MIKE POSNER’S “I TOOK A PILL IN IBIZA” (SEEB REMIX) EARNS A NOMINATION AT THE MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS

Mike Posner has a new reason to be ecstatic!: His music video “I Took A Pill In Ibiza”, directed by Jon Jon Augustavo has been nominated in the category of Best Electronic Video at the 2016 MTV Video  Music Awards! The hit track took the global charts by storm where it hit No.5 on the Billboard Hot 100 after topping charts across Europe. The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from New York on Sunday, August 28th.
The track's success grew with the Norwegian duo SeeB's EDM remix, which gives a new breath of life to the previously acoustic-guitar folk original, turning it into sounds that celebrate a renewed sense of self enjoyment. The singer has received rave reviews for his Jordan XL remix single ‘Be As You Are’ as well which takes the artist back to his roots with the celebrated song.
He wrote a song about his emptiness, "I Took a Pill in Ibiza," and the heartfelt lyrics captured millions of hearts as they got an insight on Mike Posner’s life as an artist who spoke truly about his fight with depression and inability to handle fame. Posner’s lyrics are indeed memorable such as- You don't want to be high like me/Ne/You don't ever want to step off that roller coaster and be all alone” which are a fittingly forlorn introduction to his second album, At Night, Alone.
On his next full-length album, Posner plans to release 12 autobiographical acoustic tracks and six EDM remixes, approved by Posner. He had shared previously saying that he loves the idea because they give his songs a second life.
