Nawazuddin Siddiqui confirmed to play the lead Sultana Daku in British production

London-based Beautiful Bay Entertainment production house has roped in Nawazuddin Siddiqui for its upcoming project ‘The Confession of Sultana Daku’. The British production is an adaptation of the book written by Sujit Saraf, set in pre-Independence India, on the life of the notorious UP dacoit legend Sultana. The film is to be directed by Heeraz Marfatia, who has assisted filmmakers such as Shekhar Kapur and the Oscar-winning Roland Joffe.Interestingly, one of Sultana Daku's stomping grounds was Muzaffarnagar, where Nawazuddin Siddiqui spent his growing up years. “Nawaz has lived and dreamed the stories of Sultana Daku since he was a child. In a way, he has been preparing to play this character his entire life without even knowing it,” says director Heeraz Marfatia.Nawazuddin is equally excited about portraying the historic character of Sultana Daku in this British Production. The actor shares, “Kids today have super heroes they look up to and Sultana was a super hero to me. On dark winter nights when my family would be snug under a warm razai, with candle being the only source of light and the threat of modern dacoits in my village, Sultana would come to life in my father's stories as the real Daku. Unlike these criminals who terrorised us, Sultana always took a stand.” The film is written by Shubra Swarup, who has worked with industry aces like Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Mansoor Khan and Shekhar Kapur. Produced by Colin Burrows and Michael Ward, ‘The Confession of Sultana Daku’ will be shot extensively in real locations, in Sultana's actual milieu.

MIKE POSNER receives GRAMMY Nomination for SONG OF THE YEAR

Don't tell Mike Posner he's the odd duck in the 59th Grammy Awards Song of the Year category.
Yes, his "I Took A Pill In Ibiza" is up against stiff competition from Beyonce, Adele, Justin Bieber (for whom Posner co-wrote 2012's "Boyfriend") and Lukas Graham. But you won't find him waving a white flag.
"What's meant to be will be," Posner -- who was visiting his parents in suburban Detroit on Tuesday (Dec. 6) when the nominations were announced -- tells Billboard. "I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated. I think I deserve to be nominated. I think everybody else in the category deserves to be nominated. There were a lot of good songs this year. I'm not the only good writer, but I'm one of them. And it feels good to be recognized by other writers and other musicians and the people who vote for the Grammys and have them telling me my stuff doesn't suck. That's nice to hear from your peers."
Here Is the Complete List of Nominees for the 2017 Grammys
Posner woke up to the Grammy nomination news with an early call from Island Records chief David Massey. "I didn't pick up 'cause I was still kind of sleepy," he recalls. "Then I looked at my phone and saw I had a lot of text messages, so I called him back and said, 'What happened?' Then he told me and, yeah, it's pretty surreal, man. It's quite an honor. My mom just went 'Whoo!' "My dad goes, 'You gonna be on TV?' I said, 'Yeah, I think so. Not today, though.'"
The Grammys, meanwhile, have always been on Posner's radar as a major career goal. "I think about it every morning -- seriously," he says. "It's a goal of mine, and I'm pretty good at making my goals happen when they're the ones I really care about. Like my list of things I want to do: Play Jimmy Fallon with the Roots. That happened. Finish the album [At Night, Alone.]. That happened. So, yeah, I think (a Grammy win) is going to happen at some point -- if not this year, one year."
"Ibiza," which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and went double platinum, is the first single from Posner's sophomore album, his first studio set in six years after a couple of false starts and a label switch. It appears on At Night, Alone. in both a delicate singer-songwriter version and an EDM-flavored remix by Seeb. Posner is gearing up for some projects in the new year, as well. A book of his poetry, Teardrops and Balloons, will be published March 24, and he has a new musical project called mansionz with fellow writer-producer blackbear.

FELICITY JONES AND ROGUE ONE TEAM KICK-START PROMOTIONS IN TOKYO

The much anticipated Rogue One: A Star Wars story is set to release on 16th December and its team kick started celebrations at the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo yesterday to promote the film. Felicity Jones wore a quirky satin striped dress for the event
“I feel like I’m standing on sacred ground,” Director Gareth
Edwards told the crowd of journalists recently.

One the major theme of the film that has been highlighted is that it contains a strong female lead. “People keep saying how amazing it is having a female lead and i just sort of feel, well, of course!” said Felicity Jones, “It shouldn’t be such a big deal. We are half the population.”
Gareth Edwards agrees agreed saying, “Obviously we have a female lead but I didn’t want to view it that way because the typical thing to do is to go overly into a badass stereotype of a tough woman that no one relates to.”
“Rogue One” tells the story of a group of unlikely heroes, who in a time of conflict band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction.
This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is all set to hit the Indian theaters on 16th December, 2016
