Tigmanshu Dhulia’s much anticipated action drama film ‘Bullett Raja’ is all set to release on 29th November!!
The long shooting schedule which went on for a couple of  months, gave the actors Saif Ali Khan and Jimmy Shergill quite a lot of time to spend on the sets as well as off the sets!
Our little birdie tells us that Saif & Jimmy Shergill have earlier worked together on films like Eklavya and Hum Tum but due to differences in their hectic shooting schedules, the two never really had a chance to be together for a long time and connect as co-actors.
But with Bullett Raja’s long shooting schedules in Lucknow and Kolkata the actors bonded with each other... And well over what? Their passion for gym!!
A source close to the team said, “Saif and Jimmy both are very passionate about working out. The team was asked to give them a break in the evening so that they could go to the gym. Apart from discussing about their daily regime in the gym the boys were seen discussing about their love for the lucknowi food, films, gadgets and much more!!
Well, do we see a new budding friendship here? Watch this space for more updates!

Kheta Hai Dil... Jee Le Zara (21st Oct to 24th Oct)

EPISODE 35 – Monday, 21st October
Dv tells Dilshad that he will make sure Saachi feels the same love he does. Dilshad asks him how he is going to do that when she doesn’t even want to be in the same room as him. DV says that’s what he is going to achieve. Catch her alone as much as he can so she can know how much they feel for each other. Dv arrives at the Prabhu household the next day. He explains to everyone that he has decided to make halwa and needs a recipe. Nani says Saachi makes the best halwa so he should leasrn it from her. Saachi refuses initially but Aaji and others insist. DV and Saachi are in the kitchen making halwa. Dv pesters Saachi about what her answer is… He keeps asking her about her feelings. Saachi through her clenched teeth and a fake smile keeps thwarting his advances. “Please leave me alone and let’s be civil when we meet in front of people!” says Saachi as DV is giving finishing topuches to the halwa. Saachi walks away. DV smiles watching her leave. When DV gives the halwa to Aaji, she spits it out. It’s horrible! Dv bumps into Pradeep at the market. Pradeep is sarcastic and asks DV if his degree in law was a fake. And if it isn’t then he should ask for a refund. DV says he has just won the battle but the war will be won by Saachi. Pradeep says, “Unfortunately people like you think that wars are fought in court rooms… I fight my wars on the ground level. I know the Prabhu family too well… They believe too much in emotions and I know how to use them!” DV wonders what Pradeep means. Prachi has come home to visit and to discuss the karwa chauth that she is keeping. Saachi asks her about how her life with the in laws is going and Prachi as usual complains that the mother in law is still peeved at the way Saachi behaved with Rishi. Saachi explains that as time passes things will get better. Prachi also cribs about having to keep karwa chauth and how tough it is going to be. Saachi says it’s not so difficult. Prachi hits back, “Kehna aasaan hai!” Saachi says ,”Toh karke dikhati hoon… Tumhare saath main bhi rakhungi… Bas?” Prachi is thrilled to have some company. Aaji and Saachi are arguing vehemently. Saachi says she cannot back out after going so far with the case. “I will find a way!” she asserts. Aaji says her ways have only caused everyone tension. “Koi zaroorat nahi hai case ladhne ki… Uski zameen hai… Jo chahe karey us se! Tumhe us se kya?” thunders Aaji. Saachi can’t believe that Aaji is on Pradeep’s side. Aaji says, “If it wasn’t for him  Nani would have died! And if it wasn’t for the case saachi would probably have been home! Is business ke chakkar mein tum zindagi ko bhool rahi ho Saachi! Kya hoga kal ko jab hum sab mar jayenge aur sirf yeh zameen hogi tumhare paas?”  Nani calms Aaji down and explains to Saachi, “You still have your side of it and whatever you produce from that use it for your jams… In case you need more then get the strawberries from elsewhere but please don’t fight!” Saachi doesn’t say anything and is non-committal. Dilshad comes to DV and informs him that she is keeping karwa chauth the next day alongwith Prachi and Saachi. DV is surprised that Saachi is keeping it and gets a brainwave. He hugs Dilshad and says she is a savior for getting this news. “Ab dekhna… Saachi ka karwa chauth mere haathon tootega!”

EPISODE 36 – Tuesday, 22nd October
Karwa Chauth morning ceremony where Nani explains the significance of the festival to Saachi, Prachi and Dilshaad. As the path goes on Dv watches Saachi. A play out of the festivities. DV catches Saachi alone and starts to play passionately with her. She gets angry and tries to thwart it when DV reveals that he needs some detail regarding the case as he has applied for the duplicates of the papers lost at the collector’s office. She will receive it in fifteen days. Saachi is still defiant and walks away. Saachi is searching through her cupboard for the file to get the detail that DV wanted when Aaji walks in. When Aaji finds Saachi looking through the case file she gets upset that despite her outburst Saachi is still going ahead with the case. Saachi avoids the conversation and says she will discuss it later as it’s karwa chauth. Karwa chauth festivities of the afternoon begin and Deeplai lands up with Pradeep as does Sunil with his mother and sister. Prachi’s mother in law is a bit bitchy about Saachi keeping the vrat. The rituals play out as we also see a moment between Sunil and Pradeep (seeded to get them together subsequently against Saachi) Pradeep sees Dv and asks Saachi “Ab bhi yeh lawyer hai tumhara?” Pradeep laughs. “Kya hua Saachi? Umr ke saath saath bahut narm hoti jaa rahi ho… Case haarne ke baad bhi nahi nikala isey? Agar yehi baat chaar saal pehle hui hoti toh jis lawyer ne nahi jitaya usey toh phenk deti uthake!” Saachi says that they lost the case because she lost the papers but now they had applied for a fresh set and will probably get it within fifteen days. Pradeep is immediately alert. Aaji and Nani look at each other as if to worry that Saachi has not given up her decision to fight the case. Deepali points out that DV cannot be thrown out because he is not just her lawyer but something more. Saachi is shocked and doesn’t know what is coming when Deepali elaborates that he is also their neighbor. Saachi is relieved. The rituals go on. Pradeep is on the phone and gives details of the new development to someone. “Jitna ziddi samjha tha us se zyada nikli… Lekin main usey tod doonga… Aap sirf us officer se kehke pandrah ki jagah ek mahine baad dilwaiye duplicate… Tab tak main yahan chakkar chala doonga!” Dv accosts Saachi again and this time whispers in her ears that he will make sure that she breaks the vrat at his hands. Saachi sneers and walks away. DV has a couple of moments with her where she manages to evade his attention. Finally it’s time to break the fast and DV arrives and announces that he has made halwa successfully this time and that he will feed everyone personally. Each of the family-member has the sweet and even though she tries to avoid it Saachi has no choice but to finally eat it from DV’s hand. DV gives a triumphant look to Dilshad and winks at her. Dilshad grins widely. Saachi is angry
EPISODE 37 – Wednesday, 23rd October
Saachi gets a call that her consignment has come back from the client because of wrong labeling. She is given 12 hours to rectify the error. Saachi rushes to the office where Mugdha waits alone as no one is in. Mugdha also tells her that she has to go home in two hours.  Saachi and Mugdha start the relabeling process. Dv comes to help them but Saachi refuses his help. Dv is standing outside in the rain as Saachi refuses to open the door. Eventually she relents when its time for Mugdha to leave. DV starts to label the bottles with Saachi. Hot, sweet and sour moments between Saachi and Dv play out as the ten hours pass. DV finishes his labeling and sleeps. Mugdha arrives in the morning and finds that the labeling is perfect.  Dv begins to leave when Saachi says, “Thanks!” Dv is over the moon and smiles. Dilshad arrives to inform Saachi that DV has high fever and the temperature is not coming down.  Saachi doesn’t believe Dilshad and says, “This is the problem with him… Just because I smiled and said `Thanks’ his pranks have begun again!” When Dilshad tries to explain Saachi just says, “Give him a crocin!” DV is lying at home wrapped in blankets and with a bit of stubble. When Dilshad walks in he looks behind her and sees no one. Dilshad shakes her head in the negative and says Saachi didn’t come. “Woh nahi aayegi DV… Tum kyon yeh zid kar rahe ho… Tumhara bukhar badh gaya hai. Let me call the doctor!” she says. DV is adamant. “Mujhe kuch nahi hoga… Aur doctor ko bulaogi toh main chala jaunga… Saachi zaroor aayegi… Usey aana hi padega! Saachi goes to the terrace and peeks to look if DV is ok. DV is lying on his bed and is really unwell. Saachi sees Dilshad trying to give him some medicines, which he refuses to take. DV then starts coughing and is breathless. Saachi is really worried. Dilshad tells Saachi that DV’s fever has gone to 103 and that he is delirious. Saachi says she should give him a cold compress and if the fever doesn’t go down take him to the hospital. Dilshad gets angry. “Take him to the hospital??? What is wrong with you? What has gotten into you? Yeh case haarne ki sazaa de rahi ho usey yaa kisi aur cheez ki?” Dilshad says, “Aise waqt mein log dushmanon ki madad bhi kar lete hain… Aur DV toh dost hai!” But Saachi looks uncompromising. Dilshad shuts the light in Dv’s room and walks down. Saachi enters Dv’s room and finds that he has high fever and he is unconscious. Saachi takes the cold compress and starts to nurse him. In the morning Dv opens his eyes to see Saachi. Saachi is a bit relieved but gets back to being her strict self. Dilshad comes in and Saachi instructs her on what to do next. As Saachi is walking away Dv calls out to her and says, “Ab bhi kahogi ke tumhe mujhse pyar nahi hai?” Saachi walks out in a huff.

EPISODE 38 – Thursday, 24th October

Saachi meets Dilshad to ask her to intervene on Saachi’s behalf (we could catch the scene midway where Saachi has told Dilshad everything). Dilshad tells Saachi that she knows. Saachi asks her how could she encourage such a thing. Dilshad says she finds nothing wrong in it. Dilshad pleads with Saachi that love knocks on the door only once and that she will be a fool to let go of it. Saachi walks off in a huff. DV’s phone rings and it says, `sweetheart’. DV has a conversation with his mother who is now revealed. She keeps telling him to come back and is quite surprised that something has held him back for so long. “Dus din se zyada toh kisi cheez se nahi bandhte… Is baar kya ho gaya?” Dv smiles and says, “Is baar shayad poore janam ko bandh jaunga!” DV mother is puzzled and asks him forthright if it is some romance ka chakkar. DV is evasive and that’s when the mother warns him. “Mazaak tak theek hai DV lekin tum jaante ho kis tarah ka parivar hai hamara… Jazbaat aur zimmedariyon mein yahan jeet sirf zimmedariyon ki hoti hai… Toh kisi ko woh ummeed mat do jisey tum poora nahi kar saktey!” DV is pensive. Ulka comes to Aaji and Nani and gives them the gossip that DV has vanished and that Dilshad is distraught. Ulka says good riddance to bad rubbish because it was only a matter of time before DV would create problems in the area. Saachi walks in at that moment and hears Ulka. Saachi is concerned about what must have happened. Saachi goes upstairs and takes her phone. She scrolls down to DV and tries to call him. The phone is switched off. Saachi then dials Dilshad who explains to saachi that DV just left without taking his stuff or saying anything. Dilshad says she has a bad feeling about this. Saachi is making tea for Aaji and Nani when she keeps a third cup in the tray and brings it. When Aaji asks her who it is for Saachi gets awkward. Flash: DV asking her to pilao her a cup of tea every morning. Saachi puts the cup away as Aaji starts speaking to her about how rude she was to DV. Nani also mentions that it is quite out of character for her to lash out at him. “Madad hi toh kar raha tha hamari!” says Nani. Saachi avoids further conversation and leaves for work. Saachi tries to start her jeep when suddenly she sees DV standing in front smiling. “Kya hua? Daddu beemar hain?” asks DV and when Saachi looks up he is not there. Saachi drives the jeep away. Saachi is driving the jeep when she sees a person asking for a lift and she remembers DV’s first meeting with her. Saachi almost smiles when suddenly a truck comes from the opposite end and she swerves to the side of the road only to get flashes of DV and her earlier incident where they walked home with files in the rain. Saachi reaches the office when Mugdha says someone is waiting for her in her office. Saachi reaches there and the chair swerves towards her and it’s someone else. Saachi gets a flash of DV’s first meeting in the office with her. Dilshad comes running to Saachi’s house. Dilshad is crying as she says the cops called her. They found DV’s wallet on an accident victim who is dead. Saachi is shocked. A distraught Dilshad and Saachi enter the hospital (or wherever the body is) for identification. Dilshad blames Saachi for this situation and Saachi silently bears the guilt. The drama plays out where the dead body is shown and Dilshad is relieved that it’s not DV. Saachi and Dilshad come out of the hospital to see DV standing there. Saachi is relieved and starts to weep out of relief and vulnerability.  At the same time she starts to fire Dv for leaving without saying anything. DV is amused as he says he had just gone to be alone and clear his head. Saachi doesn’t allow him to finish. “Thank god you are alive… Oh my god! I’m so glad you are alive!” In an emotional state Saachi goes close to DV and embraces him. DV holds her tight and smiles, “And you said you don’t care about me!” Saachi continues to cry holding on to DV as Dilshad watches them both.

Indian director Somshukhlla makes her global mark with Sandcastle

Sandcastle, a simple film with a complex message written and directed by Indian debutante director Shomshukhlla has been nominated at several International Film Festivals including the Tenerife and London International Film Festival and screening in Hollywood LA Femme Fest.
The  journey of a woman in modern India, finding her identity, Sandcastle will be screened at Hollywood’s LA Femme Film Festival  at the Regal Stadium 14 LA LIVE, and has been nominated in the Best Foreign Language Feature Film category at the London International Film Festival (LIFF) 2013 and prides itself with four nominations at the Tenerife International Film Festival 2013 in London on October 12, including nods for Best Feature Film, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Cinematography.
Some important and rather poignant messages are conjured up in this bright and beautiful journey of a woman building her life. The ending is settling and although the film has its fair share of surreal moments, there is clarity to the communication of Sandcastle that reads much like a wonderfully crafted manuscript.
“The film addresses the unsatisfied longings of a seemingly comfortable middle-class Indian woman. India is waking up to good stories, with substance, new voices, ideas and perspectives, redefining the lost glory of story-telling. I am lucky that I am getting to be a part of it,” says Somshuklla.
Sandcastle tells the story of Sheila, (Shahana Chatterjee) whose upper middle-class life in India isn't as perfect as she hoped it would be. Sheila is a home-maker, an aspiring writer and loving mother. From an outsiders perspective it would seem like she has the perfect life. Her husband is a wealthy advertising maverick and she is part of the elite middle-class of Indian society. But like the shifting of the sands, is it all slipping through her fingers? How will she build her own dreams? In all that she has, does she really have a voice of her own?
The story of Sandcastle reflects one's belief in the ability to build a perfect life. But even in perfection there is emptiness and wanting. What is perfect to one person is misery for another. The film focuses on contemporary women in urban India and the changes in society that have moulded these women as an independent and self directing force of nature. Shomshuklla shows two colliding worlds of fateful acceptance and feminine Indian independence and individuality. The film focuses on contemporary women in urban India, and the changes in society that have moulded these women as an independent and self directing force of nature.
Interestingly, this laurel comes at a time when the director is ready to launch her seventh book of poetry 'Easy', has been a pop-singer with over nine albums, done fusion renditions of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore's songs on a global platform, written column on relationships, formed her theatre company, Kali Theatre , writing original scripts, directing, designing, staging, producing and acting nine original plays. 'We draupadi's and Sitas' an epic retold in modern times drew full houses at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The film’s credits: direction, story, script, production and art design, Shomshuklla. Cinematography, Ritam Banerjee. Original music, Ankur Mukherjee. Editing, Shashi Kumar. The cast includes Shahana Chatterjee, Malvika Jethwani, Rajat Sharma and Uditvanu Das.
