DEBUTANT PRODUCER, SMITA TRIPATHI’S HORROR FILM ‘COOKIE’ TO GO ON FLOORS SOON

Smita Tripathi, with a burning desire to move into films, she launched Sixth Sense Cine Vision and their first production ‘Cookie’ is all set to go on floor soon. After going through many scripts which failed to chill her, Lalit Marathe’s ‘Cookie’ rattled her bones.
Reena Wadhwa is one of the leading actresses for this film and a nationwide hunt is on for 18 to 20 year old girls to play the lead character. Commenting on the film, Reema says, “I’m delighted to get back after a long sabbatical and I’m really excited and motivated with a great role and wonderful people to work with. I am sure this will be a fabulous restart to my journey as an actor.”

Lalit Marathe, who is the writer-director of the film and has worked on films like Bhoot and Swades in the past, describes ‘Cookie’ as an exercise in relentless mind numbing horror. It revolves around the belief that when people die they don’t really go away, they linger around us, close by hoping to set things right. So if one really wants see them then they can see them. For they want one to. If one doesn’t, they may try harder and this is where things can get out of hand. Because complicated people make complicated spirits. The movie is filled with terrifying moments that demonstrate how feeble our denials are against the existence of ghosts. According to Lalit, “Horror films are made to scare people. This film may scar.”
