Karela juice ka kamaal!

The crew of Percept Pictures' Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal, directed by Priyadarshan, sure knows how to live up to its name. The latest of the pranksters who succeeded in pulling fast one on the unit members was Shreyas Talpade. Taking Nana Patekar and a sporting Shailendra Singh into confidence (Priyan stays out of these pranks unless it disturbs his shoot), Shreyas Talpade set about making karela juice for the cast. Calling it his morning ritual for radiant mind and an equally radiant skin, he made the unit come 30 minutes in advance an go through laughter therapy followed by karela juice ritual.
The unsuspecting unit members drank the juice only to realise that Shreyas had pulled a fast one on them. When Shreyas grinned ear to ear, and went back to his cup of coffee, someone had cleverly switched it with karela juice. No one to be perturbed, Shreyas drank the juice with a straight expression only to have everyone laughing.

When the unit discussed the joke with Priyan, he only had one thing to say, "if they have guts, tell them to pull it on Paresh!"
Need we say, the crew quietly went back to shoot!

Indian filmmaker Sidharth Srinivasan’s horror flickTraas being picked up by two international producers at Cannes.
Korea’s Finecut is teaming with the UK’s Rook Filmsand India’s Reel Illusion Films to co-produce  Indian horror film The Profane त्रास, written and directed by Sidharth Srinivasan.
This association marks an unusual collaboration of sorts withFinecut also acquiring the  internationalrights excluding India to the film.
Previously called The Penance (Samaadhi), Srinivasan's film waspresented at the HongKong Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) 香港亞洲電影投資會 and LocarnoFilm Festival's Open Doorsproject markets last year. He describes his film as a "truly Indian horrorfilm" that fulfils his desire to "explore the dynamics of a family incrisis through a minimalist chamber drama."
Srinivasan will produce through his ReelIllusion Films with Pete Tombs and Andy Starke of the UK’s Rook Films andFinecut’s Youngjoo Suh as co-producer.
Rook is a co-producer on UK director Ben Wheatley’s KillList (2011) and Sightseers, which is screening in this year’s Directors Fortnight. Wheatley will executiveproduce The Profane for Rook.
Benoît Debie (Irreversible)is on board as DoP, Dan Martin (TheWolfman) as SFX supervisor and Adil Hussain (Life Of Pi) to play apivotal character.
“Traas [the original Sanskrit title meaningdread] is the realisation of a long-cherished dream of mine – to make a trulyoriginal Indian genre film that is steeped in my own context yet has stronguniversal appeal owing to its emphasis on character and familial relationships,”adds Srinivasan.
Thefilm is indeed original, following the story of siblings who are with theirmother who wants to meet her end in the banks of Ganga at Varanasi. But onarrival, the mother falls into a coma sparking a deadly conflict between thedaughter, who wants to help her mother get to the other side, and the son, whosinks to grisly depths to keep her alive.
Avers Starke, “Traas is totally unique. Andy Starke says, "We're hoping for a film that will be asmuch of a stab in the heart for the genre movie as The Ring リング (1998) and Audition オーディション (1999)werein the late 90's and Old Boy 올드보이 (2003) and I Sawthe Devil 악마를 보았다(2010) have become. Finecut is the perfectpartner for Sidharth's incredible movie.”
Finecut’s Youngjoo Suh says: “This is exactly the kind ofproject that we’ve been looking out for. This oriental edgy gory horror willevoke sorrow and fear from within the deepest part of one’s mind. And I amcertain that this will become one of a kind genre film that embraces both westand east.”
Srinivasanhas previously directed drama Soul Of Sand, whichpremiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2010 and was laterpicked up by Global Film Initiative for North American release.

What happens when Desai and the benevolent Sohail Khan chance to meet?
