Jagat Singh gets into the character of Devdutt in Spice Studio`s and Zee TV’s Buddha

 

Jagat Singh, who plays the character of Devdutt in Dr. BK Modi’s Buddha was recently required to enact a scenewhere he has to appear intoxicated while chasing a courtesan. The actor who was recently seen in Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha, took to sipping wine throughout the shoot so he would be in the right mood to play the scene and justify the character as well as to add authenticity to his performance. Jagat’s efforts were awarded when the remaining castand crew were left impressed by his dedication and one-shot performance on the set. The shows writer Prakash Kapadia, compared his performance to that of Shah Rukh Khan during Devdas, which in fact was also his inspirationwhile building the character of Devdutt. 

The scene was shot at the Rang Mahal, which is a lavish and expensive set spread over 12000 sq. ft. The scene showscourtesans dressed in rich and colourful attires wearing exquisite and expensive jewelry. The makers of the show have shown meticulous care and every little detail was given attention, so much so that the 30 courtesans shown in the scene selected after a series of auditions, even though they are mere background characters.

Coincidentally, the screenplay of Devdas was written by Kapadia himself and SRK himself used to drink on the sets of the movie to get into the character of the ill-fated lover. Additionally, the location used for Rang Mahal for the show, used to be also the set where Devdas was shot as well. 

Buddha is produced by Dr. BK Modi’s Spice Studios and is aired on Zee TV and Doordarshan on Sundays at 11.00am. The show’s 9^th episode is set to air on Sunday, October 27^th.

Supergroup formed to create music for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

CULVER CITY, Calif., October 31, 2013 – Oscar®- and Grammy-winning composer Hans Zimmer will work with Pharrell Williams, Johnny Marr, Michael Einziger, and Dave Stewart to create music for The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, it was announced today by Lia Vollack, president of Worldwide Music for Sony Pictures.  The film, directed by Marc Webb from a screen story and screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, is produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach.  The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released in theaters domestically on May 2, 2014, and international release dates commence April 16, 2014.

Commenting on the announcement, Zimmer said, “Marc and I were talking about Spider-Man, and as the word got out, so many of our friends and musicians started calling us up, wanting to be a part of it, because they love Spider-Man.  That was the thing that united all of us – the great love for Spider-Man.  With all of these hugely talented people wanting to join us, it was Marc who said, ‘Why not start a band?’ Marc and I have had a great start jamming with everybody, and we still have a few surprises up our sleeve.”

Vollack added, “This kind of collaboration is only possible because of who Marc Webb is – not only a director but also a musician – combined with who Hans is and what Spider-Man means to so many people.  Nobody has ever approached film music in this way before and this likely can never be replicated.  We’re huge fans of Hans, Pharrell, Johnny, Mike, and Dave, and when combined, we know the result will be truly unique… and amazing!”Zimmer, a nine-time Oscar® nominee and winner for his work on The Lion King, previously collaborated with Williams on the film Despicable Me, as Williams produced four original solo songs and several other character-sung pieces.  They later collaborated on the music for the 84th Annual Academy Awards®.  Marr played on Zimmer’s score for the hit film Inception, Einziger played on his score for The Lone Ranger, and Stewart played with Zimmer on the score for Madagascar 3.
Hans Zimmer has composed the scores for more than 100 films taking in more than 17 billion dollars.  His many credits include scoring the Pirates of the Caribbean blockbusters, Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, 12 Years a Slave, Rush, Man of Steel, Sherlock Holmes, The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons, Gladiator, The Thin Red Line, Rain Man, and many, many more.  He has been honored with an Academy Award®, two Golden Globes and four Grammys. In 2003, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers presented him the prestigious Henry Mancini Award for Lifetime Achievement for his impressive and influential body of work.

Pharrell Williams, a three-time Grammy winner, is one of the world’s most in-demand and influential music producers and recording artists.  This summer, Williams became the 12th artist to hold the #1 and #2 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously as he was featured on two songs – Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” also featuring T.I., which Williams also produced, and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” which Williams co-wrote – both of which have been called the “Song of Summer.”  He has previously composed songs and the score for the hit animated films Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2.

Johnny Marr rose to fame as co-songwriter and founder member of The Smiths.  Since then, Marr has continued to push boundaries and work with some of the world’s most exciting musical artists, including Modest Mouse, The The, Pet Shop Boys, Talking Heads, and Beck. This year NME awarded Marr the Godlike Genius award.  He recently released the critically acclaimed solo album, “The Messenger.”

Michael Einziger is the founder/guitarist/songwriter for the groundbreaking band Incubus.  “Wake Me Up,” the worldwide smash he co-wrote with Avicii, has been #1 in 70 countries.    As an acclaimed record producer, he produced /co-wrote/executive produced three projects set for release in the coming months: Chuck Inglish, Yuna and the Internet (Odd Future).  In addition to scoring the Josh Duhamel film Scenic Route he has scored Supremacy and is working on three additional film projects.  Einziger previously collaborated with Zimmer on The Lone Ranger, for which he composed additional music.

Dave Stewart is recognized as one of the most respected and accomplished talents in the music industry. “He’s the musician’s musician.” – Rolling Stone. Stewart’s music career spans three decades and more than 100 million album sales, highlighted by his collaboration with Annie Lennox in the groundbreaking pop-rock duo Eurythmics. Behind the scenes, he has produced albums and co-written songs for Bono, Bryan Ferry, Gwen Stefani, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Katy Perry, and Mick Jagger. Beyond his creative work as a musician, he is a renowned producer, author, director, photographer, filmmaker, and philanthropist. 'Shahbaz Khan and Jaya Bhattacharya mentoring new Akbar to learn Urdu'

Arish Bhiwandiwala who plays the role of Akbhar in Sony Entertainment Television’s Bharat Ka Veer Putra-Maharana Pratap has been at a learning spear. It is known that young Akbhar is trying hard to get the perfect fluencies in Urdu language and to help him in this Shahbaz  Khan and Jaya Bhattacharya is giving him special Urdu speaking classes.

Talking about it Arish says, I come from a Paris background, so my command over Urdu language is a little weak. When I got to know I am playing the role of young Akbar who comes from a strong Mughal family I thought it is essential for me to get the perfect language on Urdu language. I am really glad that I got the opportunity to get the chance to work with such talented and helpful actors like Shahbaz Khan and Jaya Bhattacharya who are mentoring me to learn Urdu.

Well it seems. Arish is walking at the lines of not only Hrithik Roshan but also Aamir Khan, believing in being a perfectionist. 

Bhoot Aaya to narrate Ahmedabad based incident – Rinku Patel

Sony Entertainment Television’s newly launched horror series ‘Bhoot Aaya’ will narrate the Ahmedabad based incident this weekend. This story is about 23 year old Rinku Patel. Rinku Patel moves to her father’s house in Ahmedabad. Rinku’s mother had expired and her father had gotten married again. For Rinku, it was a new house, and a new environment.  Everyone in the house loved her and they wanted to make her comfortable. But soon, the new house and place turned out to be a nightmare for Rinku and her family. Rinku started behaving strangely.  Rinku fell ill thereafter, and a doctor was called to attend to her. While the doctor was giving her medicines, she even attached him. Soon, Rinku’s father realised that she was being possessed and it was the spirit of his own sister Chiku who was possessing Rinku. Chiku had committed suicide by burning herself. Chiku was in love with a boy but her brother (Rinku’s father) and other family members didn’t approve of her relationship and ridiculed and beat up Chiku’s boyfriend. Unbale to take the humiliation of her lover, Chiku committed suicide by immolating herself. Now it was clear that Rinku was indeed possessed by Chiku, and Rinku even started speaking in Chiku’s voice. Chiku accused her brother (Rinku’s father) of her death and threatened him that she would not spare Rinku and would seek revenge.

What will happen to Rinku?

2,500 people want Salman Khan removed from Bigg Boss!

 

Two thousand five hundred people have signed a strong-worded petition on change.org, asking for termination of superstar Salman Khan’s contract with Colors for India’s biggest reality show Bigg Boss.

Alleging discrimination and bias towards certain contestants of the show, petitioner Maria S from Mississauga, Canada has stated that Salman is “promoting inequality” and has asked to “stop the injustice on the show.”

Termed “the voice of the general public,” the petition claims that Salman has been providing a “shield” to Tanisha Mukerji and Armaan Kohli despite their “acts of misconduct,” “only because they belong to the filmi circle that Mr. Khan is a part of.”

The petition states that “Mr.Khan reminded everyone (on the show) of the lineage Tanisha Mukerji comes from, as if her family line was proof of her innocence. Despite repeated offences of using foul language Armaan Kohli hasn't been reprimanded fully by the host.”

It further points out that “Tanisha Mukerji was involved in three violent pushes directed towards Kushal Tandon but was let off easily by the host who said something along the lines that Tanisha should've done more; i.e. gotten more violent.”

 

When we asked Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar about this, he admitted, “Some people might feel Salman Khan crosses the line now and then. But don’t forget that Bigg Boss is nothing without all the drama and Salman is one great host who knows well how to provide it.”
