Sunny Singh and Sonnalli Seygall come together for ‘Jai Mummy Di’, releasing on 12th July

Actors Sunny Singh and Sonnalli Seygall are hailing the power of Mothers this season with their upcoming film ‘Jai Mummy Di’ slated to release in cinemas on 12th July, 2019. 

Sunny and Sonnalli, the mismatched lovers of ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ have reunited in ‘Jai Mummy Di’ as devoted love-birds with Supriya Pathak and Poonam Dhillon essaying the roles of their respective on-screen warring mothers. 

Directed by debutant Navjot Gulati, ‘Jai Mummy Di’ is a light-hearted family comedy which shows how the conflicting dynamics between these two mothers is leading to a muddled chemistry between their own children and between other members of both families. 

Speaking about the film, Luv Ranjan says, “Jai Mummy Di is a witty and entertaining family comedy. Films like our very own Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and even Badhaai Ho that released last year have proven that there is a big audience for stories which weave in family dynamics interestingly. We are excited to bring Jai Mummy Di to the audience this July.” 

Bhushan Kumar adds, “Today’s audience want to see cinema which is entertaining, interesting and relatable. We have seen this change with the humungous response such films received last year. Jai Mummy Di is for yours, mine and every other family you see around you.”

Women Oriented film “Hard Kaur” is slated to release on 15th December

Based on the subject of Women Empowerment Hard Kaur is a Punjabi movie which not only targets Punjabi audience but general public also. Portraying the women-oriented theme, this movie is slated for the release of coming 15th December. Therefore, for the same, the entire cast of the movie along with very well known personalities of Bollywood and Punjabi industry were present in Delhi at Ethiopian Cultural Centre for the promotions. 

While at the press conference held in Ethiopian Embassy, the Chief Guest of the event was Daler Mehendi, singer Kumar Sanu, Actor Akshay Anand and the CEO of PTC Rajie Shinde. Along with them, the leads of the film were also present, which includes the film stars powerhouse of talent and arguably the best female actor of Pollywood, Nirmal Rishi alongside Drishtii Grewal, Deana Uppal, Neet Kaur, Swati Bakshi. 

While addressing the Media, the Director, Ajit R Rajpal, said, “Hard Kaur, is a unique example of the best of Punjabi cinema which will showcase the women empowerment at its best”. He further added about the gist of the movie as, “This is a story of a Kaur who is a School teacher from patiala travels every day in a Local Bus from "Daonkala to Rajpura Bypass" comes across  a Super Rich boy from Haryana and how her life changes in a Murder which takes place in a running bus, the innocent girl gets trapped and becomes helpless in front of the Power, how the other 4 Kaur's of Punjab unite and saves the girl by bringing justice to her motivating millions of girls across the globe and making every Indian proud is the film Hard Kaur.” 

Lead Actress, Deana Uppal also added, “I am super happy to work with such a content and concept and I am sure this movie will be loved by audiences across". 

Well, this film has Sikh girls from five different cities of Punjab who go through agony, but win over all through all the hardships by uniting. Hard Kaur is directed by Ajit Rajpal and is being presented by Delhiwood Studios Pvt. Ltd. The movie is based on the 5 “Kaur’s” of Punjab. 

Punjabi puttar and veteran actor Dharmendra to play a god father in ‘Jora 10 Numbaria’

The story of Malwa region, Jora 10 Numbaria is Amardeep Gill’s first feature film.  The movie will showcase the inner friction amongst the political parties, police and the underworld. The central character hogging the limelight will be Jora, played by Deep Sidhu. Jora 10 Numbaria will prove to be a freshly plucked experience for the Punjabi film viewers.

As all the details and uniqueness of the movie is revealed by the cast of the movie Mukul Dev, Deep and actress Kul Sidhu. Along with director Amardeep while interacting with media in Press Conference held in a café at Cannaught Place, Delhi.

A handful of big names from Bollywood will also be seen making their presence felt in this film. One of them is the special character in the movie of legendry actor, Dharmendra who will be seen playing the role of a godfather.

Whereas, for the same the lead actor Deep shared his views and stated, “Dharam Ji holds a very strong character in the movie, as my character of Jora is kind of rebel who have anger in himself, so he gets guidance from Dharmendra Ji and then Jora get to channelize the right and wrong path.” On the other hand Mukul Dev also reveals about the movie and his character, he said, “As movie is based on politics and mafias, so I have character of Shera Thakur who is having grey shades, he is also a mix of Punjabi and Rajasthani.”

The director Amardeep while interacting with media told, “The essence and the storyline of this film can be summed up in a short sentence that- Politics is the last asylum for any criminal." He also stated that he has been working on this subject since a long time and a lot has gone into preparing and scripting this story.

Jora 10 Numbaria, under the banner of Bhatinde wale bai Films Presents in association with Ohri productions, will be released worldwide on 1 September 2017.

Richa Chadha debuts as a producer, hosts a screening for B-Town Celebs

Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films is back with its latest short film, Khoon Aali Chithi which is produced by the absolutely talent powerhouse Richa Chadha. The platform has gained immense popularity and has become one of the most credible platforms for releasing short films in India. After the phenomenal success of several short films, this platform is all set to release Khoon Aali Chithi which is a innocent love story of a young boy who's motive to write a letter in blood to his love is taken away in tragic circumstances set in the 80s Punjab. 

The short is directed by Richa’s friend Rupinder Inderjit who marks his debut into direction after having been a writer on a Punjabi film previously.

गिप्पी ग्रेवाल की फिल्म ‘मंजे बिस्तरे’

मशहूर पंजाबी सिंगर और फिल्म एक्टर गिप्पी ग्रेवाल आजकल अपनी पंजाबी फिल्म ‘मंजे बिस्तरे’ का प्रमोशन फिल्म के अन्य कलाकारों सोनम बाजवा, करमजीत अनमोल, जग्गी सिंह के साथ कर रहे हैं।  वह मीडिया के साथ अपनी फिल्म की स्टोरी को भी साझा करते हैं । मीडिया से बातचीत में गिप्पी ग्रेवाल ने बताया कि बलजीत सिंह देव के निर्देशन में बनी ‘मंजे बिस्तरे’ एक कॉमेडी, लेकिन पारिवारिक ड्रामा है, जिसे पूरे परिवार के साथ देखा जा सकता है। पुराने समय में जिस तरह से शादी होने से 15 दिन पहले रिश्तेदार का शादी वाले घर में आना शुरू हो जाता था और जिस घर में शादी होती थी वह लोग अपने पड़ोसियों के घर से मंजे और बिस्तरे लाना शुरू कर देते थे, उसी पर आधारित है मंजे बिस्तरे' । फिल्म में गिप्पी ग्रेवाल ने सुखी नामक युवक का किरदार निभाया है, जो अपनी बहन की शादी की तैयारी में व्यस्त है।  लेकिन घर में आई एक नई मेहमान रानो की मोहब्बत के जाल में फंस जाता है। सुखी एक संकोची प्रेमी है, इसलिए वह अपने प्यार का इजहार करने में हिचकता है। इसी दौरान अन्य कलाकार कैसे कहानी में प्रवेश करते हैं और नया ताना-बाना बुनते हैं, इसी से हास्य का तड़का लगता है। खास बात यह है कि 14 अप्रैल को रिलीज होने जा रही फिल्म ‘मंजे बिस्तरे’ का लेखन और निर्माण खुद गिप्पी ग्रेवाल ने किया है। अभिनेत्री सोनम बाजवा ने बताया, "मैं ‘मंजे बिस्तरे’ में रानो का मुख्य किरदार कर रही हैं। रानो पूरी तरह से ९० के दशक की लड़की है। हालांकि, वह एक पारिवारिक लड़की है, जो आत्मविश्वासी होने के साथ ही बेहद क्यूट-चुलबुली भी है। मुझे इस बात की बेहद खुशी है कि इस फिल्म में काम करने का मौका दिया गया, क्योंकि यह एक बेहतरीन फिल्म है।"

Sardaar Ji 2 - Diljit Dosanjh's Biggest Punjabi Film Till Date
