KUCHH KARO NAA Complete

The entire shooting of Sahil Production’s maiden venture KUCHH KARO NAA is now complete. It was filmed at Sai Leela Bunglow, Amol Form House and Khadoli Picnic Spot and Bhiwandi locals. The film's editing is in progress at Preet Entertainment Studio, Goregaon, west. Anil S. Mehta directs the film for producer Anil Rai. Shaami M. Irfan has written the story-screenplay and dialogues. Mahaveer Prasad Saw is co-producer. It stars Ajay Dixit, Momita Sarkar, Falak Khan, Priya Goswami, Mrunalini Shirat, Nazir Sayyed, Sujeet Sugna, Dr. Anil k. Rohella, Sandeep Bhojak, Janardan Mishra, Shubham Patil, Muskan, Pawan Gupta, Laxman Mahade Tate, Pranjal Bhoir and Virendra Mishra. DoP: Shankar Sharma. Editor: Sanath Ballamanja. Ruhan Mahendra Kapoor, Annu Kapoor, Johnny Lever, Raaman Khuranaa, Vijayta Pandit, Amrit Mann, Dilraj Kaur among others

Singer Ruhan Mahendra Kapoor took centrestage alongside Raaman Khuranaa, President – Global Punjabi Association, Annu Kapoor, Johnny Lever, Vijayta Pandit, Amrit Mann, Dilraj Kaur and a host of other celebrities at The Global Punjabi Association’s celebration of the spirit of Independence in loving memory of the musical genius Padmashree Mahendra Kapoor ji. The day also marked the fourth anniversary of the Global Punjabi Association and the second year of the Padmashree Mahendra Kapoor Awards hosted by the same association. 

Says Ruhan Kapoor, “It is the 69th Independence of India celebrations in dad’s memory. And it will be a momentous occasion. I will miss dad and we have done thousands of shows together. I miss him every time I perform alone but he is with me through his immortal songs.” Ruhan will perform songs like Hai Preet Yahan Kei Reet Sada, Tum Agar Saath Dene Ka Vaada Karo, Neele Gagan Ke Tale, Lakhon Hai Dilwale, Mere Desh Ki Dharti, Mahendra Kapoor’s Punjabi song medley, and duets like Tere Sang Pyaar Nahi Todna among others.

Says Raaman Khuranaa, “While there is no dearth of great causes for an organization like this, it is also true that occasionally one needs to celebrate, dance and laugh for the many blessings that Waheguru Ji gives. This is a dual celebration as we are giving away Mahendra Kapoor Awards to many deserving Indians.”

The Global Punjabi Association has been doing a great service in bringing the people of Punjabi origin together to do good work. The association has, at its core, a dream and vision of social and cultural uplift, uniting and harnessing the dynamic energies of their members to the service of the aged, the sick and the downtrodden. This association is a non-political and non-Government organization. In a short while, it has already taken up a host of cultural programmes as well as programmes for disabled children, fitting of prosthetics for old and impoverished persons with medical issues.

Riteish Deshmukh opts for herbal cigarettes for his role in Banjo

Riteish Deshmukh, who will be seen playing a street musician in Eros International’s musical drama, Banjo, had to come out of his comfort zone to shoot for a smoking sequence.

While shooting for the movie, directed by critically-acclaimed filmmaker Ravi Jadhav, Riteish had to enact couple of scenes in which his role required him to smoke. But since the talented actor is a non-smoker, he used herbal cigarettes to make his performance look real and believable.

A source says, “Riteish is against smoking. He was asked to smoke for some of his previous roles as well. But he always said no. However, in Banjo, he is playing the role of a street performer. He realised that his role required him to smoke.”

So, he opted for herbal cigarettes that do not contain tobacco. Riteish confirms, “To make my character look more believable, I was supposed to smoke in a few scenes, as that was integral to the script. Thankfully, I had to smoke herbal cigarettes and not the actual ones that are harmful.”

Banjo, produced by Eros International and directed by Ravi Jadhav starring Riteish Deshmukh and Nargis Fakhri, releases on 23rd September.
