YRF & Dibakar Banerjee Reboot “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!”

The mystery unfolds in cinemas worldwide on 12 Dec 2014
Friday, June 28, 2013: The co-production venture of YRF & Dibakar Banerjee Productions (DBP) announces its first directorial outing with Dibakar“DETECTIVE BYOMKESH BAKSHY!”
"We are rebooting Byomkesh. Right back to his first ever case. We could have called this Byomkesh Begins. Everything else from now on will follow us!" says Dibakar, tongue in cheek. In a contemporary interpretation of war torn Calcutta during the 1940’s, the film follows the first adventure of Byomkesh, fresh out of college, as he pits himself against an evil genius who is out to destroy the world. "It’s his wits against the most villainous arch criminal the world has seen, in a world of murder, international political intrigue and seduction"
This is the first in a series that will feature Bengali bestseller writer Saradindu Banerjee's most famous creation and India's widest read and best known detective character for the first time in a Hindi feature.
"Sushant Singh Rajput has that dormant volcano thing about him that is just right for my Byomkesh." Says Dibakar of his leading man, "He looks so quiet, so self-absorbed and withdrawn - till you challenge him. Then he explodes and becomes the most dangerous man in the world - at least for the criminals."
The director and the lead are working hard to get the character, feel and the spectacle of the period thriller that starts shooting January 2014.

Now these are interesting facts. Rich Gujjars must buy a white Scorpio to show his status, wealth and style. It is only after getting atleast two White Scorpios that they may indulge in Audi, BMW, Mercedes or any other such vehicle. However, while they travel in Scorpio, other vehicles are used for other purposes like carrying Chaara (fodder) for their cows, ration for home, ferrying around kids etc. “it was quite funny. I actually saw one Audi filled with animal fodder at Bhatta Pasaul village.  But then they are also open hearted once they accept you as friend. The head of this village loaned us his own house to shoot in, their own Scorpios, white shoes etc for the shoot. They would even cook home food everyday for me and Annu Kapoor,” smiles the director Girish Juneja.  “In fact the Sarpanch shown in the film is actually the head of the village himself,” adds the producer Jagdish Gupta.
A rib tickling, super sarcastic, unique story of razor sharp wit, ‘MUAVZA’ is focusing on the lives of Nuevo Rich of Delhi & NCR. How expansion of Delhi and NCR into neighboring villages has turned worthless lands also of few villagers into millions. Their absolutely hilarious way of spending money gives an insight into their characters.
With an ensemble star cast of Annu Kapoor, Akhilendra Mishra, Pankaj Beri, Govind Pandey, Deepak Verma,  Tejinder, Kamlesh Gill, Manoj Bakshi and others, ‘MUAVZA’  meaning compensation, is produced by Jagdish Gupta under the banner of Jagson Entertainment Company and directed & written by Girish Juneja. It’s music is by Upmanyu Bhanot, Editor is Sanjay Sankla while creative director is Aslam Khan. Under the able guidance of Chairman Mr. Jagdish P. Gupta, Jagson Entertainment Company believes in progressive and entertaining cinema

MARYAM AND SCARLETT’S DANCE CATCHES TUSSHAR, RANVIR & VINAY’S ATTENTION!

It was a known fact on the sets of director Shashant A Shah’s next film Bajatey Raho that punctuality is very important for him. But it was hard to get Tusshar, Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey to wake up on winter mornings in Delhi and head off to shoot leaving their cosy warm beds. So on the day when Shashant was to shoot with actresses Maryam Zakaria and Scarlett Wilson, the director was taken aback to see the three boys in their full avatar on the sets.
“I was completely shocked to see them, in their shooting avatar all ready to shoot in time on a day they didn’t have to shoot because I was shooting a song that day,” says Shashant laughing. But later Shashant realised that the boy gang was there on a non-shooting day because of the two beautiful damsels Maryam and Scarlett.
Tusshar, Vinay and Ranvir spent the whole day and night in their get-ups without shooting, just to watch the two actresses dance. “I actually thought that the next time I want to call the guys on time, I will tell them that Maryam and Scarlett are coming to shoot the song again,” quips Shashant.
Bajatey Raho takes us through a journey where all hell has broken loose and it’s only the crooks left to rule the roost. Now the only way left to fight Evil is con against a con. When Sabbarwahl (Ravi Kishan) is on a roll committing a series of frauds, all in the garb of a successful business entrepreneur, little does he know that one of his misdoings has created a huge impact on the lives of 4 poor sods: Mrs. Baweja (Dolly Ahluwalia), Sukhi (Tusshar), Mintoo Hasan (Vinay Pathak) and Ballu (Ranvir Shorey). This is turn has only resulted into an enormous wave of need for vengeance. And when Mrs. Baweja decides to take things in her hand, there is no more stopping the good hearted underdog who have to become a ‘little BAD’ to fight the ‘very BAD’. Because at the end of it all Happy Ending it is… but all you will want to say is ‘Bajatey Raho’!
The film is produced by Eros International and co-produced by Multi Screen Media Motion Pictures. MSM Motion Pictures will mark their debut as producer with his film. The film is set to release on 26th July.
