Bromance on Indian Idol
The stage of the
popular singing reality show Indian
Idol 6 has been witness to many a first but when the cast of Kya
Super Kool Hain Hum Riteish Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor visited the sets
for the fourth gala round it was a sight to behold.
The boys from the
upcoming film Kya
Super Kool Hain Hum created a fun filled atmosphere on the sets. They
joked, laughed and pulled the contestants leg. But the highlight of the evening
was Riteish Deshmukh, who set the stage on fire when he danced with host Hussain
Kuwajerwala. Hussain lifted Riteish’s leg and posed alike Jeetendra and Sridevi
like they did in the song ‘Naino
mein sapna’. The duo impersonated Jeetuji
and
Sridevi in the funniest way possible. Tusshar too couldn’t control
himself and joined them on stage. This impromptu jig had the judges and
contestants in splits and jumping off their seats.
Now this is called
Super
Kool entertainment!
YOMICS was launched at YRF Studios. Uday Chopra’s dream finally came true.
While
introducing YOMICS and his vision, Uday spoke about his passion
projct
“Comics,
or how we more aptly call them today, "Graphic Art", started almost 35,000 years
ago. No, I am not making this up. At that time in the area what is now Chauvet,
France, the people did not know, that what they were creating was the first
comic, but that’s what it pretty much was. I am referring to the prehistoric
cave paintings which are the oldest instances of man’s fascination with this
art.
“Comics
have been one of our oldest and most basic ways of expressing ourselves, and it
has been a fascination of mine from childhood right up till now.
“Graphic
Art as an industry has not seen much prominence in the world and even much less
here in India, yet when I look around myself, I can't help but notice that our
culture and everything that makes us Indian is steeped in color and imagery –
which is the very basis of Graphic Art. It is part of our customs and traditions
and even most of our religions are heavily dependent on that same color and
imagery.
“Having
so much of it around us in our culture, it is strange that we as a people have
not been able to adopt Graphic Art as a means of entertainment in a much bigger
way. Apart from that, I also believe that there is something very enjoyable and
entertaining about Graphic Art. It takes us into a world created by images,
eases us into its narrative through color, yet engages the mind just enough to
let us imagine it coming to life. It is
suspension of disbelief taken to an all new level and what one gets out of it is a unique and portable way of entertaining ourselves that we might have forgotten in the last 35,000 years or so.
suspension of disbelief taken to an all new level and what one gets out of it is a unique and portable way of entertaining ourselves that we might have forgotten in the last 35,000 years or so.
“My
endeavor is to bring this art and this form of entertainment back and use the
lure of our movies to help excite and entice the first lot of readers but that
will only be the beginning. For once you enter this world, I intend to take you
to new places and explore brand new characters and stories which I cannot do
through any other medium except this one.
“So
whether you are 10 or 80 there is no age that the fun needs to stop, there is no
age to stop believing in the fantastic and the unimaginable, there is no age
that should limit enjoyment of art of any kind.
“So for
the sake of a 35,000 year old art, take this journey with me and help me bring
the joy of comics back to you.
Asha Tai burns the dance floor
The latest season of the popular singing reality show Indian Idol 6 has been filled with surprises and the fourth gala round was no less. The boys from the upcoming film Kya Super Kool Hain Hum got the opportunity to shake a leg with none other than the legendary Asha Bhosle.
Riteish Deshmukh along with his super kool partner Tusshar Kapoor visited the sets of Indian Idol 6 for a fun filled episode. After all the performances were over, Riteish requested judge Asha Bhosle to join him on stage for a small jugalbandi round. Ashaji obliged and joined him on stage for a Marathi Jugalbandi. She mesmerized everyone with her Marathi songs and Riteish too joined in later to try his luck. The duo also moved to the beats and sporting as ever Ashaji too grooved with him. The sight was something to behold and everyone applauded Ashaji’s spirit.
From Peepli Live to musical Aalaap! DETAILS & PICS
Forthcoming musical movie Aalaap brings back Raghubeer Yadav and Onkardas Manikpuri together again after Peepli Live. They play brother-in-laws in Shri Shankaracharya Arts’ Aalaap, directed by Manish Manikpuri.
“We saw their chemistry earlier. We needed two noted artistes to play close relative to our male protagonist Rahul. I personally think they suit the best. It was an unanimous decision to include them in the starcast," says producer Nishant Tripathi.
Raghubeer Yadav plays a rickshaw puller and father of protagonist Rahul played by Amit Purohit. Onkardas Manikpuri is Rahul's maternal uncle. “It’s a character-driven film. They are shown poor but idealistic in the movie,” adds Abhishek Mishra. Playing Rahul’s father, Raghubeer Yadav is poor but a lovable father who helps his son in his journey of life. “There is no better choice than him to play the role of hero’s father. Above all, Onkardas Manikpuri hails from Chhattisgarh. So, he was the easy and obvious choice for us,” avers director Manish Manikpuri. As Aalaap is all set to release on July 27, the public awaits another interesting product of passion to hit the marquee. Interestingly, Murali Sharma essays a very challenging role in the film while Abhimanyu Singh excels in the role of a fearless cop who takes on the challenging task of combating naxalism.
