At the last minute Asit Modi organized an impromptu get together of cast and crew to watch the special episode of 28th together. besides the technical team, producers Asit and Neela Modi actors who turned up to watch it with their families were Dilip Joshi, Disha Wakani, Neha Mehta, Bhavya Gandhi, Sonalika Joshi, Mandar Chandwadkar, Amit Bhatt, Shyam Pathak, Moonmoon Dutta, Azad kavi, Ambika Ranjankar, Sankla, Tanmay Vekaria, Ghanshyam Nayak, Daya Shankar Pandey,  and many others.
Commented Dilip Joshi before cutting the cake, “ Fiev years….. its unbelievable…. To maintain such love and loyalty fo viewers in a sitcom is unheard of. But real credit goes to our writers Raju & Rajen bhai and asit ji. Abbas, Jeetu, Uma ji… they all bring in the real soul of the show, we actors only add some tadka with our performances but these are the real heroes.” Adds Asit Modi, “we have proved all our naysayers wrong.  A beautiful laughter riot comedy coming from the famous characters like Dayaben and Jetha lal, Popatlal, Bhide, Champaklal, Babitaji, Tappu, Sodhis, Taarak Mehta, Anjali bhabhi, Nattu Kaka, Dr & Mrs Haathi,  Iyyer, Abdul… and all have become brand names. It is still as fresh as it was in the start of the show. TMKOC has been changing everyone’s opinion all these five years which depicts the day to day situations that happen in every home and how they are tackled accordingly by the members of the Society all together. Every episode has been a master piece in itself which never gets low on the series of laughter for its audience of all age groups. I would call it a satirical parody of happenings that also inculcates many ethical values to the spectators. I congratulate my complete team for their success”
Five years and still going strong as most popular show. Sounds difficult but this is something that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has managed to do with apparent ease and enjoyment. Asit Kumarr Modi’s, the man behind the show, dream project had kick started five years back with lots of apprehension, hopes, dreams and prophesies.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is a daily comedy show on day to day happenings. The characters have all grown so well in their comic part that viewers watch the show with so much of love and a guaranteed hope of knowing the fact that they are going to get their laughter dose of the day again. A very close knit- neighborhood is portrayed which has been binding the audiences along for all these 5 years with jokes and actions, which bring smile on the faces of spectators.
Apart from the fact of entertainment it is also showing the bond of neighborhood with different religion, the show even highlights civic sense which guides many to lead a good social life. Tarak Mehta ka oolta Chasma is widely considered to be one of the greatest comical television series of all time. “But no show can be successful without team support. My writers, directors, my creative advisors, my technicians…. All have been instrumental in making it a continuous success. I specially want to thank M.P. Singh, Anuj Kapoor & Daya Shankar Pandey for their support and creative inputs. TMKOC has been a journey of my belief, patience, passion and conviction. I thank all who have been with me in this beautiful journey,” he adds.
