so far, mobile phones are useful for everyone even ladies in small villages as well. But the culture of books will never end and it should not end."

Directed by the award-winning director Kamlesh K Mishra, the impactful film reveals, because of the increasing influence of electronic gadgets, the books are getting away from us. And the legendary actor Late Tom Alter has played the role of an old librarian in this film and left no stone unturned to get the last reader coming to the library.

HARJEETA: Ammy Virk starrer is a remarkable true story of Harjeet Singh, an Indian professional hockey player

Famous Punjabi singer and actor Ammy Virk is all set to hit the screens by his upcoming biopic of Indian Hockey player Harjeet Singh Tuli. Harjeeta is based on the passionate true story of Harjeet Singh, who captained the Indian squad at the 2016 Men's Hockey Junior World Cup. Well, the entire details are revealed by Ammy Virk himself, who was present in a press conference held in PVR Plaza, Connaught Place, New Delhi. Along with him the producer of the film Bhushan K Chopra, Munish Sahni, Varinderr Kumar and Vikas Jain were also present for the same.

As the movie is based on true story, it reveals the life of Harjeet Singh Tuli an Indian hockey player, whose family, like so many families in this country was struggling with the biggest problem of our nation, poverty. Vinay Pathak & Manoj Pahwa witnessed in Delhi for promotions of upcoming comedy flick 'Khajoor Pe Atke'

The Well-known versatile actors of Bollywood Industry Vinay Pathak & Manoj Pahwa are all set to hit the screens with their upcoming comedy flick 'Khajoor Pe Atke'. As recently, both the actors were witnessed in Nations' Capital for the promotions of their film. Along with them the director Harsh Chhaya and producer Amrit Sethia were also present to grace the event. The entire team seemed highly positive, as they interacted with media peeps in a press conference held in Hotel the Lalit at Barakhamba Avenue. 

As this is the first direction debut of Harsh Chayya, he seemed excited for his film, while talking with media he shared his experiences and stated, “This is my first written & directed film. I have already been an actor but direction is a different world. While working for this film I realised a difference between a director and an actor. I learned how to work with hundred people together. It was really a great experience as we have such a talented cast like Vinay Ji, Manoj Ji and others as well. My experience with the team was simple as we already knew each other since long.” Further he added, Khajoor Pe Atke is a balanced film with a great cast. Now audience will like this film or not, it will be decided after 18th May.”

On the other hand Vinay Pathak said, “This movie is releasing on 18th May. We want all of you to go and watch this film. It’s a small movie, yes we are not promoting in a big way, I am sure this movie will entertain you all. And I am sure you guys will relate your life with Khajoor Pe Atke.” Talking about his experience he added, “I had a great experience of being a part of this family based film. The entire cast was known to us so we had amazing time together. Whereas, adding his views Manoj Pahwa, added, “Yes it’s a family film, which relates with every member of the family and what problem they face together. A serious situation in this film is portrayed in a funny manner. Peple will have fun while watching this film.” 

Well, as per the details revealed Pathak and Pahwa play brothers who land up in Mumbai when they learn about their seriously ill brother. However when the patient neither improves nor passes away, everyone’s life is in a state of flux as they are unable to enjoy being in Mumbai, nor are they able to go back to their lives in their own towns and homes.  But life must go on and so too does the hilarity in their lives continue, because ultimately they are who they are and well, that itself is enough to create chaos.

The National award winning director, who is known for his intense movies Onir, is back with another romantic drama flick, titled as Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz. Ekta Kapoor’s digital venture ALT Balaji have shown up some promising Hindi Web Series and one of them is Director Vinay Waikul and Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘The Test Case’. Therefore, the cast of the web series Nimrat Kaur, Anoop Soni, Atul Kulkarni, director Vinay Waikul and the Chief marketing officer of ALT Balaji Manav Sethi was witnessed in New Delhi for the promotions. The amazing team interacted with media peeps at the press conference held in Hotel Le Meridien.

‘The Test Case’ a web series which reveals the story of the first woman combat officer portrayed by Nimrat Kaur, who struggles to carve out her own identity in a male-dominated world. Whereas, while interacting with media the leading lady Nimrat shared her experience, she said, “It wasn’t an easy task to put together this story. We tried to keep it real. It was really difficult for us. And for me it was truly one of the biggest blessings to be the part of this project. We had a responsibility to portray the right message to our society, therefore none of us was acting for this series, and we gave our heart to it. This role was really challenging for me not only physically but mentally as well.”

On the other hand, Anoop Soni stated, “For me this show is a breath of fresh air, after a long time I am back with such a role. When this show was offered to me, I didn’t take much time to say yes. And it was a pleasure to work with such a hardworking team, especially Nimrat & Atul. I had a great time with everyone.” The other lead of the series Atul Kulkarni also shared his thoughts for the same, he said, “Being a man it’s a great opportunity to be the part of this web series. Yes, there is no difference in male and females, this is a message which we want to portray in parts through this project. Not only the main leads but the entire team really worked hard together. I would really request the viewers, specially the females to go through with this series, the character of Nimrat will definitely motivate them.”

Kay Kay Menon promoted "Vodka Diaries" his upcoming murder mystery flick in New Delhi!

Vodka Diaries: An upcoming Indian thriller flick is near to its release date, that is 19 January 2018, therefore the leading actor of the film Kay Kay Menon along with Mandira Bedi and director Kushal Srivastava were witnessed in Delhi for the promotions. The press conference was held in the Cafe MTV FLYP at Connaught Place. The film set in contemporary Manali. The story revolves around a club called Vodka Diaries, where few murders have happened and ACP Ashwini Dixit portrayed by Kay Kay Menon, is investigating them.

While interacting with media the talented team of Vodka Diaries shared their views and uniqueness of the film. While asking for the title of the movie, Mandira Bedi cleared the air and stated, "Vodka Diaries is a night-club name, on which the plot of the movie revolves. After a long back, I am doing a film. I chose this film because I felt the script is full of thriller and twists, it will keep people gripped. This is a first time I am doing a romantic role and I am really excited about the same."

Whereas, on asking Menon about the difficulty he faced while shooting in cold studded areas like Manali, he told media, "Yes it was bit difficult, the weather was too cold while shooting for the movie, in some shots I use to roam around in shirts because of my character in the movie not because of the production team. Facing difficulties are part of actors' life. It was my work and I enjoyed it totally." About his romantic avatar in movie KayKay in a funny way stated, "This is not the first time I am into a romantic zone, yes for sure my way of handling romance is a bit different."

On the other hand, Kushal Srivastava, about his first direction film stated, "Vodka Diaries is my first film as a director, I am really excited, we really worked hard to portray the concept of the film. I am thankful to the entire team and requesting the audience for their support."

Saif Ali Khan revealed about his crazy avatar in 'Kaalakaandi' while Delhi promotions

The Nawab of Bollywood Saif Ali Khan is now back with another humorous avatar through his upcoming movie named Kaalakaandi. Therefore he was witnessed in Delhi for the promotion of the movie. Along with him, the crazy cast was also present for the press conference held in Royal Ballroom, The Imperial Hotel at Janpath which includes Deepak Dobriyal, Kunal Roy Kapur, actress Sobhita Dhulipala, director Akshat Verma.

Well, Kaalakaandi is an upcoming 2018 Indian black comedy film, which revolves around the twisted life of characters present in the film. While interacting with media the entire team shared their experiences. Saif Ali Khan seemed jolly with press, he stated, “This is a story of one night and different people. My character in the movie holds the trauma of Cancer patient who needs a change in his life. This movie narrates how everyone faces changes in their life by one night. Well, yes it’s a very sweet movie. Yesterday only we saw the entire film, it made us laugh and cry. And I am sure you guys will like this film.” Further he added, “To portray a sensitive issue in terms of laughter is a big thing. This movie carries bit of a Cancer part which is relating with my character. There are few abusive dialogues in this film, so it truly deserves an A certificate, and yes it’s not for kids obviously.”

On the other hand, without talking much Deepak Dobriyal stated, “I would say just go and watch this movie after release, it holds a lot. The concept of this film is great. My character in this film is bit abusive. And the laughter you will find is going to relate with everyone’s pain and emotion.”
