He says, “I think my life has completely changed with her. Akangsha is also a mind therapist/karmic healer. I couldn’t take my eyes off her the first time I saw her in an audition as I found her to be very beautiful. As people say that it's all destiny and we met again through a common friend, Vaibhavi and finally started dating.”
The multi-facetted Piyush has done theatre for 5 years and on TV, he has acted in ‘Geet’, ‘Pratigya’, ‘Ghar Ek Sapna’ and ‘Meet mila de rabba’ as a lead (Sardarji) as well as the dance show ‘Nach Le Ve’. He has played the role of Sharad in Ghar Ek Sapna and Aman Mathur in star plus serial, Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya; and was also seen in Zee's Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai. Shudra- Intreview of the director Sanjiv Jaiswal

SanjivJaiswal, the Directorand Producer of Shudra-The Rising had earlier produced Fareb with star cast of ShipaShetty, Manoj Bajpai and Shamita Shetty. Fareb was directed by Deepak Tijori. Hissecond film is raising the age old issue of castism where he has also turned todirection.
Please tell us about your movie Shudra-The rising. What made youcome up with this concept?
Sanjiv Jaiswal : It is completely based against Casteism.Hindu’s have four divisions - Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaish & Shudra. Inreality Casteism is like poison for any society. Through my film Shudra I want to show and tell peoplewhat happened in the social history of india…. That it is just our past. I wantthem to change their mindset and come up with new vision towards each other forbetter progression of the society and the country. Everybody thinks their castto be more superior as compared to others, which is not correct. Big crusadors likeGeorge Washington, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther, Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar havealways fought against this system of Casteism.

In UP &Punjab, screening of Aarakshan was banned unless few sceneswere edited. Do you think Shudra may face similar problem?
Sanjiv Jaiswal : Their subject was different, wheretheir promotion had given the impression that it is anti reservation.  May be because of that there were bans againstthem in three states. Mine is a social issue and its depicting history which isvery much true. So I don’t think any NGO or political party or any communitywould impede me.
Promos are giving impression of a Hollywood film. Is it true thisis the first film of cinematographer Pratik Deora as well?
Sanjiv Jaiswal : Yes, in fact the USP of Shudra is my entire cast and crew is completelynew and fresh. From director, writer, actors, music directors Cameramanetc….its their first project with their fresh and more innovative ideas.
Where did you source your artistes from? Was there any workshopconducted train them?
Sanjiv Jaiswal : They are all theaters artist from Mumbai because I neededperformers and not actors. For me my characters and my subject were moreimportant. We did a 20 day workshop but it was most unusual. Instead of takinga workshop trainer, I decided to hold a very practical activity for them. Ipicked na entire village of Harijans along with their animals, home businessand kids and relocated them in my shooting location. I left my actors in themiddle of these people and told them to live and learn their way of life. For20 days they lived, ate & slept with real villagers like them and by thetime we started the shoot, it was impossible to tell my actors from thevillagers. Whenever we needed any our artiste for a particular shot, we had toreally search for them amongst the crowd.
Is shudra samaaj supporting you from outside?
Sanjiv Jaiswal : Yes, few days back I was called inPune by Shudra samaaj people. They also shared with me lots of fact. Theyvalued my work and gifted me one of their book which had entire details about theirpast and samaaj. Each one of them was well studied and they appreciated myefforts to bring awareness about the realities of their life.
