Is Shah Rukh Khan-luck rubbing off on Evelyn Sharma?

And you thought only Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan had fans waiting for them outside their Bandra residences. Wait till you are surprised!
A week ago, the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) actress Evelyn Sharma was taken aback to find two fans from Punjab waiting for autographs and selfies outside her Bandra abode. When she was preparing to leave for a shoot, they walked up to her and told her they had been coming there from two days and standing below her building for a couple of hours to get a peek of the actress.
Evelyn didn't know how to react to her new-found fandom. "I am used to being mobbed at airports and at events. But this was something new for me," says the teeny-bopper. She happily posed for selfies and also checked with the security guard about the fan-claims. They turned out to be true.
But while Evelyn thought this would be a one-off thing, she is being surprised more than often. It seems, word has spread that Evelyn agrees for autographs and selfies and a bunch of fans have regularly begun gathering and waiting for her. At times, the fans want more!
Like one group didn't let go of Evelyn till she sang a line from her famous Sunny Sunny song from Yaariyan. On another day, some fans insisted she flick her eyes the way she did for Ranbir Kapoor in YJHD, while they shot a video for their social media.
"It's indeed flattering and sweet. I'm really happy that they all come by and click pictures with me. Sometimes it feels safer with fans around, knowing they have my back if anything happens to me. But at the same time it's a bit scary, as there are around 20 complete strangers around me. So I don't know whether I should look after myself or just be flattered about it," she wonders.
Evelyn will next be seen in a key role in Imtiaz Ali's next with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. What can we say but that, maybe some of SRK-luck has rubbed on to her. ;-)

Evelyn Sharma goes through dust and grind to build homes on Women's Day

While most celebs headed to felicitation events, seminars or posted their views on Twitter on International Woman's Day, there was one who went through dust and grind. Actress and fashion philanthropist Evelyn Sharma joined some prominent women leaders from different fields in an initiative to build homes for underprivileged women.
The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actress who was last seen speaking at Donald Trump's National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, drove down to the little city of Karjat adjoining the Sahyadri Western Ghats near the banks of the River Ulhas in Maharashtra, to participate in a house building activity arranged under the campaign ‘WOMEN BUILD India’ by the Habitat for Humanity organization. Evelyn is the youth ambassador for their 'Young Leaders BUILD' movement.
In Karjat, Evelyn volunteered to build a home for Changuna Sarai who lives in Sarai Wadi with her family. Changuna and her husband Suresh Sarai are agricultural labourers. With their meager daily wages, they try to make ends meet. To add to their difficulties is a lack of proper sanitation facilities for her three daughters who are growing up.
Overjoyed with the development, Changuna said, "My husband, my daughters and myself; we live with our extended family. We are ten members in all and have been living in an extremely small house. Our condition has affected the education of my daughters. The new house is a dream come true for our family. Now we won't have to worry about a roof over our daughters heads."
'WOMEN BUILD India' is a part of Habitat for Humanity's strategy that aims to achieve holistic community development with shelter and sanitation at its core. Its objective is to make ‘Housing for All’ and ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ a reality by 2020.

"It is encouraging to see how the Government of India is addressing these needs through various campaigns. As women leaders from different fields, we must play a part. This was one of the best days of my life," quipped Evelyn who is also the founder and managing director of Seams For Dreams Charity Foundation. Attagirl!

Agneepath's Madhavi is NOT actress Evelyn Sharma's mom

While actress and fashion philanthropist Evelyn Sharma has been busy shooting for her upcoming Imtiaz Ali film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, she has been facing a strange kind of problem nowadays.
People have been asking the German-born Indian actress, if she is the daughter of Amitabh Bachchan's heroine from Agneepath. Thing is, whenever one types Evelyn's full name on Google, apart from auto-prompting her Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts, it prompts "Evelyn Sharma mother Madhavi."
Clicking on it takes one to a website called Celebrity Kick, which lists yesteryears actress Madhavi as Evelyn's mother. Madhavi had worked in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Oriya and Bengali cinema, and is well known in Bollywood for her stellar performance in Mukul S. Anand's legendary film Agneepath.
But Evelyn is flummoxed about this goof. She has a German mother and an Indian father. Since her parents have nothing to do with films, she wonders how this confusion began.

Evelyn has made a mark in the film industry with key roles in superhits like David Dhavan's Main Tera Hero starring Varun Dhawan, Rohan Sippy's Nautanki Saala with Ayushmann Khurrana, and Divya Khosla Kumar's Yaariyan, in which her sensuous bikini song Sunny Sunny with music superstar Yo Yo Honey Singh has been a blockbuster. She is popular for playing the vivacious Lara in Ayan Mukerji's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani alongside Ranbir Kapoor, under Karan Johar's banner Dharma Productions.

Evelyn Sharma to attend Donald Trump's 'Breakfast' in Washington DC

German-born Indian Bollywood actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma will attend American president Donald Trump's high-profile event -- the 'National Prayer Breakfast' -- in the Hilton's International Ballroom at the Washington Hilton hotel in Washington DC this week.
"Evelyn has been keeping this trip under wraps under the garb of vacationing in Los Angeles, California from where she even posted some gorgeous beach pics on her Instagram. But the secret is, she has just taken a flight from LA to Washington DC where she will attend Donald Trump's National Prayer Breakfast," revealed her publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
And what will Evelyn be doing at Trump's event? "She will be representing the Christian faith," he informed. The National Prayer Breakfast, a yearly event held in the capitol of USA since 1953, is hosted by members of the United States Congress and organized on their behalf by The Fellowship Foundation, a Christian organization.
It is typically attended by some 3,500 guests, including international invitees from over 100 countries. Wikipedia describes it as an event designed to be a forum for the political, social and business elite to assemble and build relationships.
