Shyam Benegal to be awarded Lifetime Achievement Award at IFFP 2017

New Delhi  is the place for this time’s International Film Festival of Prayag. To be held during 16th -19th February 2017, veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal will be felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution towards Indian Cinema.  Shyam Benegal has directed some rare piece of cinema like Ankur, Nishant, Manthan, Zubeida to name a few.Acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee, Bhojpuri star Manoj Tiwari and actor Rahul Roy will grace the film festival.Various categories like Feature Films, Documentaries, Short Fictions and Animation are open for participation. There's also a special category called 'Swachh Bharat Based Short Movie'. The last date for submitting the entries is 30th December 2016. Entries will be accepted through Filmfreeway, Vimeo, Withoutabox or through courier.Hasan Haider, Founder, IFFP concluded, “We are happy to announce our third edition of IIFP in Delhi.  We are also happy to bring Allahabad to Delhi - the heart of India.  The festival is growing with every edition and we are excited to see a large number of movies being submitted from all over the world. वीरदास की स्टैंड-अप कॉमेडी वाकई लाजवाब है। दर्शको ने '३१ अक्टूबर’ और मिलाप झावेरी द्वारा निर्देशित लघु फिल्म ‘राख’ में उनके गंभीर अभिनय का जलवा देखा है। अब वीर एक एक्शन फिल्म के साथ दर्शकों को आश्चर्यचकित करने के लिए तरह से तैयार हैं। इस फिल्म का नाम है ‘प्लान बी’, जिसका निर्देशन हरीश रावत द्वारा किया जाएगा। वीर ने इस एक्शन फिल्म को चुनौती के तौर पर लिया हैं। वह जल्द ही इसके लिए ट्रेनिंग लेने लन्दन जायेंगे । इस फिल्म में वीर अपना स्टंट खुद ही करेंगे। इस फिल्म में इस्तेमाल की जाने वाली विशेष तकनीकों को सीखने के लिए वह लंदन जाएँगे। वह 30 दिनों तक एक्सटेन्सिव ट्रेनिंग लेंगे। नए वर्ष के प्रारंभ में इस फिल्म के शूटिंग की शुरुआत होगी।
