Bipasha Basu to open self defense centers

Bipasha Basu is all set to establish a self defense academy for women next year , which will include lessons in kickboxing, Krav Maga and other forms of combat training .

The actress plans to open it in 3 key centers namely Mumbai, Delhi and her hometown Kolkata. The academy will primarily cater to young girls in the 13 to 30 age group but will also allow special enrollments by men and women in the older age group with decent fitness levels as well as martial arts enthusiasts.

Talking about the initiative says Bipasha, “Crime in India is escalating at an alarming rate and I believe self defence is the need of the hour. We are designing a week-long crash course initially, and will then turn it into a full-fledged one, spanning a month or more”.

Bipasha is currently in the process of zeroing in on certified trainers for the academy.

FASHION SHOW BY EMINENT DESIGNER SABYASACHI HIGHLIGHT OF THE AWARD CEREMONY

Film maker Gauri Shinde and entrepreneur Sussanne Khan are few of women who were honored here late last evening  by  Young FICCI ladies Organisation (YFLO)  as Young women Achievers for the year 2016-17 .

Sussanne Khan, who is  Hrithik Roshan’s ex-wife, has been a successful entrepreneur and interior designer. Gauri Shinde had made several ad films before she ventured into Bollywood movies. Her film English Vinglish starring Sridevi was critically acclaimed. Her recent film was Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dear Zindagi which received appreciation from the audience and critics. Both were recognised as young achievers. 

YFLO  confers these  Young Achievers awards  to outstanding women who have excelled in their respective fields and made a significant contribution to society. The primary objective of these awards conferred every year  is to promote entrepreneurship and professional excellence in women. Young women under the age of 45 are chosen from diverse fields and are felicitated through these awards. 

The other eminent young women achievers who were conferred awards for the year 20161-17 included Simran Lal (Business), Kalli Purie (Media), Shaina NC (Politics), Deepa Malik ( Sports), Chiki Sarkar ( Literature), Malvika Poddar ( Fashion), Preeti Chandra (Community Service), Bhavna Kakkar (Art) & Vidha Lal ( Performing Arts).  The felicitation ceremony took place in the presence of Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, Hon’ble Minister for Textile, Government of India. 

“Indian handmade textile industry  which employs more than 43 lakh weavers and allied workers engaged in it, 78 per cent are women. We need to show further support to the weaver community  which weaves the diverse fabric of our nation’s rich heritage This community represents our country’s rich heritage and bring international fame to our nation “ said Ms Smriti Irani ,Minister of Textile while speaking on the occasion. 

The major highlight of this year’s Awards ceremony was a fashion show by eminent fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who pioneered the use of Indian textiles in a modern context. 

FLO President, Vinita Bimbhet; YFLO Delhi Chairperson, Trupti Gupta, FLO Past Presidents & YFLO Committee Members were the show stoppers , who walked the ramp, in exquisitely designed creations by Sabyasachi.

The organization believes in recognizing successful women, who other than excelling in their respective fields are icons of inspiration to society and encourage other women to brave the odds and emerge victorious” said Ms Trupti Gupta, Chairperson, YFLO , while welcoming the guests.

The Annual function also marked the change of hands at YFLO with its chairperson Trupti Gupta handing over the reins to incoming Chairperson, Aanchal Sethi .

राष्ट्रीय फिल्म पुरस्कारों में प्रियंका चोपड़ा की फिल्म

प्रियंका चोपडा की बतौर फिल्म निर्माता पहली मराठी फिल्म वेंटीलेटर ने ६४ वे राष्ट्रीय फिल्म पुरस्कारों में तीन  पुरस्कार जीते हैं !  प्रियंका चोपडा के प्रोडक्शन हाऊस पर्पल पेबल पिक्चर्स की फिल्म वेंटीलेटर पिछले साल ४ नवंबर को रिलीज़ हुई थी। पारिवारिक मूल्यों,  रीति-रिवाजों, परंपराओं,  भावनाओं और भारतीय संस्कारों के बारें में है यह फिल्म । कामेरकर परिवार के गज्जू काका गणेश गणेश चतुर्थी से कुछ दिन पहले कोमा में चले जाते हैं। उन्हें वेंटीलेटर पर रख दिया जाता है।  पूरा परिवार चिंतित है कि अब गणेश चतुर्थी का त्यौहार खराब हो जाएगा। इस फिल्म की दिल छूने वाली परिवारिक कहानी को दर्शकों ने काफी सराहा था । डॉ. मधु चोपडा और प्रियंका चोपडा निर्मिति इस फिल्म को राजेश मापुरस्कर ने निर्देशित किया था । राष्ट्रीय फिल्म पुरस्कारों में वेंटीलेटर के निर्देशक राजेश मापुस्कर को श्रेष्ठ निर्देशक चुना गया।  फिल्म के एडिटर रामेश्वर भगत ने सर्वश्रेष्ठ संपादन और आलोक डे को सर्वश्रेष्ठ साउंड मिक्सिंग का पुरस्कार मिला । पारिवारिक मनोरंजक फिल्म वेंटीलेटर में आशुतोष गोवारिकर और बमन इरानी के साथ मराठी थिएटर औऱ सिने जगत के कई दिग्गज कलाकारों ने अभिनय किया हैं। वेंटीलेटर को तीन राष्ट्रीय फिल्म पुरस्कार मिलाने पर फिल्म की निर्माता और प्रियंका चोपड़ा की माँ डॉ मधु चोपड़ा कहती हैं,  "हम काफी खुश हैं। पर्पल पेबल पिक्चर्स ने एक सपना देखा था, वह आज सच्चाई में उतर कर आया हैं। यह फिल्म हमारे दिल के करीब हैं।" राजेश मापुस्कर कहतें हैं, "मैं अवाक हूँ। मेरी पहली मराठी फिल्म के लिए यह राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार जीतना मेरे लिए एक सपना सच होने से कम नहीं है। मैं पूरे वेंटीलेटर की टीम का, विशेष रूप से निर्माता प्रियंका चोपड़ा और डॉ मधु चोपड़ा का आभार व्यक्त करता हूँ। प्रियंका और डॉ. मधु चोपडा ने मुझ पर भरोसा रखा। फिल्म वेंटीलेटर पर इस वक्त पुरस्कारों की बरसात हो रहीं हैं। और राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार से ज्यादा भला मैं क्या मांग सकता हूँ। "
