SHUDDH DESI ROMANCE AT TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

 

When the 3 film old, young and rising star Parineeti Chopra landed at the Toronto International Film Festival to present her latest film “Shuddh Desi Romance” on Wednesday September 9th, along with Director Maneesh Sharma and Screenwriter Jaideep Sahni, none of them were quite prepared for the kind of warm reception they received from the fans in Canada.  

It would have been a treat for the delighted crowd to see Parineeti’s co stars – lead actor Sushant Singh Rajput but a family emergency kept him from attending whilst an ongoing film shoot required debutant actress Vaani Kapoor stay back in India too. 

The trio had a hectic though eventful day to say the least, with the official TIFF photo call kicking off the proceedings early morning, press conferences, press junkets, more photoshoots, the day ended with a bang when the 3 walked the red carpet for the Canadian premiere of “Shuddh Desi Romance” at the prestigious Roy Thomson Hall, to loyal fans who waited to catch a glimpse of the Desi team, despite the unexpected rainfall.  

Maneesh Sharma, Jaideep Sahni and Parineeti Chopra reciprocated the love by coming back from the press interviews for round 2 of screams, autographs and photographs with the fans. 

Speaking to a sold out crowd of almost 2000 strong Indian and mainstream audiences, Cameron Baily (Creative Director-  TIFF), expressed his on-going support to Indian cinema and applauded YRF for their continued support of TIFF with innovative cinema that push boundaries. 

“Shuddh Desi Romance” releases in Canada Friday 13th September and has already received a rave response from movie goers and critics since its release in India.

Fox Star Studios & A R Murugadoss’ RAJA RANI to release worldwide on 27th September 2013

Production  and distribution giant Fox Star Studios and ace film maker and producer A R Murugadoss’ third Tamil venture , RAJA RANI will have a worldwide release on September 27th 2013. Produced in association with The Next Big Film Venture and  directed by Atlee, the film toplines a stellar ensemble cast led by Arya, Nayanthara and featuring Jai , Nazriya, Santhanam, Sathyan and Sathyaraj making it one of the most awaited films of the year.  

 The film’s music set by G V Prakash is already a rage and has contributed tremendously in creating a massive buzz about the film – across all age groups.  With the censor giving it a U Certificate, the film is set to capture the space of the biggest family entertainer of the year. 

A R Murugadoss who along with Fox Star Studios, has given two break away hits, Engaeyum Eppothum and Vathikuchi, in 2011 and 2013, is looking forward to sharing the film with the cinema lovers. He says, “I have full faith RAJA RANI will get a thumbs up from the audiences. I was overwhelmed and laughed and cried in parts through the film. Curious Case of Bats in Sony Tv’s Adaalat

Adaalat on Sony TV, has left a mark on the viewers with its interesting story line which is very entertaining as it revolves around a defense lawyer  (K.D Pathank a.k.a Ronit Roy), who fights his each case to set free the innocent victims. In the upcoming episode,   Hiren who had been accused of the murder of his parents is now released from the asylum. He goes back to his house where the murder had taken place. The other members of the family are not happy with Hiren around.  Hiren sees these dark shadows near the window pane and starts screaming. Later we see bats hanging from the window pane which make him scared. There are two more murders that take place and Hiren is running with blood on his clothes which make people think he is the murderer.  KD on meeting him finds about his behavior weird .The situation becomes worse when another murder takes place in d court premises and it was Hiren who ran into that room and locked it. Later when cops went there he was sitting at a corner and scared looking at the body.

How will KD save Hiren now? Why does he get scared looking at the bats?

Jacqueline Fernandez plays host to Karan Johar and the team of Bombay Velvet in Sri Lanka

While shooting for Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet in Sri Lanka,producer-director and now actor Karan Johar had a blast down south ,courtesy Jacqueline Fernandez ,who played guide to him while he and the crew shot for the film in her hometown.

Though busy with her professional commitments, Jacqueline stayed in constant touch with Karan,updating him on the best restaurant ants and all Sri Lankan  hotspots and attractions. Says Jacqueline, “I was really excited to hear that the Bombay Velvet crew was shooting in Sri Lanka and wished KJo and team a good stay”.

Kareena Kapoor to auction saree for the Tiger Eye Hospital

Despite being in the midst of promotional activities for her upcoming next, Bollywood’s Numero Uno Kareena Kapoor has jetted off to London, where she will join Saif Ali Khan as the duo will together attend an auction hosted by the Pataudi family, to raise funds for the new Tiger Eye Hospital.

The actress will auction her signature Chammak Challo saree from the film Ra.One – proceeds of which will go towards the hospital, whose endeavour has been to help visually challenged people .

The auction, to be held in London, will see author Jeffrey Archer wielding the hammer.Apart from Kareena’s saree, the auction will also see a tee signed by footballer Lionel Messi and a bat autographed by Rahul Dravid to name a few.
