Imagine Dragons rise to Number 1 on Billboard Artist 100 for the First Time

The American rock band IMAGINE DRAGONS has broken a record and for the first time ever in history the ‘Las Vegas’ rockers make it to the top of the Billboard Artists 100. The band leaped from number 8 to  Number 1 to become the top musical act in the United States for the first time. The Artist 100 concept was launched in July 2014 which takes into account and measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide an overall accurate understanding of artist popularity. 

The band released their new album ‘Evolve’ on the 23rd of June, shortly after which it debuted at the number 2 spot on the Billboard 200 list. A single from the album ‘Believer’ made it to the top 10 at number 6 on the Hot 100 list. Album sales contribute the majority of the rock band's Artist 100 chart points (67 percent), followed by digital song sales (17 percent). In the three history of Artist 100, only Katy Perry has completed a longer ascent to Number 1 than Imagine Dragons. The album has been soaring high and continues to break records.

Amaal Mallik composes the wedding song of the year for Mubarakan which is released today

Amaal Mallik is famously known for his super hit tracks like Kar Gayi Chul, Sooraj Dooba Hai and has now come up with another dance number which is perfect for wedding! T​he Goggle Song​ from Mubarakan got released today and it​ is a complete wedding dance number. This ​is ​a very singable melody with a folkish touch to it. The two real highlights of this song are the production and the singers on this song. 

Sonu Nigam will be heard rendering vocals on a dance track after quite a while and he has killed it.​ ​The other big surprise is the tone Armaan Malik has created on this song​ which is completely different from his other songs​. 

​Commenting on his composition thought, Amaal commented, "​I really needed someone to go and complement Sonu Ji's vocals & I tried various textures. Something in me was never sure as to I would finalise the other voice of Arjun Kapoor.I had Sonu nigam as one, needed a another voice and after trying a few voices Arjun, Anees Sir & I zeroed In on Armaan.​ ​During the dub I heard how he had tweaked his texture to nature of this song. I knew I had my second voice.

The audience is going to hear him like never before! You'll also hear my voice lingering in the hook lines.​"​ 

The female portions are rendered by Neeti Mohan & Tulsi Kumar. The song had to sound like one big fat celebration and therefore the amount of singers adds to the wholeness of the tune.​

Amaal made sure that the Dhols are recorded live, so the wedding feel and energy is felt in the song and remains intact. There's a constant give & take between the Urban & Desi elements in the production and the perfect blend of both give​s​ it the kick it needs to make you get up & dance.

Amaal also said, "I believe a song needs to produced in a way, that when you close your eyes, you can imagine the video. That's always the path I follow. When we locked Goggle's production, I could picture a wedding & how the song would be shot. That was all I needed to feel assured." 

Goggle has a clubby dubstep meets Bhangra approach along with a simple Punjabi melody with Quirky Lyrics by the very talented Kumaar​. 

Amaal Mallik will next be composing the music for the Golmaal 4 series.          

When Arjun Kapoor Recreated Dhak Dhak Karne Laga with Boman Irani on Sabse Bada Kalakar

In the Sunday episode of Sony Entertainment Television’s kids acting reality show Sabse Bada Kalakar, the cast of Mubarakan Athiya Shetty, Ileana D'Cruz, Arjun Kapoor and Anil Kapoor will be seen shaking a leg with a contestants and judges to playing games and challenges on the show. 

Arjun Kapoor who is known to be very sporting was given a challenge Jay Bhanushali to do a seductive dance with Boman Irani. Arjun not only took up the challenge, but also chose one of the most sensuous numbers, Dhak Dhak Karne Laga from Beta, to dance to. 

A source from the sets says, “Arjun slayed it with his seductive moves. His steps were the same as that of Madhuri Dixit’s in the original and he ended the song by kissing Boman, who was equally sporting. Boman later said, ‘Arjun was so good that it felt real to me’.”
