Arjun Bijlani on hosting IIFA in New York: It'a a dream come true

Actor Arjun Bijlani will be hosting IIFA this year and is excited for the same. The ceremony will be held in New York this year and the actor is looking forward to it. "I am hosting the IIFA weekend stories, IIFA rewind and the Green carpet. I have also hosted last year in Madrid, Spain. So this is my second time," he says, adding, "I am going to have a blast this time in New York. I have not been to New York before. I am super excited to be go to Times Square. When we were kids, we had heard so much about the city, that it is fast and pacy, it is like Mumbai but in America.I always wanted to go there and experience that. So it is like a dream come true."
The actor says that he loves hosting and how it all depends on managing situations on the spot. "I am an impromptu anchor. Anchoring is not what you prepare, it is all about your presence of mind and how easy flowing you are when you are actually doing it. I think, I am very easy flowing, my anchoring is not caricaturish, I do not imitate anyone. I have a conversation which is funny and impromptu and make the other person comfortable," he says.
Apart from the place, Arjun is also looking forward to meeting his favourite actors. "I am looking forward to meeting Varun Dhawan. I have actually met him before and he is very sweet. He is always been very nice to talk to. I am also looking forward to meeting my favourite Alia Bhatt and having a nice conversation with her," says Arjun.

Talking about his look for the awards, Arjun says, "That will be decided by the designers over there. I guess it will be more of a casual look and at the carpet, it will be a designer suit or something."

Karan Wahi's all set for IIFA

Actor Karan Wahi, who will be hosting IIFA, says that he can't wait to get to New York, where the awards are being hosted this year. "Going to New York is always great fun. I just came back from New York a week back, though I was only there for two days. This time around because of IIFA, I'll b there for a longer duration, I am excited bout IIFA because it's a global event and being a part of it is always nice. This is going to be my second IIFA, the first one being Macau, a few years back," he says.
The actor, who has hosted shows before, says anchoring requires a lot of presence of mind. "When you are hosting the red carpet or conducting interactions with the actors up close and personal, it has to be impromptu. One has to know what to ask and what not to. Since I know a lot of actors personally, it becomes easier for me to have a great interactive session with them," he says, adding, "I follow a lot of actors' hosting styles. I love Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karan Johar and Shahid Kapoor."
In fact, Karan can't wait to meet the actors. "I am happy I am going to be meeting my favourite actors, who I have known and admired. Having a blast with them is what I intend to do," he says.
Ask him what he would be wearing at the ceremony and he says, "My look has been decided by the channel and I guess it's going to be more on the lines of semi-casual, since I'll be hosting the weekend stories, fun moments and the red carpet would surely be a formal affair."
Karan has been travelling a lot for work, but he isn't complaining. "I have been on the go because of work, though it gets tiring, nothing is better than traveling," he says.

He might be busy travelling, but he hasn't put on any weight. ask him how he manages to stay in shape and he says, "I am fit because I don't worry about it too much. When I am travelling, I try and follow a regime and even if I can't do it, I don't stress about it. And I guess that's why even the vacation food doesn't show."

Nikhil Sinha’s VFX institute inaugurated by Gautam Rode and Karanveer Bohra
Successful producer Nikhil Sinha has been the force behind some of the most inspiring television shows including ‘Siya Ke Ram’ and ‘Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev’. Now, Nikhil has added a new feather to his cap. The visual effects company that he owns titled Vertex Volt has been directly involved in the visual effects of many popular shows on Indian television. Besides shows for Triangle Films, company has done the visual effects for shows like ‘Mahakumbh’, ‘Shapath,Chandranandini’, ‘Naagarjun’, ‘Devon Ka Dev Mahadev’, ‘Hatim, Siya Ke Ram’, ‘Prem Ya Paheli Chandrakanta’ and many more.
Speaking about the venture Nikhil says, “We started this company in 2011 when we started with ‘Mahadev’.  As a technical person, I have been always inclined towards visual arts and effects. Also, I personally make shows which have a lot of VFX. I am someone who always tries to give something new to the industry. And when you work on shows which have loads of VFX, you understand your need more.”
Now the producer has gone ahead and launched a VFX institute as a way of promoting the quality of visual effects in TV shows and films. And to launch the institute, actors Gautam Rode and Karanveer Bohra joined Nikhil. Talking about the venture, he says, “I feel so good about this. All my other work kept aside, this project was my dream, and it gives me immense satisfaction. Sharing your knowledge through the process of education gives one that satisfaction which is more than happiness.”
About the institute and his future plans, Nikhil says, “My plan is to open almost twenty centres in coming three years. The reason behind choosing Ahmedabad was that we wanted to choose a center where education is always available. Next, we are planning institutes in Baroda and Lucknow. Our aim is to provide education on visual effects because the field is not as developed in India. This is a more of a skill-based education, not that typical theoretical education. It is hands-on education which will be important for the students when they enter the practical field. We will also open centers in Mumbai, Delhi and other metropolitan cities after we expand in other B-towns.”
Nikhil has partnered with Hardik Gajjar for the venture. About Hardik, he says, “Hardik is my partner in the Vertex. We have known each other since six years, from the time of the show ‘Devon Ka Devon Mahadev’. We started the company Vertex VFX Studios and are both very passionate people. We are always on the lookout for new technology, new trends and designs. So, four years back, we decided that this education should be distributed all over. Thus we opened this training centre where we could train young talent for the industry. Besides that, Hardik has 18 years of experience in the VFX field.”

Well, we are glad that the duo is pursuing their dream and spreading knowledge along the way. Way to go, Nikhil and Hardik!
