It’s Show Time As The Much-Acclaimed Gandhi: The Musical Gears Up For Season 3

Gandhi: The Musical received a phenomenal response from theater enthusiasts during its first two seasons and now, the musical extravaganza is all set to return to Mumbai for its third run. 

The third season of the much-acclaimed musical, which left the audiences awestruck with its magnitude, power-packed performances and novel treatment, will commence from August 4 and will conclude on 15th August, including an Independence Day show to keep up with the patriotic milieu, at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai. The makers have kept a limited engagement for this exhilarating theatrical experience, so book early to avoid disappointment. 

Written and directed by Danesh R. Khambata, the play follows the extraordinary journey of a remarkable man from being Mohandas to Mahatma and his 'Experiments With Truth'. Through his play Khambata wants to tell the story of Mohandas and not showcase him as Mahatma. Thus, the play doesn’t glorify Gandhi but rather touches upon the mind of Mohandas and the making of Mahatma. 

It focuses on his days as a barrister, his struggle and his voyage to champion the cause of the oppressed in South Africa, with non-violence and passive resistance being his only weapons – this includes the advent of the concept of Satyagraha. It then showcases how he finally returns to his homeland and puts the mighty British Empire on the back foot. The musical presents his remarkable life through 14 original songs, 9 dance sequences, powerful dialogues and a spectacular script, which depicts the era of the leader, who shaped the destiny of an entire nation. 

Abhishek Krishnan, Nishi Doshi, Harssh Singh, Francois Castellino, Crystal Sequeira, Uday Chandra, Vivek Tandon, Darius Shroff and Rohit Tiwari are playing the lead roles in Gandhi – A Musical and Bollywood actor Boman Irani has also lent his voice to the play. Nariman Khambata and Rahul Pais have composed the music, while Bertwin D’souza has choreographed the dance sequences. The third season has a special surprise as Danesh Khambata himself will be essaying the role of the aged Gandhi.

Starring Mithun Chakraborty as Shambu Dada, fans will see him playing a character on Indian television for the first time. He will be the ring master of a crew of a crew of highly misfit characters including Ali Asgar, Dr. Sanket Bhosale, Sugandha Mishra, Krushna Abhishek, Sudesh Lehri, Ridhima Pandit, Tanaji and Aru Verma. 

 Every episode will feature the team of misfits aspiring to make a blockbuster play to impress Shambhu Dada in exchange for a promise of a world tour. But as luck would have it, nothing will go right. The hilarious turn of events will push the madcap team to start afresh with a brand-new play every week. Little do they know that Shambu Dada is a sham, whose is running his own business by selling tickets for the play.

Desi Bond Nawazuddin Siddiqui launches the trailer of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz

With an unprecedented and overwhelming response to the quirky posters and intriguing teaser of Kiran Shyam Shroff and Ashmith Kunder’s Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, the makers of the gripping drama were quite happy to unveil the entertaining trailer of the movie featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Divya Dutta, newcomer Bidita Bag, Shraddha Das and Murli Sharma. 

The colourful trailer of the gripping drama was conducted amidst a packed house by producer Kiran Shyam Shroff and Ashmith Kunder, director Kushan Nandy, writer Ghalib Asad Bhopali, and the cast Nawazuddin, Divya Dutta, Bidita Bag and Murli Sharma. 

Love, friendship, loyalty, deceit and revenge make the life and times of the sharp shooter Babu in Babumoshai Bandookbaaz. 

Nawazuddin says, “Shooting Babumoshai at real locations in Uttar Pradesh was really an interesting experience. The treatment is quite real and entertaining. I like enacting real characters like the one I play in this film and that gives me a high. I’m happy to be part of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz.”  

Director Kushan Nandy adds, “When I had approached Nawazuddin with the script, he liked it but wasn’t fully convinced with it. Later, we sat together with the writer Ghalib Asad Bhopali and modified the script. Had Nawazuddin said no for the film, I wouldn’t have made Babumoshai Bandookbaaz because he is the only actor who can pull off Babu’s role.” 

Produced by Kiran Shyam Shroff and Ashmith Kunder, directed by Kushan Nandy and written by Ghalib Asad Bhopali, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, also featuring debutant actress Bidita Bag, Murli Sharma, Jatin Goswami, Shraddha Das, Anil George, Jeetu Shivhare, Bhagwan Tiwari and Divya Dutta is scheduled to release on 25th August, 2017.

Mega Power Star Ram Charan and Koratala Siva to team up

For the first time, Megapower Star Ram Charan will be collaborating with director Koratala Siva for a prestigious project. After delivering a Blockbuster with ‘Khaidi No 150’ earlier this year, Ram Charan is currently producing a mammoth biopic  "Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy" as Production No.2 on his banner Konidela Production Company with Megastar Chiranjeevi garu and director Surender Reddy. Now he will be acting & bankrolling in this most awaited project with Koratala Siva as Production No.3 on Konidela Production Company along with Niranjan Reddy, who earlier produced films like Kshanam and Ghazi under Matinee Entertainments banner. This project will commence from Summer 2018.
