It is this very journey of two women, trying to shed the excess weight, that the upcoming film Vazandar is about. The film brings forth many thought-provoking issues into the limelight in a light-hearted way.
‘Vazandar’, produced under Vidhi Kasliwal’s Landmarc Films banner, is all set to hit screens post Diwali, on November 11. In a way, its release timing is perfect, as it allows you to indulge in binging on all the Diwali sweets and goodies. That way, you can enjoy the ‘Vazandar’ experience of the film guilt-free and whole-heartedly.
At a recent event in Mumbai, one of the film’s leading ladies, Priya Bapat surprised guests with her spunky rendition of the song Golu Polu from the film. Yes, among a host of other things, this Sachin Kundalkar directorial marks the singing debut of Priya. Sai Tamhankar introduced the beginning of Priya’s singing innings at the event. Golu Polu features Priya Bapat and Siddharth Chandekar, the latter launched the song video. Avinash-Vishwajeet have given the music for the film and Omkar Kulkarni has written the lyrics of this unconventional love song.
The Mumbai event saw all cast members Sai Tamhankar, Priya Bapat, Siddharth Chandekar along with Chetan Chitnis, Chirag Patil, writer-director Sachin Kundalkar, producer Vidhi Kasliwal and other team members of ‘Vazandar’. Landmarc Films, that produced and presented ‘Sanngto Aika’ in 2014, is back after two years with a fresh new project. Vidhi Kasliwal is a well-recognised
name in the film industry. Related to the Barjatya family, she assisted Sooraj R. Barjatya on Rajshri’s ‘Vivah’. She also wrote and directed ‘Isi Life Mein’ in 2010. Now she brings a brand new concept with Vazandar brands of the Marathi Film Industry.
The film has been the talk of the town ever since it’s inception, more than a year ago. And recently its poster and trailer have been making headlines. It is also the film’s cast that has cine goers excited. Apart from the glamorous Sai and Priya, the film features a newcomer Chetan Chitnis, Siddharth Chandekar and Chirag Patil, son of yesteryear cricket star Sandeep Patil, all of whom boast of a strong fan following. So, this is an experience, not just about a ‘Vazandar’ subject, but also about ‘Vazandar’ people. `
