Sunny Leone denies rape statement

Actress Sunny Leone has denied making any statement on rape on her twitter account. A section of the online media was abuzz with the news that Sunny had tweeted that “Rape is surprise sex.”

But then that was only after one, Kamaal Rashid Khan had mentioned on his twitter timeline that Sunny had said something to this effect. Kamaal Khan tweeted the above on January 31, when Sunny was busy filming ‘Ragini MMS-2’ in Mumbai.

Some sections of the online media, in an urge to jump the gun, did not verify the same, and ran the news that Sunny had deleted the tweet after putting it up.

“In normal cases, I would have ignored this man’s tweet. But it became an issue and I am not insensitive. Being a woman, I am not one to make a loose comment on rape. At a time when the country is in the aftermath of what happened in New Delhi, it is disgusting for someone to make a joke out of this. I strongly condemn the man’s incorrect and insensitive statement and his false accusation of me having made a callous remark like that,” says Sunny, who has sent a written complaint to the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell of the Mumbai Police, urging action.

The actress was earlier approached for a role by Kamaal Rashid Khan and she had refused the same. “I was informed by my manager and husband that this man had earlier offered me a film. We had refused. Maybe this is his way of getting back at us,” remarks Leone.

‘I too deserve Justice” says Sohan Roy, the director of DAM999, at Jaipur International Film Festival. He was commenting about the lifting of the possible ban exerted on ‘Vishwaroopa’ by Tamil Nadu government.

“I am happy for Kamal that he may see a possible light for his movie “Vishwaroopa” in Tamil Nadu, in fact he should see it through. But why only am I sidelined .Why my movie DAM999 which is struggling for the last 2 years to get released is still being ignored by the same government?
Tamil Nadu government had banned the release of DAM999 in Tamil Nadu in fear of causing political unrest in the state. The entire controversy was deeply rooted in the political tug of war between the State of Tamilnadu and Kerala over the Mullapperiyar dam.
‘Vishwaroopa’ was banned because of the protest raised by the Muslim community against certain provocative religious contents in the film. DAM999 has raised a social issue into the mainstream which is only concerned about the safety threats associated with age old dams. The viewer community who had watched the Malayalam and English version of DAM 999 are of the opinion that there is no such scene which could have caused issues between the states .The director is upset with the fact that the Govt was reluctant to even watch the movie screening in spite of many requests by the producers of the movie who are from Kerala.
‘I have got great respect for Kamal Hassan. He is a great actor and filmmaker. I too pray for him. But don’t you think I am also a human and I too deserve justice. I have lost crores of money by not getting a release. At least let me get some justice.”
Released on 25^th November 2011, DAM999, a tribute to the 1975 Banqiao Dam disaster in China which claimed 250,000 innocent lives, was banned in the state of Tamil Nadu on unruly grounds.

Saint Dracula 3D at Jaipur International Film Festival

 Biz TV Networks and Rupesh Paul ‘s forthcoming horror movie Saint Dracula 3D will be screened at the prestigious Jaipur International Film Festival this year.

The preview screening will be held on the 2nd of February 2013 at screen 2. Speaking about his experience on the movie director Rupesh Paul said “Saint Dracula is essentially the story of love and passion. While building up the script of ‘Saint Dracula’ I went through the most thumping love experience of my life. It was in the air; it touched me and distilled me. This exceedingly weird and wonderful personal experience facilitated the script. In another state of mind and love, this would not have been possible.”

Saint Dracula 3D was also widely acknowledged and appreciated for its theme and demeanor at Cannes Film Market, Berlin Film Market and American Film Market and was specially honored by the Motion Picture Association of Antigua (West Indies). The movie is slated to release all across India in March 2013.

True to the spirit of the film producers Rahul Mittra and director Tigmanshu Dhulia had a very royal ambience for the release of the first look of their film in Mumbai. The entire venue was decorated with palatial settings. The stars came one by one in vintage cars. While Irrfan arrived in a 1952 Chysler, Mahie Gill made an appearance in a 1932 for. Soha came in with a 1933 Ford, Jimmy in a 1947 Buick and Tigmanshu Dhulia himself in a 1951 Pontiac.

Jimmy was dressed to the core as the Maharaja in a Sherwani and a turban. Soha came in a Pink Ghagra resplendent in antique jewelry. Mahie Gill looked every bit the Biwi of the film in a blue sari adorned with gold jewellery and Irrfan added to the cast looking every bit the nawabi gangster that he is.

The stars enacted a scene from the film with their signature dialogues. But it was Irrfan’s entry on a bike that took away all the accolades. Speaking at the event director Tigmanshu Dhulia said that the subject of this royal family has interested him since his younger days. “I am from Allahabad and a history student. I have love for history,” he said.

The film being produced by Brand smith Motion Pictures and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures is all set for March 8 release.
