Bollywood stars attend special screening of PLAYGROUND Digital Cinema’s ‘Lonely Girl’

Sunil Kumar Thadani (Founder-CEO) and Mohan Shetty (Co-Founder) of PLAYGROUND – a digital cinema channel and a new web portal offering its viewers a bouquet of versatile genres for the Gen-X, hosted a special screening of their first short film, Lonely Girl at The View in Andheri. 

For the special screening of the thriller directed by Saurabh Varma, (who also directed Mickey Virus, Girl in Red and 7 hours to go) a lot of celebrities were present and praised the performance of the movie’s lead actors – Riya Sen and Kyra Dutt and Sunil Thadani and Mohan Shetty’s vision to create PLAYGROUND wishing them luck for the future projects. 

For those who may not know, PLAYGROUND is a new digital platform created to service the on-the-go customer. With a much younger, busier and digital savvy audience today, PLAYGROUND brings the big screen into the palm of your hand. Among the ones who attended the Lonely Girl screening included producers Sunil Thadani, Mohan Shetty, Ratnesh Jain, Saurabh Varma, Riya Sen, Kyra Dutt, Gaurav Chopra, Moon Moon Sen, Hiten Tejwani and Gauri, Nandish Sandhu, Rohit Khurana, Vivek Vaswani, Vibha Anand, Sharad Kelkar, Aishwarya Majumdar, Santosh Shukla and others. 

Lonely Girl talks about the stunning Radhika Kapoor (Riya Sen) who wakes up in her outhouse with distorted memories. As she struggles to assemble the past together, a mysterious stranger, Gauri (Kyra Dutt) appears and takes her down memory lane. There is a dead body in the house and the memory lane isn't exactly a cake walk. 

Interestingly, Mr Hip Hopper aka Ishq Bector also made his presence felt as he has sung few promotional songs for Playground Digital Cinema, out of which 'Bum Bum Bo' released on the web portal, recently

'Kunal kapoor loves his white shirt'

Recently Kunal Kapoor and actress Kritika Kamra were caught having an interesting exchange on twitter. Kunal demanded his white shirt back from Kritika. Kritika promised to return it on the 20th. ‘I keep asking her to give it back to me but she just refuses to give up on that shirt. I ll make sure I get it back on the 20th’, quips Kunal 

For those of you wondering what's going on Kunal Kapoor is set to appear in an 18-minute short film, White Shirt. Kunal says ‘Its about two people, Aveek and Vani, and how this one white shirt holds them together when they start to drift apart.’ The directorial debut of writer Sumit Aroraa, has been made under the banner of Highway Films and presented by Royal Stag Barrel Select. 

The film was shot on real locations over a period of 4 days. The director Sumit Arora says 'We shot on the streets, in a restaurant that was still serving food to customers on the side. I actually asked one of my friends to vacate the flat for 3 days. And then we painted the house and did the whole art according to the color palate that we wanted,’  

It’s the kind of relationship story that you don’t see these days. It’s very intimate and personal, about small things, about flawed characters, and that’s what I liked about it,’ says Kunal when asked about what excited him to be a part of it.

Prawaal Raman and Producer Shantanu Yadav to bring the story of renowned activist on screen.

After making the critically acclaimed film, ‘Main Aur Charles’ which was one of the top movies on Netflix last year, Prawaal Raman has also completed the official remake of the American Horror film ‘Oculus’ produced by Relativity B4U.

Prawaal's next film, a sweeping biopic based on the life and struggles of Naela Quadri Baloch- The much talked about freedom fighter from Balochistan is already under pre-production!

A Global Film is written and directed by Prawaal Raman, and is produced byPrawaal Raman and Shantanu Yadav along with an international studio. 

Interestingly,Inspector General of Maharashtra Police,Brijesh Singh, the acclaimed author of the book Quantam Siege is also co-writing a book on Naela Quadri along with director Prawaal Raman. 

For the uninitiated, Naela Quadri Baloch  is a Social and Women's rights activist, writer, poet and gives lectures internationally on Human rights.She is in exile from Baluchistan.Despite all the misery and hardships she is passing through,she is still following Gandhian and Martin Luthor king jr's footsteps to achieve her goals. 

When quizzed on this interesting project Producer Shantanu Yadav  said, “It’s an inspirational tale of the journey of an extraordinary woman ... 

And Prawaal adds “and a rebellious film about peace and freedom”.

Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack debuts #1 on Billboard 200 Album Chart

With a No.2 record for the first series “Fift Sahdes of Grey” soundtrack,The Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart this year with chart breaking songs by Zayn and Taylor swift,Hasley,Sia and many more.

The album earned 123,000 equivalent album units in the week ending February according to Nielsen Music of which a sum of 72,000 compiled of traditional album sales. The set was released through Universal Studios/Republic Records on the 10th of February with the leading hit single “I Don’t wanna live forever “by Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik.     

The “Fifty Shades Darker” album features 19 songs in total and is one of the first albums to reach atop after Suicide Squad album.Its first series Fifty shades of Grey made it to No.02 in 2015 with the set hitting it really well across the globe along with a record breaking sale. The Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack also staved off artists' post-Grammy sales surges as the compilation tied up Number One on the Billboard 200.

The soundtrack features 19 songs with a handful of covers and original singles from renowned artists.In addition the soundtrack also features some instrumental pieces by esteemed composer Danny Elfman along with original contributions from the likes of Tove Lo, Sia, The-Dream, John Legend, and Nick Jonas and Nicki Minaj and many more.
