The CCL-II begins in January second week 2012 and ends insecond week of February.

THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN IS HIGHEST OPENING

Sony Pictures India announced today that THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: The Secret of the Unicorn easily smashed the record for Steven Spielberg’s biggest Indian opening as Director as well as the highest opening animated film in India. The film garnered approximately Rs. 7.35 crore at the three day box office with a 90-100% occupancy in most centres. THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN released with over 350 prints - a record-breaking number for an animated film - in both English and Hindi and in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D formats. 
The film was also a critical success garnering 3.5 to 4 ratings amongst all major reviewers. Snaking queues were seen outside theatres across the weekend. The film is also the first animated film to have made new inroads into smaller centres having opened simultaneously across India in smaller cities like Alwar, Gwalior, Akola, Amravati, Madurai, Salem, Trichur and many more. 
Mr. Kercy Daruwala, Managing Director - Sony Pictures India said, "Not only is the animated genre gaining ground amongst all age groups in India, but Tintin is unique in the sense that the franchise is enjoyed and appreciated by a very wide audience right from kids to adults who grew up on Tintin. Naturally, this is reflected in the wide release the film is getting in the country. The Adventures of Tintin has already garnered over $159m in box office collections through its recent release in Europe alone and has broken several records in countries like France and Belgium while sustaining strongly in the weeks following the initial release. India was the best new territory to open this week.   
Sony Pictures has several animated films in its line-up including Arthur Christmas on 9 December, The Pirates! in April 2012 and Hotel Transylvania in September 2012. Apart from these, the studio’s line-up is filled with blockbusters like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Men in Black 3, The Amazing Spider-Man and Skyfall (earlier known as Bond 23).

ROCKSTAR records a hugely successful opening weekend collection of Rs. 64 crore gross worldwide

Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd and Eros International’s magnum opus Rockstar has set the box office ablaze with a spectacular opening of Rs. 64 crore gross worldwide for Imtiaz Ali’s latest release Rockstar. The film released across more than 2,000 screens worldwide on 11th November 2011 and saw the seventh largest first day India opening in Bollywood's history.
Hailed as Ranbir Kapoor’s finest performance to date and his biggest ever opener, Rockstar has grossed Rs. 53 crore in India (Net collection: Rs. 37crore) and Rs. 11 crore overseas in its first three days.
