Prachi Tehlan to star in Sony SAB’s new horror comedy

On your way to success, you meet many new people. But remembering them and acknowledging their support later in life is not what everybody does. However, Prachi Tehlan is one among those who hold an immense amount of respect and love for every single person who contributed to making her who she is. Out of this respect and love, Prachi recently signed a new project – a horror comedy Tv show- despite her decision of staying away from television for a little while and saying no to big shows coming her way. 

Titled Band Baja Bandh Darwaza, the show is being produced by Maqbool Khan and Amitosh Nagpal under Tuk Tuk Picture Company. It will be on air from January 26, every Saturday and Sunday.

“When I got a call from the makers of this show, I just couldn’t say ‘No’ also because of the amazing script and this beautiful character they approached me for. Since last few months I have been focussing on films, and a break from television was a conscious choice.  But how could I deny working with people with whom I started my journey in this industry. Maqbool sir handled me like a small baby guiding me through all the minor details of acting and helping me mould myself into that setup.” said Prachi, adding, “I have emotions attached with this team and I really don’t mind confessing that I signed the project purely for the team involved in it. It’s their first project as producers and I am glad to contribute to their new initiative.

Talking about her experience working with the team again, Prachi stated, “It is always fun to work with creative people like Maqbool sir and Amitosh sir. They hold great experience in the field and have done some phenomenal work in the past years. For example, besides assisting in the direction of over 100 music videos, Maqbool sir has individually directed CG heavy shows including ‘Pyaar Ki Ek Kahani’ and ‘Fear Files’. Also, he has helmed some high voltage action drama in shows like ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ and ‘Prithvi Vallabh’. On the other hand, Amitosh has written lyrics for movies like ‘Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye’ and dialogues for ‘Hindi Medium’. He is as amazing an actor with amazing sense of humour. He has acted in Indian films like Dabangg, Besharam, Phillum and many more.”

Prachi will be essaying the character of a Haryanvi girl for one of their weekly series. The teaser is already out and the show will be telecasted on February 2 and 3, 2019. The show will see popular film actor Mukesh Tiwari making his debut on television. Besides him, other actors of the show are also known faces of theatre and film industry. As for her films, Prachi, the shoot of Mamankam will resume from January after a long gap. Also, Prachi has been traveling to Hyderabad for a few Telugu projects. This time around, Kapil will be seen running a ‘Salha Center’ (Consultancy Business) in a Mohollah with absurd characters. The wealthy dairy kingpin Bachcha Yadav (Kiku Sharda) with his dominating wife Titli Yadav (Bharti Singh) have rented out houses within a mohollah where Kapil Sharma, one of the tenants, runs his consultancy business. To avoid rent, Kapil has made Bachcha his business partner. The other tennants in the Mohollah – essayed by popular comic talent in the industry like Chandan Prabhakar, Krushna Abhishek, Sumona Chakravarti, Rochelle Rao and Edward amongst others, are full of quirks and don’t shy away from their antics either.  With celebrities gracing every episode, The Kapil Sharma Show promises candid banter and unlimited entertainment every weekend. The first weekend will see the cast of Simmba – Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Sonu Sood along with director Rohit Shetty grace the stage followed by the Khan brothers - Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan along with Salim Khan in the following weekend.

Oscar Nominated Director’s film based in Kashmir finds itself in a tug of war for Film Certification

A few weeks ago, news reports had surfaced where Ashvin Kumar, India’s youngest Oscar-nominated director of the short film Little Terrorist found himself in a place where no filmmaker wishes to be. Being a creative medium, films have had a long-standing scale of issues with the CBFC over the years. With increasing methods to curb a voice, CBFC has always made news in terms of its varied reasons to reject or give incorrect certification to several films. And Ashvin Kumar’s next, No Fathers In Kashmir is currently is such a lurk. The film has had its own history now with the CBFC since July when the film first applied for certification. A process which usually would take 60-68 days took over 100 days to even get a certificate. The CBFC tagged the film ‘A’ in October despite it following all the lawful guidelines crafted by the board. 

No Fathers in Kashmir is a love story of two innocent 16-year-olds who are met with the same fortune of having lost their fathers who have disappeared in Kashmir with no certainty of their return. Interestingly Ashvin has made two other short films earlier Inshallah Football and Inshallah Kashmir both of which were first banned by the film certification board and later went on to win a National Award for each. Now when the filmmakers for their latest, decided to question and request for a revision of the certificate to U/A, the matter was applied to the FCAT, the final decision-making body for film certification. Upon the investigation of the matter, the FCAT in its screening which was held on 11th December, demanded the CBFC revising committee to give the film a proper hearing, in a written order asked them to watch the movie again and give it its justified certification within 10 days, which was on 21st December. Since then the CBFC has already removed the order and asked for a further extension to give its order on the movie. 

This happens to be the worst nightmare for a filmmaker, who’s invested time and creativity apart from money in making a film, especially when it’s independent. The tug of war between these two film certification bodies has left the makers of No Fathers in Kashmir in a very mucky space with no certainty of a release for its film. The film stars the two kids Zara Webb, Shivam Rana in addition to having an impressive ensemble cast comprising of Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Soni Razdan and Anshuman Jha.

Sara Ali Khan, the stunning young actress is already making headlines with her acting talent and gorgeous looks. Sara Ali Khan will be seen with Ranveer singh and Rohit Shetty on the premiere episode of  The Kapil Sharma Show which will air on 29th December at 9.30 PM. The most anticipated show promises to be laugh riot with the star cast of Simmba adding to the extra tadka of entertainment. Sara was very excited to be the part of The Kapil Sharma show. Later, Gattu (Abhishek Kapoor) also spoke to Rohit upon Sara’s insistence that Rohit should watch the rushes of Kedarnath. One day, Rohit decided to meet Sara and she went alone which was quite surprising for Rohit. Sara literally pleaded Rohit to take her in Simmba and Rohit decided upon Sara purely looking at her conviction. He didn’t even see the rushes of Kedarnath. Rohit also mentioned that Sara is in Simmba purely because of her hard work as ne never got a call from neither Saif nor Amrita to put in a word for Sara.”

Samar’s dramatic griha- pravesh at Jaya’s maayke in Main Maayke Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo

Sony Entertainment Television’s Main Maayke Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo is gearing up for a lot of drama. The show protagonist Namish Taneja who plays Samar will do a griha- pravesh at his wife Jaya’s (Srishti Jain) maayke. This is for a first time on Indian Television that a groom will enter his wive’s house with proper traditions and rituals.

In the current track, the viewers will see that Jaya has returned to her maayka (maternal house) after a major fight with Samar. Jaya’s mother Satya Devi (Neelu Waghela) asks for a divorce from the Surana family. Samar tries his level best to win back Jaya, but all his efforts goes in vain. To get her wife back, Samar comes up with an idea of doing a grand griha-pravesh at Jaya’s maayke and teach Satya Devi a lesson. The viewers will see a grand griha-pravesh of Samar with band and bajaa, which comes as a shock for the whole Sharma family.

The trailer releases much ahead of its scheduled date due to the mass anticipation and adulation rising.

“When we used to practice Cricket at Shivaji Park, we would see the preparations of Balasaheb’s assembly and, also how excited people would be to hear his speeches. And also how excited people would be to hear his speeches!

Whenever I met him, and was leaving for a Cricket tournament, he would always tell me to glorify the country’s name and make India proud,” shares an emotional Tendulkar.

It was Balasaheb, who while writing for the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana, urged the then-ruling Congress Party to confer the highest civilian honour upon the Master Blaster, “If you love Sachin so much, then why don't you give him the Bharat Ratna?” asked he.

Alaia F’s tryst with Urdu for Jawaani Jaaneman

Alaia F, daughter of Pooja Bedi, will soon be making her big Bollywood debut alongside Saif Ali Khan in Nitin Kakkar’s family comedy, Jawaani Jaaneman.

The young promising actor who will start working on her debut film by early next year has already started prepping for her character.

Interestingly, Alaia who plays a distinct and important role in the film, will be reciting dialogues in Urdu in the film.

A source informs, “Though details of Alaia’s character are under wraps at the moment, most of her dialogues requires her to speak in pure Urdu. For the perfection of the role, Alaia has started learning the basic Urdu words and accent too.”

“To get an in-depth knowledge of Urdu, Alaia has also started conversing with her staff, including her driver to understand pure Urdu. To master the accent and right diction of Urdu dialect, Alaia is also spending four to five hours every day watching videos and reading books,” the source informs. 

While a string of newcomers are making their inroads into the Hindi film industry, insiders have been placing their bets on Alaia, who is quite the social media sensation.

Shahrukh Khan who had come with his co-stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif from the movie Zero.  He slided right between the legs of Shahrukh Khan and Maniesh Paul. Shahrukh Khan was floored with this talent and was mind-blown.

Nitin said, “I feel to be a performer one needs to know dance along with singing and that is important to woo and entertain the audiences. So, I have been brushing up my dancing skills along with my singing and all my dance steps are my own innovation. Everyone on the sets finds it funny, and I’m happy to bring that comic element in the show along with Maniesh Bhaiya.”

Suniel Shetty and Zaheer Khan Join Hands to Launch Ferit Cricket Bash (FCB)

Renowned Bollywood superstar and sports enthusiast Suniel Shetty, cricketing legend Zaheer Khan, and investors extraordinaire Jasmeet Bhatia and Mitesh Sharma, today announced the launch of Ferit Cricket Bash (FCB), India’s first nationwide cricket league for amateur cricketers. FCB will feature 16 teams representing various regions of the country. Registration is open to players who are 15+ years, and the best performers will be selected, subject to an intensive 22-city talent search. The league aims to discover the most talented and passionate amateur cricketers from across the country.

FCB is an exciting endeavour aimed at encouraging the nation’s cricket lovers to pursue their dreams of playing competitively by giving them a massive platform to showcase their talent. After two intense selection rounds involving several thousand aspiring cricketers across multiple cities in India, the final 224 players will be divided into 16 teams. These teams, which will be mentored by internationally renowned cricketing legends and leading coaches from across India, will then compete with each other in an exciting 15-over a side format. Each shortlisted player will receive a participation fee of INR 1 lakh along with exciting cash rewards for the winning teams. The top 14 performers of FCB will be given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent the FCB All Stars Team and participate in a local club level tournament in Australia.

The launch ceremony was hosted by emcee Gaurav Kapoor and graced by some of the most iconic names in cricket such as Zaheer Khan, Muttiah Muralitharan, Chris Gayle, and Praveen Kumar. Industrialists Jasmeet Bhatia and Mitesh Sharma, co-founders and promoters of FCB also stated that a few more international cricketing icons would likely be signed on as mentors for the upcoming season of FCB.

When we started with the first season of Super Dancer, the experience of judging such talented kids was overwhelming. Over the years, the contestants have become more technically sound and have added a plethora of facets to their dancing skills. As I gear up to judge Super Dancer Chapter 3, I feel proud to be a part of a platform that celebrates such talent and encourages them to reach for the stars.

Over the years, I have seen this passion multiplying and I am excited to see what this season has in store for us. Shahrukh Khan is Ssharad Malhotra’s role model

Every actor wishes to be like another Bollywood superstar and work towards it. Speaking of Musakaan’s lead actor Ssharad Malhotra thought he was the next Shahrukh Khan after doing this first film ‘Ek Tera Sath’. The actor is a diehard Shahrukh khan fan and takes SRK as his role model.

Ssharad Malhotra has never failed to miss a movie of Shahrukh and seeks inspiration from him. So much so that he even tries to act like him on screen. Ssharad Malhotra says, “Shahrukh’s smile is contagious and there is a lot to learn from what he portrays on screen. His energy is very inspiring and he is truly my role model.”

He adds a memorable back story saying, "Back in school days in the year 1995, after watching DDLJ for the 100th time, I travelled to Mumbai in my summer vacations and stood outside Mannat to meet him. Unfortunately, that never happened, but 10 years after that, while shooting for my first show, I bumped into him at an event and all I remember is that for me, that moment just froze. 2nd November is a day I love to celebrate and my fans know that too."
