Soha Ali Khan: Whether I opt for namaz or go to a Church, how does it affect anyone?

Actors bear the brunt of fans who often take their acts a bit too seriously. Recently, Soha Ali Khan was ruthlessly attacked by religious fanatics online for visiting the Golden Temple in Amritsar and a Ganpati pandal.
The reason: Soha, who is a Muslim visited Hindu shrines, which didn’t go down well with some of her religious fanatic fans, who insinuated that by visiting Golden Temple and Ganpati pandal, Soha was being ‘disloyal’ to her religion.
The versatile actress visited the Golden Temple to take blessings for her upcoming thriller, 31stOctober. While reacting to the same, Soha says, “I am all for freedom of expression, but being told how going to a temple makes me a non-Muslim is plain callous. No one has the right to say that. Whether I choose to do namaz or go to a Church, how does it affect anyone?”
“People shouldn’t bother about what’s not their business. Nobody owns me. India being a secular nation, we have to respect all religions and each other’s choices,” she adds.
Soha and Vir Das will be seen sharing the screen space for the first time in writer-producer Harry Sachdeva’s 31st October, directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil.
Magical Dreams Productions Pvt Ltd, Panorama Studios, Anand Prakash and writer-producer Harry Sachdeva’s 31st October is the first mainstream film based on the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination and its repercussions. The movie releases on October 7, 2016.
