Priyanka chopra inaugurated a special section in nanavati today for cancer patients.

This is in her fathers name Dr. Ashok Chopra. This section will help many cancer patients all across India.
Commenting on the same Priyanka says, " Loosing my father was the most difficult situation I ever had to deal with. Cancer and its many complications may have taken him away from us but it never broke his fighting spirit. He was a true inspiration and  I have lent my support to this initiative not only to honour his memory but also  to continue his fight against this dreaded disease. Cancer care in India is today a very critical requirement and  I am very happy to be to be there in person to inaugurate the section of Hospital in my father's name. I am also very touched that the hospital has made this special dedication to him. He was proud to be a doctor and a surgeon and I know wherever he is, he would also be equally touched with this gesture. My wish is that this facility will bring change and hope to those in need. "

प्रियंका चोपड़ा ने नानवती में कैंसर पीड़ित रोगियों के लिए बने एक विशेष विभाग का उद्घाटन अपने हातों से किया यह एक विशेष और बहुत ही भावुक पल रहा प्रियंका के लिए क्यूंकि जिस विभाग का उद्घाटन प्रियंका ने किया है उस विभाग को उनके पिता डॉ.अशोक चोपड़ा नाम दिया गया है। इस विभाग से ज्यादा से ज्यादा कैंसर के रोगियों के इलाज में फायदा होगा।

    इस मौक्के पर प्रियंका ने कहा" अपने पिता को खोना यह बहुत ही कठिन समय था इस परिस्थिति से कभी सामना नहीं हुआ था। कैंसर और उसके दुष्परिणाम उनको हमसे बहुत दूर चले गए पर उन्होंने काफी अच्छी हिम्मत दिखाई और इस बीमारी को कभी हावी होने नहीं दिया वह एक सच्ची प्रेरणा है। मेरा हमेशा ही सपोर्ट इस तरह के अच्छे कार्यो को बना रहेगा यह उनकी बस याद भर नहीं तो हमें डट कर कैंसर के प्रति जागरूकता पैदा करनी होगी। कैंसर एक भयानक रोग है और भारत जैसे देश में यह काफी गंभीर है और इस की जरुरत हर कही है में काफी खुश हु की इस की जागरूकता में मुझे शामिल किया गया। और यह बहुत आदर की बात है की इस विभाग को मेरे पिता का नाम दिया गया है वह जहा भी होगे वह खुश होगे हमें काफी गर्वित महसूस कर रहे है की वह एक डॉकटर एक सर्जन थे। में आपेक्षा करती हु उसका लाभ हर एक को मिले। 

  

The Naked Liberal... Uncovered!

The Naked Liberal was uncovered at the hands of Maj Gen (Retd) Ian Cardozo, AVSM, SM, Anita Lobo, voluntary traffic warden, and His Eminence, Cardinal Oswald Gracias.
We are talking about the release of George Menezes’ fifth book, an anthology edited by Selma Carvalho.
George Menezes (84) is an ex Squadron Leader from the Indian Air Force. He was on a Diplomatic assignment with the Indian Embassy in Paris for four years. He was also Liaison Officer to Jawaharlal Nehru on his visit to Europe. Later, he was Director Personnel, of Hoechst Pharmaceuticals for 24 years.
At the launch, George honoured two citizens of extraordinary courage. Anita Lobo’s story is well-known on how she took on the high and mighty for flouting traffic rules. But the generation of today are not aware of who Major General Ian Cardozo is.
As a young major in the 5 Gorkha Rifles in the 1971 war with Pakistan, where in a swift military offensive, India defeated the enemy within 13 days, and liberated a region and that to the creation of Bangladesh; Cardozo had a taste of death. He stepped on a landmine and had to cut off his badly wounded leg with his own khukri!
That he came back and joined the ranks in the Army at the highest level with a wooden leg is legendary. Stuff of what real heroes are made of.
Cardozo remembered with awe his senior, George. “He never feared the four letter word which began with ‘F’,” said Cardozo as the audience broke into laughter. “He never feared FEAR,” continued Cardozo as he spoke of the many things Menezes stood and fought for. “George is like a diamond: Freedom fighter, activist… not bothered about himself but concerned about others. He has packed his life into doing things. George is someone who is not afraid to call a spade a spade.”
Speaking about his writings, Cardozo said, “His writing is held together with the glue of humour.” To this, Gerson DaCunha, brought the house down by adding, “George is a writer, other writers would love to strangle.”
In his rich Baritone, DaCunha brought alive some of George’s writings along with Fiona Miranda.
In this anthology of his writing (The Naked Liberal), George reflects on growing up as the eldest son of the eminent Professor Armando Menezes, a life spent between Goa and Bombay, his closest relationships, youthful experimentations with marijuana, joining the BJP, and being an outspoken Lay Conscience of the Catholic Church.

The professor gets accused of murdering his lab assistant. He was carrying out some experiments on trees. It was sid that he created trees that could eat human being, carnivorous plants. However the professor denies of the murder. But there are evidences that prove the contrary. Kd does not believe that the plant could kill a human being. He however has to find a way out to prove the doctor innocent. Things become more difficult when the plant that is termed to be the killer withers away as after the doctors arrest nobody could take care of it. How will kd find the actual murderer?

A man Diwakar dies while eating food on his dining table who has major OCD of cleaning things and using it. According to Dr he died of food poisoning but his wife calls CID because it is impossible for him to die of food poisoning.. Salunkhe shocks everybody telling that Diwakar had consumed taramocia- brain eating insect which is not found in Mumbai.. the insect travels under the skin through brains. How this insect reached the Diwakar’s brain and killing other people also.. who is doing all this. Will CID be able to stop this crawling insect killing others.

A group of friends comes for a walk at marine drive in the night. they are walking when they hears a scream they turn back and find out that a lady lying on the street and she is screaming out of pain she has been stabbed and there is a knife lying near her who killed her no one saw anyone with her, she was alone? Cops have been informed. In the forensic Salunkhe shocks the cops that she has killed herself with the same knife, that means she committed crime but why? That too at the middle of the road why she did like this…? ACP cannot believe that she has committed suicide. There something more to it cops starts the investigation as they come to know that wherever she was seen before died bomb blast took place she left a blue colored suitcase with bomb in it cops suspects that she was the member of some gang and was working under the  but the mystery is unsolved as why she killed herself?

21^st October to 24^th October

Pratap comes face to face with Rao Surtan. The young boy whom Surtan was chasing turns out to be a young girl ‘Krishna’. Pratap sees the tyranny of Rao surtan towards his people but unable to do anything to help them as he is bounded by Jaivantabai’s promise. Even after letting out so much of outrage Surtan fails to get hold of Pratap. In all chaos Jaivantabai meets Panna Dai & is shocked to see her. After all the chaos Pratap & Jaivantabai comes back to Mewar, restless Pratap gets to know about Panna Dai from Jaivantabai. After having Panna Dai’s story heard Pratap takes an oath to get Panna Dai back in Mewar. On the other hand Bairam Khan is angry because Surtan is unable to catch Pratap. Pratap decides to go to Boondi to bring Panna Dai back. There in Boondi, Pratap sees his old friend Duda being chased by Surtan’s soldiers & Pratap runs to his rescue. They both land in Panna Dai’s house. Surtan comes to Panna Dai’s house in search of Duda as Duda tried to break in Surtan’s jail where Duda’s father Hada Surjan is imprisoned by Surtan. Somehow Panna Dai & Krishna manages to save Pratap & Duda. Pratap is in awe to see Panna Dai. He manages to hide his identity & Duda too helps him in that. Pratap asks Panna Dai to recruit him at her place & she agrees to it. Krishna’s father Santhaal was blinded by Rao surtan hence she hates Surtan to the extreme. Krishna teams up with Duda to get rid of Surtan.
