John Abraham travels to Chennai to launch the Tamil trailer of Madras Cafe

John Abraham travels to Chennai today to launch the trailer of the Tamil version of Madras Cafe.The political thriller dubbed in Tamil will see its release on the 23rd August.

Confirming the news says director Shoojit Sircar, “Yes we will be dubbing Madras Cafe in Tamil since John and I wanted to ensure better reach to our South audiences. John will be in Chennai to launch the trailer .This makes us very happy as the milieu of the film is set there”.

While the film is a fictional account of a subject ,it touches upon true events that took place between the late 80's and early 90's .

Says a source, "John is taking personal interest to ensure that the dubbing takes place smoothly,he wants to ensure that the film receives a warm reception in Tamil Nadu and across the world.While there was several speculation on vested interests demanding for the film to be banned - The makers of Madras Cafe have reiterated that in no way does the content of the film look to offend anyone's sentiments and look forward to the south audiences enjoying the film".

Adds Sircar, “As a conscious citizen, I know how sensitive the issue is. The film is entirely an unbiased perspective”.

Presented by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and  JA Entertainment and produced by Rising Sun Films and JA Entertainment , Madras Cafe ,directed by Shoojit Sircar is scheduled to release 23rd August 2013.

Vipul Shah signs Deven Bhojani to direct his very 1st Bollywood Film!!

Vipul Shah always believes in giving a chance to fresh new talents!! We hear that director-producer Vipul Shah who gave the multi-talented actor Deven Bhojani his 1^st big role in television serial ‘Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka’ has now signed him and brought him on board to direct his 1^st Bollywood Film!! The talented actor Deven Bhojani who made waves with his classic performances on TV will now be seen directing a completely Fresh Romantic Comedy for Vipul Shah!! A source close to the team said, “ Vipul Shah always believes in giving new talents a chance. Deven has already directed TV series ‘Sarabhai V/s Sarabhai which had become a rage amongst the audiences. And if we go by the records, many successful Bollywood directors like Imtiaz Ali, Anurag Basu, Anand Rai hail from the the TV industry. Infact even Vipul Shah who is giving Deven a break is also from the TV industry. And we are very happy to have him on board to direct his very 1st film."

Chennai Express to bring Kolkata jhaal muri, Delhi chaat and Mumbai bhel

 

As Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express rolls in this week, select cinema halls in the country will have audiences getting a taste of some delicious snacks from different Indian states. 

If you are wondering how, we can let you in on a little secret. The exhibitor chain Rathi Group of Cinemas has tied up with the 60-year-old Kolkata-based company Mukharochak Foods to offer popular snack dishes like jhaal muri from Kolkata, kabuli chana chaat from Delhi and bhel from Mumbai at some of their theaters in their cinema hall chain. 

Starting with Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express starring SRK and Deepika Padukone with a special song dedicated to none other than Rajnikanth, the mouth-watering experience will extend to Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara! (OUATIMD) starring Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha; closely followed by Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha starring Amitabh Bachchan with Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor. 

OUATIMD producer Ekta Kapoor is kicked about the idea! “It’s a novel initiative in elevating the viewer’s movie-watching experience,” she quips. 

Akshaye Rathi, the brain behind the association with the Kolkata-based company, sums it up saying, “Indians are passionate about films and food, so it can’t get better than offering the best of both worlds”. Indeed, with path-breaking marketing concepts such as these, Bollywood sure is on a fun romp.

“GUNDAY” brings together YASH RAJ FILMS and BAPPI LAHIRI for the very first time

YRF’s Gunday starring Ranveer Singh & Arjun Kapoor, along with Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan, in lead roles will see Bappi Da in action! It’s hard to imagine Hindi music of the 80’s without Bappi Lahiri. Even harder to fathom pop music from Kolkata minus its beloved Bappi Da. So, when director Ali Abbas Zafar decided to make a cabaret song for Gunday, set in Calcutta of the 80’s, Bappi da was an inevitable choice.  It brings together YRF and Bappi da for the very first time.  

“For months we were trying to come up with this Cabaret song, but a good melody was eluding us”, says Sohail Sen, the composer of Gunday. “It is meant to be Priyanka Chopra’s introduction song in the film, it had to be special.” Then one day, a melody fell into place. It was bang on. It’s a number that combines jazz with brass and drums, something that was hugely popular in those days. With not too many days left for the shoot, the team got into action immediately.  

Neha Bhasin, who had earlier sung Dhunki from YRF’s Mere Brother Ki Dulhan was roped in to be Priyanka’s voice for this song. And when it came to the male voice for Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, both Ali and Sohail were very clear – “It had to be Bappi da”.  In contemporary times, his is perhaps the only voice that strikes a chord with all age groups. And the magic that he generates is something only he alone can do. 

Bappi da was thrilled to be a part of Gunday. He added some of his characteristic nuances to the song that were a rage in the 80s. “I’m very excited to be a part of this, I have worked with Sohail’s father Sameer many years ago and now I’m working with his talented son. This song is a guaranteed crowd puller, especially in Kolkata.”  

Gunday is slated to release on Valentine’s Day, 14^th February 2014. It is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and Produced by Aditya Chopra.
