The broadway-style musical play adaption of K.Asif's legendary classic 'Mughal E Azam' seems to have struck a chord & become an instant hit with one and all. The production helmed by master director Feroz Abbas Khan has opened to near unanimous acclaim and the verdict is loud and clear - this is one experience which is unmissable.
A lavish premiere event was hosted at the NCPA and comprised of the who's who of the celeb world. From the scions of the first family of Bollywood - Randhir and Rishi Kapoor (A hark back to their illustrious granddad - Prithviraj Kapoor who had essayed the role of Jahapanah Akbar in the original work) to the rich, beautiful and influential of our society - you had them all. Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Irffan Khan, Anubhav Sinha, Raza Murad, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Simone Singh, Fahad Samar, Lubna Adams, Manish Malhotra, Jackky Bhagnani, Aseem Chhabra, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Dhiraj Deshmukh, Perizad Zorabian, Anjali Tendulkar, Nandita Das, Mita Vashist were amongst the dignitaries who graced the occasion. Top honchos from the corporate world attended the event too.
A standing ovation greeted the show on it's conclusion & had the prominent personalities in a euphoric state.

Having a wealth of experience in the global field of music and brand connection, Shubhra Bhardwaj, Founder & Creative Director of Ferriswheel Entertainment Pvt Ltd will be taking her branding expertise to the next level, as she will be attending the mega ‘Amsterdam Dance Event’ (ADE) held in mid-October this year.

The entrepreneur-art director has over two decades of experience in managing large-scale events in the field of sports, performing arts and entertainment, and she’s certainly a name to reckon with. Shubhra specializes in showcasing the rich classical and folkdance heritage of India and their promotion at various national and international festivals, events and productions.

Ferriswheel was born out of her dream of creating a specialized agency to design and execute large-scale events using creative and cutting-edge technological innovation.

SHAFAQ KHAN”S ‘LAUNDA NAACH ‘ ENTERS IN TO OVFF AND MIFF FESTAVELS

The gentlemen in the picture is Dr Mehmet Oz of famous American TV show The Dr Oz show (Opera Winfrey show, Larry King show etc) the other gentlemen along with my production head Payal Bharadhwaj and director Shafaq Khan , Mr. Lee Arenberg famous American actor who is known for films like Pirates Of the Caribbean and TV show once upon a time and many more. He presented the award to Shafaq Khan.

Launda Naach is an art form where men dress up as women and dance to entertain at social functions and festivals. What once was a folk art has now become a degrading line of work where rich men hire the Laundas (male dancers) to dance for their own perverse pleasures...events that usually end in abuse and rape. One such Launda by the name of Bhuvan is a popular dancer, a husband and a father to a 9 year boy named Gungroo. Bhuwan hides the ugly truth from his son to protect his image and this leads to his son’s growing fascination with becoming a launda himself. Fearing that soon his son would discover the truth or worse, suffer like him, Bhuwan decides to retire from dancing, but not before one last gig in a nearby village. A gig that he reluctantly agrees to, tempted only by the money he desperately needs for his pregnant wife. The day of the gig, Bhuwan’s wife delivers a baby boy and Gungroo uses the good news as an excuse to run to his father and see him perform. As he elatedly runs to the village where his father is, little does he know that the entry fee to his father’s world is more than he bargained for.

About Film Festival entry and awards:

Platinum Pictures Pvt Ltd, has been pre dominantly working on the film to get it circulated in the film festivals. The journey first started as we got the news of Launda Naach being officially selected for screening in OVFF [13th Other Venice Film Festival, California]. Then came the news of official selection for Human district festival Serbia.

Team Launda Naach's joy knew no bound, when the Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival [MIFF] officially selected Launda Naach for official Screening. It is the same festival, where many big feature films of Bollywood have been screened including Bang Bang of Hrithik in 2014.
The journey to visit USA was initiated and the whole OVFF and MIFF team had been cooperating to call us down to USA.
And the reason, OVFF bestowed us with the BEST

INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM AWARD dated 9th October.
The MIFF nominated Launda Naach under 2 categories, Best Dramatic short film and Best Cinematography. However, due to hurricane the event has got postponed to 21st and 22nd October.

About OVFF Festival:Organised in the beautiful city of Venice ,California by Reuben de La casas. This is the 13th year of the festival, which had 100s of films competing and 48 short films selected for screening. The event had beautiful combination of short films, animated films.

शिवाय मेरे करियर के लिये बड़ी फिल्म है - एरिका कार

फिल्म 'शिवाय' में अजय देवगन के साथ बॉलीवुड डेब्यू करने वाली एक्ट्रेस एरिका कार पोलिश एक्ट्रेस हैं। वह बीबीसी के लिए टीवी सीरीज कर चुकी हैं।  इस लिहाज़ से शिवाय एरिका के लिए बड़ा ब्रेक हैं। शिवाय का ट्रेलर पिछले दिनों रिलीज़ हुआ था।  इस ट्रेलर से एरिका दर्शकों को आकर्षित करती हैं। चूंकि, एरिका के बारे में बहुत कम जानकारी उपलब्ध है।  इसलिए, उनके बारे में उनसे जानने की कोशिश की गई।  पेश है बातचीत - 

ट्रेलर के बाद आपको कैसा रिस्पॉन्स मिल रहा है ?

अभी तक सभी लोगों से पॉजिटिव रिस्पॉन्स ही मिला है।  भारत के लोगों ने मुझे बहुत सारा प्यार दिया है।  इस सपोर्ट की वजह से मैं खुद कोसुरक्षित पाती हूँ। 

खुद को पहली बार किसी हिंदी फिल्म के ट्रेलर या सांग में देखना कैसा लगा ?

मुझे बहुत अच्छा लगा। स्क्रीन पर खुद का चेहरा बहुत बड़ा लगता है। 'दर्खास्त' सांग  में खुद को देखकर बहुत बढ़िया लगा। खुद को ऐसे देखना अजीब लगता है। लेकिन मैं बेहद खुश हूँ। हम सबने काफी मेहनत की है। 

अजय देवगन ने करियर में पहली बार ऑन स्क्रीन किसी एक्ट्रेस को 'किस' किया है तो वह आप हैं ?

ओह ! मुझे इस बात का पता नहीं था। किसी ने सेट पर मुझे ये बताया भी नहीं था। नहीं तो मैं काफी स्ट्रेस रहती। अजय देवगन काफी अनुभवी एक्टर हैं। बहुत ही प्रोफेशनल हैं। ऑफ स्क्रीन बड़े भाई की तरह मेंरा ख्याल रखते थे। सेट पर मेरा बॉय फ्रेंड भी पूरे टाइम था। मेरे बॉय फ्रेंड ने भी मेरा काफी मनोबल बढ़ाया। मैं बहुत ही कम्फ़र्टेबल थी। 

आजकल क्या कर रही हैं ?

मैं ज़रूर कुछ कर रही हूँ, लेकिन उसके बारे में बात नहीं कर सकती। मैं बॉलीवुड के अलावा भी कुछ कर रही हूँ।  एक प्ले की तैयारी भी कर रही हूँ। मेरा थिएटर प्ले काफी मुश्किल होने वाला है। इसमे मुझे किसी को हथोड़े से मारना है। मैं इस साल मास्टर्स की पढ़ाई भी पूरी कर लूंगी। मुझे लगता है की थिएटर का मेरे करियर में एक खास योगदान होगा. लेकिन अभी मैं चाहती हूँ लोग शिवाय देखें। 

आप हिंदी भी सीख रही हैं ?

हाँ, फिल्म की शूटिंग के दौरान काफी हिंदी सीखी। आगे भी सीखूंगी। फिल्म की डबिंग भी मैंने खुद की है। मैं अलग अलग तरह के किरदार निभाना चाहूँगी, जो ग्लैमर से काफी परे हो। 

बॉलीवुड में कौन पसंद है ?

मैंने बॉलीवुड की ज्यादातर फिल्में नहीं देखी हैं। लेकिन इन दिनों काफी देख रही हूँ। अभी 3 इडियट्स देखी थी। मुझे फिल्म अच्छी लगी। संजय लीला भंसाली की फिल्में भी मुझे पसंद हैं। एक दिन मैं उनके साथ काम करना चाहूँगी। ऐश्वर्या राय बच्चन बहुत ही सुंदर हैं। 

फिल्म 'शिवाय' में आपका रोल क्या हैं ?

एक स्टूडेंट का किरदार है, जो यूरोप की रहने वाली है। भारत में पढ़ाई करती है।  वह हिंदी बोलती है। शिवाय से मिलते ही उसकी जिंदगी में कई बदलाव आते हैं। 

शूटिंग के दौरान कुछ सीखने को मिला  ?

यह मेरी पहली हिंदी फिल्म थी और बहुत ही बड़ी फिल्म थी। इतनी मुश्किल कंडीशंस में हमने फिल्म पूरी की है। अजय देवगन ने भी काफी सहायता की। स्क्रिप्ट रीडिंग करना। कभी लाइन्स बदल जाएँ तो भी अगले सीन को तैयार करना। यह सब कुछ मैंने इस फिल्म के दौरान सीखा। 
और भी बाहर की एक्ट्रेसेस भारत में काम कर रही हैं।  क्या आपको उनके नाम पता है ?

जी कटरीना कैफ, नतालिया (डांसर)। 

अजय देवगन को कितना समझा आपने ?

बेहतरीन, हार्ड वर्किंग। मैं उनकी बहुत रिस्पेक्ट करती हूँ। बहुत ही ग्रेट इंसान हैं। उन्हें अपने काम की समझ है और वो अपने आस पास वाले लोगों को खुश रखते हैं। 

शादी कब करने वाली हैं ?

मैं अपने बॉय फ्रेंड से बहुत प्यार करती हूँ और वह भी मुझे बेहद प्यार करता है। शादी के बारे में अभी कुछ नहीं कह सकती।
