Sujoy Ghosh all praise for Vidya Balan

As Viacom 18’sKahaani nears its release, director Sujoy Ghosh couldn’t be more excited andcredits a huge portion of the film to lead protagonist Vidya Balan, statingthat the film is more “her baby” than his own.
Viacom 18’s suspense thriller Kahaani tellsthe tale of a seven month pregnant Vidya Bagchi in search of her missinghusband alone in a festive city, with nothing to rely on except fragments fromher memories about him and when it comes to casting a woman of substance, thedirector could look no further than Vidya Balan.
Says Sujoy Ghosh" The story demanded a pregnant woman in the central role. We wanted awell known face since it is the demand of the film and we got it in Vidya. Sheis a delight of an actress because you just can't find any flaws in heracting." Not holding back on praise towards his lead actress he adds“Kahaani' is more of Vidya's baby than mine today. She had a certain belief inthe film and today she is proud of it. She was not just an actor on the film;she was much more than that. She knew everything about what was happening onthe production front. At times she even managed crowds when things became alittle unruly while shooting”
Ifthat wasn’t all ,the film’s script-writer Advaita Kala too says she developed thecharacter keeping Vidya in mind and always knew that the actress would dojustice to the roll – Says Advaita “I thought of Vidya as the 'hero' of my filmeven before 'The Dirty Picture' was released. I believe in telling storiesabout strong women.”
Ask director SujoyGhosh whether he is a bundle of nerves in the release week and he is quick toreply “There is no set formula that tells you whether a film will work or not.I wanted to work with Vidya and I have achieved that."
Directed by SujoyGhosh,Viacom 18’s Kahaani comes to a theatre near you 9th March2012.
