सत्यदेव दुबे की डिजास्टर मराठी फिल्म 'शांतता कोर्ट चालू आहे' की लीला बेनारे की भूमिका में अपने मार्मिक और स्वभाविक अभिनय से दर्शकों एवं समीक्षकों को प्रभावित करने वाली सुलभा देशपांडे ने भूमिका, अरविन्द देसाई की अजीब दास्ताँ,  गमन, अल्बर्ट पिंटू को  गुस्सा क्यों आता है,  आदि हिंदी फिल्मों से  दर्शकों   में अपनी पहचान बनाने का मौका मिला।  उन्होंने कोई ९६ हिंदी-मराठी फिल्मों और टीवी सीरियलों में काम किया।  उन्हें ५८ साल की उम्र में आर्थराइटिस हो गई।  एक बारगी उन्हें लगा कि वह कभी अपने पैरों पर खडी न हो सकेंगी।  डॉक्टरों ने उन्हें ऑपरेशन कराने की सलाह दी।  २०१३ में उन्होंने अपना ऑपरेशन करा लिया।  इसके बाद वह आर्थराइटिस को लेकर सक्रिय हो गई और लोगों को आर्थराइटिस से छुटकारा पाने के लिए डॉक्टरों से सलाह लेने के लिए प्रेरित करने लगी।  इसके बावजूद वह लम्बे शिड्यूल कर पाने में असमर्थ थी।  इसलिए उन्होंने फिल्मों में काम करना बंद कर दिया था।  वह टीवी सीरियलों और नाटकों में सक्रीय हो गई थी।  कहता है दिल जी ले ज़रा  वह आजी के किरदार में दिखाई दी थी ।  उनकी आखिरी फिल्म बेला शिंदे निर्देशित इंग्लिश विंग्लिश (२०१२) थी। आज (४ जून २०१६ को)  लम्बी बीमारी के बाद ७९ साल की उम्र में निधन हो गया।  

Jethalal to be a servant in his own house?

Jethalal is known to create hilarious situations with his innocent antics. This simpleton character of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has made the audience laugh again and again with his clean humor and naivety. When he had taken on the role of a worker in his own shop to help Bagha win his lady love Bawri’s parents, then their distinctive behavior had generated guffaws. But then Jethalal is known to have been caught in the web of his own making.

Now his impersonation of the servant has come back to haunt him once again. “Bawri’s parents want to solemnize her relation with Bagha and call Gada home to express their desire to get their daughter engaged to Bagha. As usual Jethalal’s imagination runs wild and he imagines himself playing the servant to Bagha and plans an escape route. But his entire plan backfires, making this track extremely funny. Once again, the audience will be treated to undiluted clean entertainment,” says the creator of the show Asit Kumarr Modi.      

This upcoming track of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is going to be a rollercoaster ride for the audiences of SAB TV’s leading sitcom. After the successfully run of their recent track on Iyer and Babita’s divorce, its time to revel in hilarity created by Jethalal and his role reversal activity.  “It is an extremely funny track. We all are so used to playing the boss all the time that becoming a servant creates huge discomfort and from this dilemma, generates laughter. Whether I will play-act the servant or not, I am sure that audience will love the track,” Says Dilip Joshi.

Now Jethalal is in a fix as Bagha and Bawri’s engagement depends on his decision to play Bagha’s servant! Will Bagha’s beloved Sethji sacrifice his reputation for him?  What will happen when Gokuldham’s other residents find out about Jethalal playing his employee Bagha’s servant?

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is close to completing 2000 episodes and is still going as strongly as it did when it started. And that is why, the recent track between Iyer and Babita was received wonderfully by the audience even during the Indian Premier League.

It’s time to welcome three talented actors back on the small screen. SAB TV’s upcoming comedy show, Khidki, produced by Hats Off productions will get back three talented and popular actors on television. They are Baa Bahoo Aur Baby stars Sarita Joshi, Lubna Salim and Rajeev Mehta. Yes, the trio will be seen in Khidki in different episodes. As per our sources, the show will revisit funny stories of real life families. Sarita will mostly be seen in the first episode while Lubna and Rajeev will feature in another episode. We tried reaching the actors but they remained unavailable.

We also buzzed Hats Off’s producer, JD Majethia but even he kept busy.Are you excited to watch them back on screen?                       

SUBHASH GHAI INSTITUTES LATA MANGESHKAR SCHOLARSHIP AT WHISTLING WOODS INTERNATIONAL

With his Film & Media Arts institute Whistling Woods International (WWI) entering its 10th year, and having had the success of it being rated as one of the ten best film schools in the world, Founder & Chairman Subhash Ghai is delighted to announce a scholarship for meritorious yet indigent students in the name of Padmashri awardee Lata Mangeshkar ji.The LATA MANGESHKAR SCHOLRSHIP will carry a 100% fee waiver for a 2-year / 3-year programme at Whistling Woods International.Subhash Ghai and Meghna Ghai-Puri, President of Whistling Woods, accompanied by a few students, met Lata ji at her residence yesterday. The purpose was to invite her to receive the ‘2016 Whistling Woods Maestro Award’ for her legendary contribution to Indian Cinema, at its 9th Convocation on July 18, 2016. She gracefully accepted the invitation, and had all praise for the vision of Subhash Ghai & Mukta Arts in setting up of Whistling Woods International in 2001, as an institute of global standards in the education of the art, commerce and science of Cinema. As she said in her video message that she recorded for the institute, “I am honoured to receive such a prestigious award from a world-class institute like Whistling Woods International and I bless them for a great future.”

 During this meeting, Lata ji also happily accepted a proposal from Meghna to institute an annual scholarship at WWI in her name. Lata ji said “I am deeply touched by this great gesture of Subhash ji, Meghna and their team. It’s an honour for me.”

Subhash Ghai added “It is our great honour to have Lata ji’s acceptance for our attempt to inspire the next generation of Indian filmmakers. This scholarship in the name of India’s pride and an institution for us all, Lata ji, will continue to benefit students for decades to come.”

Subhash Ghai also revealed that while WWI does provide scholarships to meritorious yet indigent students every year, this is the 2nd special 100% scholarship instituted in the name of a legend of Indian Cinema. Three years ago, Whistling Woods International had announced the DILIP KUMAR SCHOLARSHIP and over the past 3 years, three students have availed of this scholarship (2014 – Amit Hegde, 2015 – Rohit Valecha & 2016 – Amol Srivastava).

Whistling Woods International, currently has over 700 students in several schools (Filmmaking, Acting, Animation, Music, Media & Communication and Fashion & Design) at its Filmcity campus. WWI has collaborated with TISS for its degree courses and is privileged to host a YouTube Space, a Sony Media Lab & RedEducation, within its campus.                

Virat Kohli Foundation hosts Charity Dinner with Smile Foundation to support Empowerment of Children and youth

         

     Chef Vikas Khanna puts a Michelin Starred dinner for an experiential evening 

Virat Kohli Foundation has joined hands with Smile Foundation, a national level development organization, which benefits approximately 4 lac children and their families, to support the cause of empowerment of underprivileged Children and Youth. As a first step towards this endeavor, Virat hosted a one-of-its-kind charity dinner at Hyatt Regency, Mumbai for 200 influencers and was joined by his colleagues Mahendra Singh Dhoni , Shikhar Dhawan , Yuvraj Singh, Ajinkya Rahane ,KL Rahul to support the cause of children and youth empowerment . Other friends of Virat who joined the  evening were Jehan and  Miihier Singh . This uber luxury-experiential evening also had a five course Michelin starred dinner curated by Chef Vikas Khanna which included the likes of Akash Ambani , Gautam Singhania, Rana Kapoor, Nandita Mahtani, Archana Kochhar, Tara Sharma, Nikhil Chaturvedi, Mr. Digvijay Sinh Kathiwada  to name a few  

Talking at the event Virat Kohli, Founder – Virat Kohli Foundation and Ace cricket said, “The soul behind this initiative is to raise awareness and support for the cause of education and skill training for the thousands of less privileged children and youth in India. I am glad to see the support that has come from all corners towards this initiative and this is just a humble beginning to spread smiles amongst the kids and youth. The fund raiser also witnessed an auction of few of the high end luxury products and cricket memorabilia close to the heart of star batsman and his cricket friends. The amount raised will help to support the empowerment of underprivileged Children and Youth. The auction was conducted by Malcolm Todywalla from Todywalla Auctions. The event was anchored by Ridhima Pathak and Karan Ambardar. 

The evening also saw young talents from music Armaan Malik and Neeti Mohan mesmerize the guests with their performances, the kids from Smile Foundation couldn't hold their excitement performing with Sandip Soparrkar. Nitish Bharti put together a beautiful sand art portraying the cause and Virat’s association with Smile Foundation. The evening was also joined by Invincible and Nitisha Nanda who performed at the event. 

Vikas Khanna added his own flavours to the spread along with the chefs from Hyatt Regency Mumbai team and he has been advocating the cause of nutrition for a long time. He, himself, cooked and supervised the menu especially designed for the event. Chef Vikas Khanna, Global Ambassador for Smile Foundation’s Nutrition Campaign and 5 times Michelin starred Chef said , “ I have a family of 20500 kids with Smile Foundation who are no less that my own ...and when I was asked to come forward and cook for this dinner there was an immediate yes though I was cooking almost after 20 years in India. I am happy that people from all walks of life have come forward to support us for this event and help us raise resources for the cause. I appreciate Virat Kohli and his friends who took out time to make this event a huge success and put smiles on many children’s faces.” 

The event also witnessed Ms. Divya Khosla Kumar being announced as the Goodwill Ambassador of Smile Foundation to support its Mission Education initiatives and encourage talents in the field of music amongst the less privileged.
