Style tips for Navratri

Navratri is here and so are the colourful lehengas and pathanis. Out favourite TV actors give us tips to style it up this festive season.
Mrunal Jain – According to me, Kediyu and Kafni pyjama is what makes you look stylish and different from others. It should have a variety of vibrant colours.
Ssharad Malhotraa - One should wear embroidered Kurtas during this time. I feel that look very stylish, especially in bright colours like red and brown.
Mohammad Nazim - I think Pathani goes well with the festive season. The ideal colour would be Navy blue. And one should gel up one's hair.
Adaa Khan – I feel colourful beads, mirror work, embroidery or shells look beautiful embellished on a traditional lehenga and choli. So I will suggest going for that traditional look.
Shashank Vyas - Colours project your personality and I think one should choose bright colours for Navratri. Where fashion is concerned, one shouldn't follow strict rules but should follow one's instinct.
Shakti Arora - You should wear Garba Dhoti Kurta as it goes with the occasion. Navratri is the only time when one can carry this traditional look.

Jasmin Bhasin - I think one should wear a lot of chunky oxidized jewellery and a nose pin for sure. These match well with the colourful clothes that these days require. Red, white and pink look the best.

YRF’s mega flick Tiger Zinda Hai starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif has wrapped up shooting with an elaborate schedule in Abu Dhabi. Shot for over 60 days in the Emirate, this spy drama has elaborate action sequences filmed here. Action coordinator Tom Struthers of the Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises fame has worked on this film with director Ali Abbas Zafar. Zafar elaborated, “Shooting for Tiger Zinda Hai was gruelling, challenging and a whole lot of fun. We’ve shot across pristine, relatively unseen locations in Austria, Morocco and shot on a huge lot in Abu Dhabi along with other spots. Right from the infrastructure, to the support that the local military has given us, shooting here was smooth and a great collaborative experience. Tiger and Zoya’s second outing is going to be larger than life, and the shoot lives up to that.”With the principle shoot completed, only a song remains to be filmed for the film. A sequel to the record breaking blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai has filmed across global locations on a lavish, visually impressive scale and has worked with famed international technicians. Set to hit theatres on December 22, this is the big Christmas release for 2017.

Our baby Badho Bahu is growing.- Producer Sushant Kumar on Badho Bahu completing one year

It is a happy day for Sushant Kumar and Teenna Swayyam of Humtum Telefilms as their show Badho Bahu completes one year.  In a time, when many shows don’t manage to survive beyond a few months, Badho Bahu has been loved by its audience. “It's great  moment for us that we have completed one year. Our baby Badho Bahu is growing. We are super happy and excited. Touchwood, I hope we have many more years to come,” he says.
Sushant feels that the concept of the show worked well. “Our unique content and fun element worked in our favour. Nobody has seen such Badho (chubby), cute, and witty bahu before on TV. Also, we have kept our story line as real as we could so that audience can connect with the characters,” he says.
Ask him the secret to making a successful show, and he says, “The audience is very unpredictable. You can never pre-decide what will work or what won’t, but I guess everyone likes to watch a show, where they can get involved mentally and emotionally.”
The reach of the show has travelled far and wide. Talking about the best compliment, which he has got, he says, “Recently, we were at a friend’s place and one of his relatives, who had come, mentioned Badho Bahu. He said that his mom is big fan of your show and is currently in USA. However, she is upset that she isn’t able to watch the show as she is travelling and keeps taking updates from his wife.”
Talking about future plans, he says, “We are working on some new projects. As a company, our goal is to make shows with a social message. We want to entertain our viewers but at the same time, we want to make them aware of social issues. I hope our next project will be on air soon.

Television is a writers medium- Dipti Kalwani

Producer Dipti Kalwani (Sunny Side Up) is ecstatic as her show Badho Bahu completes one year. This is a proud moment for the producer. “It’s been one year and we have made more than 260 episodes today. I feel very happy and grateful to the universe,” she says.
The show has a wedding coming up and a new twist in the show can be expected, says the producer.  Explaining the storyline that the show will follow, she says, “Along with Chotu Bahu, Lucky and Badho get married this time with a lot of respect and love with each other. This is their second marriage. Last time they got married forcefully but this time it is happening with their own consent. The big twist in the story will be the starting of Kushti after a really high dramatic point.”
The show is being enjoyed by a variety of audience since it’s first episode. Talking about the reason behind this, Dipti says, “The show has very interesting characters and has a slice of life storyline with an authentic Haryanvi flavour, which helps to hold the story. We also ensure that we keep the audience entertained through various things. It's entertaining as well as very identifiable.”
Talking about what works in making a show successful, Dipti says it is always the story. “Content is absolutely the king. Television is a writers medium, it’s all about good characters and stories,” she says.
The audience has also diversified, says Dipti. “A lot of people are watching shows on their mobile screen so there is no more television audience. Things are changing very fast and there is so much content available. It has become very difficult to survive. The viewers have so many options. There are digital platforms, international shows plus the local content. So there are no such things as the television audience. So it is difficult for us as the makers to give something new always but at the same time, it is also exciting to create something new and different,” she adds.
The producer says that she has got some great compliments from the audience, especially women. “I have got a lot of compliments from women, who have come around to accept their weight. And have felt inspired and more confident after watching the show. So I feel I have made a difference somewhere even if it is a small one,” she says. Badho Bahu is produced by Sunny Side Up (Dipti Kalwani) and Hum Tum Telefilms (Teena Swayyam and Sushant Kumar)
