In this sequel to the hybrid live action/animated family blockbuster comedy The Smurfs, the evil wizard Gargamel creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence. But when he discovers that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants — and only a secret spell that Smurfette knows can turn the Naughties into real Smurfs — Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and brings her to Paris, where he has been winning the adoration of millions as the world’s greatest sorcerer. It's up to Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity to return to our world, reunite with their human friends Patrick and Grace Winslow, and rescue her! SRK WINS TWO AWARDS AT BIG STAR ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS

 

He is undoubtedly the best hero when it comes to romance and it is that time of the year when this fact gets acknowledged by awards. BIG Star Entertainment Awards gave Shah Rukh Khan two awards – The Entertainer Of The Year and Best Romantic On-Screen Couple along with co-star Katrina Kaif. The Entertainer of the Year as the best actor was given to Shah Rukh for his performance in late director Yash Chopra’s last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan(JTHJ). “Jab Tak Hai Jaan will always be a special film for me. I will always be thankful to Yash ji. I get really excited with awards. No matter how many I have got, they have the same affect on me, like they did when I was new in the industry. I almost become like a kid in the candy store,” said Shah Rukh.

Shah Rukh and Katrina got the Best Romantic On-Screen Couple for their appearance together in JTHJ. “This was the first time I worked with her and see what happened! Katrina is a very hardworking girl and it was a pleasure working with her. And as far as romance is concern, I am the best one here,”quips Shah Rukh.

Madhushree's ghazal magic!

Singing sensation Madhushree Bhattacharya, the voice behind innumerable Bollywood hit numbers, brought timeless ghazals from the silver screen and paid an ode to immortal ghazal maestros like Begum Akhter, Mehendi Hasan, Jagjit Singh, our industry legends like Madan Mohan, Shankar Jaikishen, Khayyam, Rajesh Roshan, SD Burman in her first ever ghazal concert titled 'Woh Jab Yaad Aaye... Bahut Yaad Aaye' this evening at St.Andrews Auditoirum in Bandra (W).

It was a star-studded affair which saw in attendance celebs like Shatrughan Sinha, Anup Jalota, Medha Jalota, Rajkumar Barjatya, Mir Ranjan Negi, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Sonalika Pradhan, Champak Jain of Venus, Saawan Kumar Tak and many others. Madhushree's husband Robby Badal was also there to support her. 

The show was divided into into two parts, the first half being the tribute ghazals, and the second half covering ghazals from films over the two hours that Madhushree brought the the pathos, tribulations and richness of this song form alive. Some of ghazals she sang included soulful numbers like Baat Niklegi Toh Door Tak Jayegi, Chitthi na Koi Sandes, Aaj Jaane Ki Zidd Naa Karo, Hothon Se Choolo tum, Saawan Ka Mahina Pawan Kare Shor and many others.

SRK HONOURED WITH THE BRANDLAUREATE LEGENDARY AWARD

Shah Rukh Khan on Thursday evening attended his friend and the 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohammad’s birthday and he was also awarded the prestigious BrandLaureate Legendary Award. The superstar was given this honour by the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation for his contributions to the Bollywood film industry and as India’s foremost brand ambassador. Shah Rukh was humbled by the honour given to him by Founder of Lord’s Tailor Mr Robert Loh, President of The BrandLaureate Dr KK Johan, and Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohammad. 

“It is an honour to be given the Brandlaureate Legendary Award. It is always a pleasure to be amongst friends and to be given so much love and motivation to do better,” said Shah Rukh. 

The BrandLaureate Legendary Award has been earlier given to the likes of Dr Nelson Mandela, Nobel Laureate recipient Mohammad Yunus, Ratan Tata, late Steve Jobs, Marck Zuckerburg, Michael Schumacher and more. 

In 2008 Shah Rukh had become the first Indian actor to be conferred with the prestigious Malaysian title of Datuk (equivalent of the British Knighthood) by the governor of Malaysia’s southern state of Malacca for promoting tourism through his movies in that region. Earlier this year, Shah Rukh became the first Indian film industry’s personality to be honoured with the prestigious Chubb fellowship at Yale University and very recently he was honoured with LÉtoile d’Or by Mohammaed VI, the King of Morocco during 12th International Film Festival of Marrakech twice in a row.
