UNIVERSAL MUSIC RELEASES THE LATEST EDITION OF THE BIGGEST COMPILATION BRAND ‘NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL MUSIC!’

 Leading label Universal Music India announced the release of the latest edition of the biggest music compilation seriesin the music world - ‘NOW - That’s What I Call Music!”.

The album was released across all digital and physical formats on 20^th January`15 and has already begun to swiftly move up music charts!

Interestingly the NOW compilation series owes its name to a commercial poster for a bacon brand from the 1920s featuring a pig saying “Now. That’s What I Call Music” as it listened to a chicken singing.  Since its first release in 1983 on its parent label EMI, the annual best sellerbrand has collectively sold over 100 million units across 89 official volumes worldwide!

Earlier, EMI had often collaborated with other major labels like Universal Music to offer a bigger selection of `hits’ for listeners. However, since the acquisition of EMI by Universal Music worldwide, the brand has got more blood – from within. Vipul Mehta celebrates India’s Republic Day by paying homage to the Armed Forces of India with the launch of his new single ‘Vande Mataram’ at Wagah Border

Universal Music Group announced the launch of the single “Vande Mataram” by Indian Idol 6 winner and one of the most promising singers, performers and entertainers, Vipul Mehta.  Army Official Ajay Sehgal, Govt officer in an organization under Ministry of Defence, wrote the lyrics and using these very lyrics as inspiration, Vipul’s version of the iconic anthem ‘Vande Mataram’ pays tribute to the Armed Forces of India.

Though composed and sung by Vipul, this rendition of Vande Mataram also incorporates the voice of his Guruji, the legendary ‘Ustad Maqbool Husain Khan’.

The Wagah border is the physical border between India and Pakistan. As is customary, the daily military parade involves the esteemed security forces of India and Pakistan and has now become a tourist attraction. The launch of Vipul’s single ‘Vande Mataram’ was witnessed by a spectacular crowd and the Armed Forces, and has commenced the celebrations leading up to the Republic Day.

In 2012, Vipul was selected as the winner of the biggest reality TV show, ‘Indian Idol 6’. Following his win, he released his debut album Hello Namaste Sat Sri Akal on Universal Music.  "Rowaan Mein" his debut single written and composed by Asad Chohan and produced by Ali Mustafa won many accolades and was an instant hit.

Speaking about his single, Vipul said, “The Indian armed forces are always at the border protecting us and the country from any intruders. Thanks to these brave hearts, the citizens know that they are in safe custody. The moment I heard the lyrics which were penned down by Mr. Sehgal I knew I wanted to use this to pay homage to the soldiers.  It is a small gesture from my part to honour them.”

MAROON 5 GIVE L.A. COUPLES THE BIGGEST WEDDING PRESENT EVER!

Hit pop-rock band Maroon 5 gave several brides and grooms across Los Angeles the greatest wedding present possible. The lucky newlyweds got the chance to see the band perform live on the biggest day of their lives.  

While wedding crashers are usually an unwelcome element, the band was extremely well-received as they performed the song, “Sugar,” for the unsuspecting guests.

Executed toward their new video for the song ‘Sugar’, the video sees the band announcing, “It’s December 6, 2014. We’re going to drive across LA and hit every wedding we possibly can.”  They band drove around from wedding to wedding bring joy and delight to couples across the city. At each wedding, the band was hidden behind a white sheet that was unveiled as they started performing garnering a mixture of reactions from each couple.

The video is a visual treat and the sheer joy and excitement seen from the various couples is truly heartwarming. It has already received over 36 million views within barely 6 days of its release!
