Paresh Rawal’s and Swaroop Sampat's Son Aditya Turns Writer For Broadway Play

Celebrated actor Paresh Rawal’s and Swaroop Sampat’s son Aditya Rawal will be seen directing a play titled The Queen.  The play which is set in 16th century India, at the peak of the Mughal era, talks about the story of Durga, who is consigned to the west wing of the palace after her husband, the Rajput king, marries a younger woman. The play draws inspiration from Macbeth, Medea and the works of Rabindranath Tagore. The play will take place in NYC post which it will be mounted at the DRAMELLENTIA Theatre Company in India in their 2016-17 season.The Queen represents Aditya’s first New York production as a newly minted M.F.A.: Dramatic Writing Program, Tisch School of the Arts, NYU. He also studied Theater at the London International School of Performing Arts.
