Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah at 3rd Position in TAM ratings

 

This is the reason to celebrate. As per TAM ratings, daily comic serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is currently at Number 3 position with a TRP of 4.3. Since the ratings have opened after a long break, TMKOC has been amongst the top ten shows across channels and has been steadily climbing towards number one position. “We are indeed very happy. A show that is socially relevant family entertainer is watched by entire families. And believe me, it is an extremely tough job to maintain the constant interest of the viewers in comedy. We are all the time on our toes but we enjoy every moment of it. And inspite of completing 1000 plus episodes, we still have so many new ideas and stories to explore,” comments Asit Kumarr Modi.

Current track of the show is showcasing very tough times for Jethalal and Daya Ben. Jetha has lost the case against Gulabo in court. Very fan of Jethalal is wondering about his fate. Will he be able to come out of it and save his marriage and reputation? “I know that my husband is innocent. He loves me too much to go anywhere else but I don’t know how to prove it,” mumbles Daya ben. She is also worried about her own and her son’s future.

0110 International Digital Film Festival to open with Keanu Reeves globally acclaimed ‘Side By Side’

Rocognized as the Destination for New Wave Cinema in India, festival to be attended by industry figureheads including Sudhir Mishra, Anurag Kashyap, Q (Qaushik Mukherjee – director of Gandu), Roysten Able, Vikram Bhatt renowned Hollywood producer Jason Kilot, amongst others
· Announces high profile jury including Kabir Khan, Vinay Pathak and Sudhir Mishra amongst other eminent names
· Last year 135 films from over 55 countries were screened at 0110 IDDF

 Recognized as the destination for New Wave Cinema in India, the 0110 International Digital Film Festival 2013 (IDDF 2013) today announced that the Keanu Reeves produced and Christopher Kenneally directed globally acclaimed Documentary ‘Side By Side’ would be the opening film for the festival. In addition the organizers also announced a high profile jury including Kabir Khan, Vinay Pathak and Sudhir Mishraamongst other eminent names.

This year, like in the previous editions, the festival is slated to draw big names including industry figureheads such as Sudhir Mishra, Anurag Kashyap, Q (Qaushik Mukherjee – director of Gandu), Roysten Able, Vikram Bhatt and renowned Hollywood producer Jason Kilot, amongst others.

“The festival is not limited to competing and screening of cinema, it is a destination for genuine cinema centric education with interactive workshops and seminars headed by some of the most prominent names of the fraternity. “0110 IDFF’s core aim is to promote the all pervasive digital medium of cinema but more importantly to bridge the gap between indigenous and international cinema. Creating a common platform for liberal interactions and exchange, broadening the horizon of Indian cinema and film makers as a whole” says Madhureeta Anand, Festival Director, who is also responsible for the conceptualization of the festival. “The success of any endeavor lies in the amalgamation of the new and the old” she adds.

An annual event, 0110 IDFF is a platform which upholds the format of digital film making and acknowledges the fact that digital format has metamorphosed in to a well-accepted medium from a limited medium of filmmaking. It continues to be an exclusive medium of interaction between global filmmakers using the digital medium. Eminent film personas such as Tabu, Anurag Kashyap, Raima Sen, Vinay Pathak, Sudhir Misra and many more have associated with 0110 IDFF in the past.

The festival is categorized in such a way that that it touches all faculties of digital cinema which includes feature films, documentaries, films made by students, films shot on mobiles, digital art installations and animation and special effects.

The fifth edition of this festival will commence from 26^th January 2013 to 1^stFebruary 2013 at The India Habitat Centre, New Delhi where the focus would be more on movie screenings and then travel to Whistling Woods¸ Mumbai from the 2^nd January 2013 till the 8^th February 2013, where in addition to the screenings there would also be a weeklong itinerary of industry workshops and seminars in addition to the screenings.

Sher Khan becomes bigger in Zanjeer!!

 

Seeing the overwhelming response to Sanjay Dutt’s look in Apoorva Lakhia’s ‘Zanjeer’ the makers have now decided to make Sanju Baba’s role more substantial and increase the length of it! Dutt's role has been re-worked upon and the team is more then happy with the way the film is shaping up.

The uber cool actor plays the iconic role of Sher Khan, a character made famous by Pran in the original film. A source close to the film reveals that after Dutt’s negative character as ‘Kaancha Cheena’ in Agneepath his new look as Sher Khan has attracted a lot of interest therefore we would be adding a song and few action sequences featuring Sanju baba!

It is also learnt that the makers of the film went to meet veteran actor Pran who is recuperating in the hospital to inquire about his health & well being and while they were talking the evergreen actor went on to say “No one can play Sher Khan better than Sanju”

Confirming about the development Apoorva Lakhia said “Yes! He has given us extended dates and we are going to shoot in February. We are very excited about the film. I am really happy to work with Sanju Sir again after Shootout in Lokhandwala (2007)

Kapil Mehra, the flamboyant steel, cement and coal businessman brought in his birthday this week with some amazing Sufi fare at a plush suburban Bandra club.

Having been in the field of entertainment for over a decade, Mehra's choice of percussionist Hiten Panwar and his Sufiyana band were very well received by the audiences, as he seemed to know exactly what his distinguished guests comprising of the who's who of the corporate and entertainment world would be enthralled with.
