BlogAdda.com organized the first blogging conference & Awards Ceremony in India, WIN ‘14 on Sunday, 9

February 2014 at The Courtyard by Marriott, Mumbai. It was an event that celebrated blogging in every sense of the word with an audience of 200 bloggers, social media experts and prominent speakers.

The spectacular Shekhar Kapur, a blogger himself, graced this event with his presence. Shekhar Kapur spoke to the audience of bloggers for almost an hour talking about the change blogging and social media have brought in the society. In his talk, he mentioned that the reason for him blogging is to leave a little bit of himself for the people he loves even after he’s gone. “What social media has done is, it has sucked inertia out of the 

system”, said Shekhar, showcasing his clarity of thought. The audience was mesmerized by his splendid talk and wished for more.

There were excellent insightful sessions that revolved around writing and blogging by renowned published authors like Ravi Subramanian and Kiran Manral. Kavi Arasu’s talk about his blogging journey and Anuradha Goyal’s story about being a travel blogger left the audience spellbound. The resolute Anaggh Desai, witty Manu Prasad and proficient Lakshmipathy Bhat spoke about blogging and the relation it shared with brands and advertising today. An interactive session discussing the interests of the youth with a panel consisting of Ekalavya Bhattacharya, Vasundhara Das and Karl Gomes was a huge success. Anil P. spoke about 

how pictures play an important role in storytelling on a blog. Arjun Ravi, a music journalist and co-founder of Nh7.in spoke very precisely about the blogging scenario in India today including his journey as a blogger. Amit 

Agarwal, India’s most prolific technology blogger shared his blogging success story at WIN ‘14 . The 

funny Jamshed Rajan had a special stand up comedy session for the bloggers and had them in splits. Ace food blogger Kalyan Karmakar had an engaging food blogging workshop for food bloggers while Abhigyan Jha from JayHind.TV spoke about creating premium video content for blogs. The entire event was amazingly hosted by none other than the entertaining, Ashwin Mushran.

The best blogs from all over India in 16 categories were recognized & awarded by Blogadda.com at WIN ‘14.

Winners included Dr. Roshan Radhakrishnan in the creative writing category and Roxanne D’souza in the fashion category with their blogs rated the best in India.

Yaariyan changed my life overnight: Jatin Suri

Jatin Suri after his successful stint in Divya Khosla Kumar’s Yaariyan confesses to having received immense popularity inundated with television offers post the romantic flick.

Jatin Suri, who made his debut in Yaariyan becomes the sought after actor in the television world post his critically acclaimed performance in Yaariyan playing but strictly maintains his focus on Bollywood.

After completing 2 years getting trained in acting from a prestigious institution in Mumbai Whistling Woods, went further west getting the finesse from the top notch Hollywood actor Rob Reece. Only when he decided to take a break & acquire knowledge on direction, Yaariyan happened to him.

Blessed with the looks of the boy- next-door, Jatin Suri, a theatre actor met Divya Khosla Kumar apparently to assist her for Yaariyan during his break & latter  offered the immediate role after the protagonist.

Hailing from a small town in Himachal Pradesh, Jatin Suri always dreamt of making it big in Bollywood beginning his career as a theatre artist in Shimla’s Gaiety & Chandigarh’s Tagore before coming to the city of dreams where he bagged a significant role in Yaariyan & received immense popularity among the younger generation making him the new favorite chocolate boy on screen.

Flooded with offers for ad commercials, television after his successful stint in Yaariyan, Jatin Suri couldn’t have asked for more, “Yaariyan changed my life overnight. I gained recognition & I have been receiving messages & being offered interesting roles for TV serials & ad commercials. But presently I am excited about my next release. Post Yaariyan there has been no looking back & I can’t thank Divya enough for the interesting role.”

Restricting himself to Bollywood, Jatin mentions, “It’s not that I won’t do television, but right now all my energies are focused on Bollywood. I have strived enough & here I am, fortunately meeting the right people, doing the right thing. There is so much more to achieve.”

Bhushan Kumar Brings Together Mr Amitabh Bachchan and Yo Yo Honey Singh for the 1st time!

Bhushan Kumar of T-Series has brought together Mr Amitabh Bachchan and ace musician Yo Yo Honey Singh together for the very first time!!!

The young star has composed a special ‘swag’ number for the film. This track will be the next collaboration between Bhushan Kumar and Yo Yo Honey Singh who have successfully given chartbusters such as ‘Sunny’ from Yaariyan, ‘Lungi Dance’ from Chennai Express to name a few.

George Clooney, Matt Damon, Jean Dujardin have a blast at Monuments Men Berlin Premiere!

 

Director-actor George Clooney brought his war caper ‘The Monuments Men’ back to Berlin for the Berlin Film Festival complete with its all star cast.

The Berlin premiere saw the majority of the cast back together, with Hugh Bonneville, George Clooney, John Goodman, Justus von Dohnanyi, Matt Damon, Ben Balaban, Dimitri Leonidas, Jean Dujardin and Bill Murray all posing for photos and having a gala time!!

Monuments Men is based on a true story about a group of men — including art historians and museum directors with Boston and Cambridge ties — who went behind enemy lines during WWII to rescue great artworks being looted by the Nazis.

Directed by George Clooney, the film stars Clooney, Matt Damon, John Goodman , Bill Murray , Cate Blanchett  and Bob Balaban .

Hasee Toh Phasee off to a flying start !

 
Dharma Productions & Phantom Films’ cuckin frazy Hasee Toh Phasee that released 7th February, opened nationwide only to be received with unanimously rave reviews and a steady growth at the box office,now standing at an approximate 18.5 crores as of yesterday.
Directed by Vinil Mathew,the Sidharth Malhotra – Parineeti Chopra starrer gained momentum at the domestic box office , with multiplexes seeing a huge jump on the 2nd day thanks to the positive word of mouth.
Says acclaimed critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, "#HaseeTohPhasee Fri 4.85 cr, Sat 6.25 cr to 6.40 cr. Witnesses 30% to 40% jump on Day 2. Metros are super-strong”. 
Adds Anil Thadani," Though HTP started on a slow note on friday, the film picked up on saturday and sunday(4.92,6.30,7.30 cr respectively) and the figures today are stable as well .The word of mouth for the film is also really good, it should do well this week as well
If that wasn’t all,the film’s overseas collection too have been encouraging especially in centers like UK,UAE , US and Australia. 
"In UK and Australia too, #HaseeTohPhasee Sat biz is almost double of Fri biz. Upward trend continues," Adarsh added.
