Ballet dance in the presence of Partition: 1947 star cast on The Drama Company

Recently Huma Qureshi and Gurinder Chadha were seen promoting their movie Partition: 1947 and having a blast on Sony Entertainment Television’s The Drama Company. This was Huma Qureshi and Gurinder Chadha’s first appearance on The Drama Company and they never failed to entertain them. 

It was a beautiful ballet dance when Ridhima Pandit entered on stage with cute little kids shaking a leg. Huma Qureshi was highly impressed with her skills and wanted to learn a few steps from her. 

Source from the set revealed, “Ridhima stole Huma Qureshi’s heart away with her performance. The cute little kids made it even more glamorous to watch.”

The Drama Company with A Gentleman

Tonight’s episode of Sony Entertainment Television’s The Drama Company will see the cast of A Gentleman – Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez enjoy the laughter roller coaster. The episode will start with Karan V Grover who poses as a journalists and conducts a funny sit down interview with the guests. Sidharth and Jacqueline talk about the pole dance training where Jacqueline Fernandez reveals that she has two poles at home and practices every morning at 7:00AM. Mithun Da, Jacqueline and Sidharth Malhotra, will be seen dancing to Mithun Da’s steps and Jacqueline Fernandez in return sings a song for Mithun Da. During one of the acts, Jacqueline will be seen an as anchor as well doing a funny skit with the cast members. 

The episode will see a lot of pole dancing and singing where Sudesh Lehri sings a song and Jacqueline Fernandez and Krushna Abhishek dances on the song 'Aaj Mausam, Bada Baiman'. Sidharth Malhotra on the other hand does a romantic dance with Ridhima Pandit and raps with Ali Asgar and Sanket Bhosale. It gets even hilarious when Sanket Bhosale starts rapping in Sanju Baba’s voice. Asgar and Sugandha Mishra on 'chitiya kaliya'. 

The main highlight of the episode will be Mithun Chakraborty doing a sensational poll dance and the cast celebrating Jacqueline’s birthday. The actress who looked visibly surprised that she said that it was her best birthday ever she could celebrate on The Drama Company.

Rahul Kumar Tewary speaks on STRIKE

FWICE Strike: The body is purposely trying to create a tiff between Producers association and the workers, says producer Rahul Kumar Tewary

Numerous cine employees, who are part of Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), went on an indefinite strike from yesterday (August 16). The issues which they are fighting for vary from the safety of workers, payments to number of working hours per day.

Giving the producers’ side of the story, Rahul Kumar Tewary, Producer Swastik Productions says, “Producers believes that this strike is certainly not in the best interest of the industry. The FWICE is unnecessarily creating rift between the workers and association. In fact, the Allied Mazdoor union which holds more than 50 thousand members, CINTAA, director association and many other affiliates of FWICE have openly criticised the strike as they are aware that it’s nothing more than a baseless approach to stall the functioning of the industry for personal gains.

The producer feels that FWICE is purposely creating rift for its own ulterior motives and does not have the best interest of the workers in mind. Every work place has its own issues and can be made better. The industry has come a long way today and basics like insurance, hygiene, payments, shooting hours are already in place.

He adds, “The FWICE is aware of all these actions taken by producers, but because of their internal disputes, they are purposely trying to create issues and stop normal functioning of the industry.”

Talking about the current situation, Rahul says that issues relating to payments are being worked upon. “The federation has been making unrealistic demands since 2015. The Producer association has met them numerous times and conveyed the same. We cannot afford to give 22% increment.

However, we understand that there's an inflation and so we sat down together with the Allied Mazdoor Union which represents the light men, spot, setting and other workforce and both agreed to a 7½% increment p.a,” he says.

Rahul adds, “Now, there is a dispute between the Federation and the Allied Mazdoor Union, they don't get along with each other. Since we have discussed with the Allied Mazdoor Union which doesn't get along with the Federation this has become a battle of egos. The federation, in order to out show the Allied Mazdoor Union, has called for a strike. They want the producers to agree to a higher percentage of increment so they could win their internal battles.”

How is this fair? asks Rahul. “They have also raised pointers like insurance , monthly payments etc ... The Producer association along with the broadcasters have a mandatory clause of insurance for all its workers. A daily fiction show cannot start without insurance. The workers are paid like every other monthly employee of the unit.

The Federation is basically stating incorrect details to the workers and stirring the strike,” he says.However, Rahul adds that such problems can’t be avoided. “This is a huge industry and there are bound to be issues with some members of our association - can the federation claim to have no rogue elements amongst the unions it represents? Are they perfect? I don’t think so. In order to eradicate such elements and issues at both ends - we have a dispute committee,” he says. 

Rahul feels that problems need to be dealt in a proper way. “There's a process to be followed! You can’t put the whole industry at risk claiming it to be a widespread issue. Today, we don't have any written understanding with the federation since 2015 and a pending case with the Competition Commission of India but all the producers are working with the same union members and paying the agreed rate,” he says. 

However, the strike doesn’t seem to have affected the work flow. “Although the strike is on, every television show is shooting. The workers have clearly seen through the ulterior motives and are in complete support of shoot. There are affiliates of federation who have denounced the strike,” he says. 

The matter has been politicised as well, something which has never happened before, says Rahul. “The federation has always been a non-political representative trade body but the current set of people in the federation have approached political parties to support them, they know the workers / technicians are happily working ... they are trying to create fear/create nuisance for the industry, they are desperate to make this strike a success because of which there have been internal disputes amongst their members and most of the affiliate unions are not supporting the strike,” he adds.

Rahul says that the crew of his shows have no issues and want to work. “In regards to Swastik all my shows are shooting, all the workers, technicians are together and everyone wants to work. There is no one who wants to stay away and join this baseless strike,” he says, adding, “We are fortunate and proud of our team. Majority of the workers and technicians have been part of the Swastik family for years and they have always stood by us. It’s all part of our journey together to create something valuable in this life.” 

Swastik Productions is run by Siddharth Kumar Tewary and Rahul Kumar Tewary who have produced wide variety of shows ranging from Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Na Kijo, Ambar Dhara, Phulwa, Navya to Mahabharat, Suryaputra Karn and Karamphaldata Shani and Shankar Jai KIshen 3 in 1. Porus is one of the most awaited project of the year.

नवाजुद्दीन ने दिल्ली में किया ‘बाबुमोशाय बंदूकबाज’ का प्रमोशन

बॉलीवुड अभिनेता नवाजुद्दीन सिद्दीकी आजकल छाए हुए हैं। असीम प्रतिभाशाली एक्टर होने के कारण उनकी फिल्मों की प्रतीक्षा हर आयु वर्ग के दर्शकों को रहती है। 25 अगस्त को उनकी एक और अतिमहत्वाकांक्षी एवं बहुप्रतीक्षित एक्शन थ्रिलर फिल्म‘बाबूमोशाय बंदूकबाज’ रिलीज होने वाली है। इसी फिल्म के प्रमोशन के सिलसिले में नवाज पिछले दिनों अपने सहयोगी कलाकारों- बिदिता बेग, श्रद्धा दास, जतिन गोस्वामी एवं निर्माता अश्मित कुंदर के साथ दिल्ली में थे। होटल द रॉयल प्लाजा में आयोजित प्रेस सम्मेलन में मीडिया के साथ बातचीत में नवाज़ और फिल्म के अन्य कलाकारों ने अपने अनुभव और फिल्म की खासियत साझा की।

फिल्म के बारे में नवाज ने कहा, ‘फिल्म का किरदार विशेष और अनोखा है, वह सभी सामाजिक और नैतिक मूल्यों से बाहर है, वह एक अजीब हास्य का रूप धारण कर लेता है।’ नवाजुद्दीन सिद्दीकी ने अपने किरदार के बारे में बताया, ‘टाइटल बंदूकबाज से ही पता चलता है कि बाबूमोशाय बंदूक के बिना नहीं चलता है। इसलिए इस फिल्म में कुछ अलग तरह के एक्शन हैं।’ नवाज ने बताया, ‘‘बाबूमोशाय बंदूकबाज’ में मैं एक कॉन्ट्रैक्ट किलर की भूमिका में नजर आऊंगा, जो रोमांस भी करता नजर आएगा। हमारा मानना है कि एक कॉन्ट्रैक्ट किलर भी रोमांस कर सकता है, क्योंकि रोमांस एक तरह से नहीं, बहुत तरीके से होता है। हर किसी के रोमांस का तरीका अलग होता है। वैसे ही मेरा जो कैरेक्टर है, वह अपने हिसाब से रोमांस करता है।’सेंसर प्रमाणन के बारे में नवाज ने कहा कि यह फिल्म बनावटी नहीं, बल्कि वास्तविक है। पहले इसमें 48 कट लगाने की बात की जा रही थी, लेकिन ऊपरवाले की दया से सेंसर ने सिर्फ 4 से 5 कटौती की है। हालांकि, फ़िल्म अपने दृश्यों के अनुसार थोड़ा सा बोल्ड जरूर है, लेकिन इसके बावजूद 48 कट की कोई जरूरत नहीं थी। उन्होंने कहा कि हम सबके लिए यह फिल्म विशेष है। फिल्म की अधकांश शूटिंग पूर्वी उत्तर प्रदेश एवं लखनऊ के आसपास हुई है। मुझे यकीन है कि लोग इस फिल्म को पसंद करेंगे।’

कुशन नंदी द्वारा निर्देशित और किरण श्याम श्रॉफ-आश्मित कपूर द्वारा निर्मित ‘बाबूमोशाय बंदूकबाज’ बाबू (नवाजुद्दीन) के बारे में एक विचित्र कहानी है, जो एक कांट्रैक्ट किलर है और वेश्यावृत्ति में भी शामिल है, साथ ही वह एक लड़की (बिदिता बेग) के साथ प्यार में भी पड़ जाता है। फिल्म की कहानी नवाजुद्दीन और दूसरे कॉन्ट्रैक्ट किलर के साथ तय हुई एक शर्त के इर्द-गिर्द घूमती है। दोनों किलर्स को तीन लोगों को मारने का कॉन्ट्रैक्ट मिलता है। नवाजुद्दीन दूसरे कि‍लर को कहता है कि जिसने तीन में से दो लोगों को पहले मार दिया, उसे तीनों को मारने के पूरे पैसे मिलेंगे और जो हार गया, वह यह धंधा छोड़ देगा। कुल मिलाकर फिल्म की कहानी कांट्रैक्ट किलर के प्यार, उसके दोस्त, उसकी प्रतिद्वंद्विता और उनका बदला के इर्दगिर्द घूमती है। बाबू के प्यार में पड़ने से फिल्म में एक मोड़ आता है।
