Mika Singh reveals late Wajid’s unique way of teaching him to sing an Akshay Kumar song in tune

Zee TV has been a pioneer and a trend-setter in shaping television content over the past three decades and once again, it seems to be changing the face of music reality shows with its latest non-fiction property, the Indian Pro Music League (IPML). While the world of sports has seen several league competitions, this unique music league has six teams representing different regions of India, battling it out against each other in a musical championship. Each of these six teams supported by leading Bollywood and sports celebrities has top playback singers as their captains, one reality show star, one all-rounder and one fresh voice. After three exhilarating innings, the fourth innings begins this weekend with a super match between all six teams.

While the competition will heat up during the upcoming episode of Indian Pro Music League with all the teams putting their best foot forward, the Wajid Khan special will also have many light moments with all the stars sharing some heartwarming anecdotes about the late musician. In fact, Mika also shared one such wonderful memory of Wajid where he mentioned about the late singer’s unique way of teaching him to sing an Akshay Kumar song in sync with the tune.

During the shoot of the episode, Mika Singh made a surprising revelation about how Wajid taught him how to sing Akshay Kumar’s Chinta Ta Ta Chita Chita perfectly in tune by dancing to the track. The Punjab Lions captain revealed, "We were recording the song ‘Chinta Ta Ta Chita Chita’ and Wajid has his own style of composition. So, there was an antara and I wasn't able to sing 'Arey kya rang roop hai? Kya chaal dhaal hai? in sync.' I was getting stuck, but Wajid had a trick up his sleeve. Not many know, but he was a great dancer and he danced on the whole bit so that I could catch the tune and lyrics."

While this revelation would have left you surprised, wait till you see all the teams singing special Sajid Wajid songs during the episode. You also cannot miss the musical battle between Gujarat Rockers, Bengal Tigers, Delhi Jammers, Mumbai Warriors, UP Dabbangs and Punjab Lions as they go all out to win the fourth super match.

To witness such wonderful moments and some incredible performances, tune into the Indian Pro Music League, every Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm, only on Zee TV

Web is here to stay, but theatres are irreplaceable: Sharad Kelkar

Of late, there’s been a lot of discussion about the boom in the digital platforms for entertainment and the OTT overtaking the big screen. While the growth in the web space and consumption of content there has been immense, actors Sharad Kelkar believes that  theatres would never lose their popularity.

Making a bold statement, the Tanhaji actor says, “Theatres are irreplaceable. The experience that one has while watching something on a big screen cannot be replicated. There’s a lot of difference between watching a film on your phone, TV or laptop and watching it in a cinema hall. There’s no comparison,” says Kelkar.

Other than film, Sharad has also been part of several web projects, such as Rangbaaz Phir Se, Special Ops, The Family Man, Black Widows and web-released films such as Laxmii and Darbaan (both 2020). He enjoys being part of the web space, he feels that the theatre experience is something else. “Cinemas will remain because people will get bored of watching content on their phones, and obviously they would want to go to theatres. They would want to get the real big-screen experience.”

While both the mediums are very different, Kelkar feels that the audience as well as actors will continue to enjoy both the mediums. So they will coexist.

“Now, people have already started going back to cinemas. And perhaps big films like ’83 and Sooryavanshi will see the numbers go up, of course if the Covid-19 situation in the country gets better. But there is a parallel world called the OTT, which is here to stay here. There’sa lot is difference between web content and that in films. So both the mediums will survive and that will only lead to a great future of the entertainment industry,” says the actor.

Sridevi was inspiration of Apna Time Bhi Aayega’s actress Tannaz Irani

After spending over 30 years in an industry that is now like home to her, Tannaz Irani has become a well renowned name, who is known to glide effortlessly from one role to another and essay a diverse portfolio of characters across the film and television industry. With each role that came by,  Tannaz has improved and bettered herself! While she currently essays the role of Rajeshwari in Zee TV’s family drama Apna Time Bhi Aayega, Tannaz reveals how she has also faced some massive challenges, especially with the language barrier in the entertainment industry and how Sridevi was one of her biggest role models.

While her effortless and flawless performance might not give you a hint, but during the early days in her career, Tannaz faced the struggle of adapting to the Hindi language, especially the grammar and pronunciations. However, she did not let this impact her performance. Narrating her experience, Tannaz revealed, “My biggest professional struggle was with the Hindi language. Pretty early in my career, I accepted that I had a very unique way of speaking the language and that my passion and understanding of my characters was far more superior than someone just correcting my grammar. I got around this and accepted myself first, especially when I saw people who knew the language better than me but lacked a basic instinct of how a scene should be performed. After realising this, it felt like a miniscule struggle that I had to surpass”

Talking about how Sridevi inspired her, Tannaz mentioned, “I observed a very important thing. Till their very last roles, stars like Sridevi and Hema Malini also never really spoke Hindi eloquently, but they handled the scene with their talent. In fact, very early on in my career, I was influenced by Sridevi ji. I realised that she struggled with the language barrier as well, however, she executed all her roles with finesse and performed them carefree and with a lot of passion. She has always been my muse and I have always looked up to her, especially seeing how far she came. I feel she is probably the only woman in Bollywood who has been such a humungous superstar and It’s nice to be influenced by such people who have overcome so many hardships.”

Now that we know where Tannaz gets her inspiration from, we can surely expect her to spice up Rajeshwari’s role especially in the upcoming episodes of Apna Time Bhi Aayega, where she tries to hide an important piece of evidence from Rani. But what does this evidence lead to?

Apna Time Bhi Aayega’s Megha Ray takes a precautionary off from the shoot after her parents test positive for COVID-19

Zee TV's recently launched fiction drama - Apna Time Bhi Aayega follows the inspirational narrative of Rani - the young daughter of a head staff member of an affluent family of Jaipur. Refusing to be tied down by her humble roots, Rani wants to break free from the shackles of her background to carve her own destiny. While the show has kept the audience entertained, Megha Ray who plays the role of Rani has not only impressed the viewers, but also inspired them. The actress has been shooting round the clock since she entered the show, however, looks like the viewers might see her on the show lesser than before. This is because the actress' parents have tested positive for COVID-19 and she is not only quarantining herself, but also taking care of them in this crucial battle against the virus.

Megha Ray actually stopped shooting from 31st March after coming to know about her parents' test results. While Megha also felt unwell, her test reports for COVID-19 are currently negative. Despite that, the actress decided to take precautionary measures by taking some time off from the shoot of Apna Time Bhi Aayega and quarantining herself at her house as she did display some symptoms of the infection. She also wanted to take care of her parents, whoare COVID positive. With support from her whole Apna Time Bhi Aayega team, she is helping her parents recuperate, while focusing on her health too.

As Megha Ray shared, “It’s been two weeks since my father tested positive for Covid-19 and while he had immediately self-isolated himself, my mother also tested positive for Covid-19 post Holi. I don’t know how they got infected as they don’t step out at all. On the other hand, I have been shooting for Apna Bhi Time Aayega and while I had fever along with cough and was feeling weak, my test results are currently negative. Actually, when I did my test initially, the first two reports came positive, however, the third version came out negative. We all were confused, so after consulting with my doctor, I got a CT scan done that revealed that my lungs have become congested which is consistent with people who have COVID-19 and as a precautionary measure and in the light of the safety of everyone else on the set as well as for my family, all of us are under home quarantine. I am also helping my parents recuperate. In fact, my father’s fever has subsided now, and I only have cough. However, my mother has high fever, back pain and weakness."

The actress further added, “We are resting as much as possible. After going through all this, I've realised that we definitely can’t take virus lightly. The persistent fever and body weakness is scary. But all we can do is take proper medications, stay positive and calm headed. I want to request all our fans to stay safe and indoors unless absolutely necessary. Everyone should wear masks whenever they step out, maintain social distance and wash their hands at regular intervals.”

In the meantime, while Megha recovers from her symptoms, viewers will see Rani being kidnapped by someone. On the other hand, Vikram (Pulkit Bhagia) and Kiara (Priyal Shah) have married each other accidentally and are now, trying to hide their marriage certificate from everyone in the family. In fact, Vikram has also started developing feelings for Kiara, but has she fallen in love with him as well?
