Apoorva Lakhia: ‘I was approached to make a film on Dawood but destiny had other plans and I ended up making ‘Haseena Parkar’

Apoorva Lakhia, who is known for his slick thrillers, is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Haseena Parkar’, which is based on the life of dreaded don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena and Apoorva has an interesting story about how this project came to be. 

In a candid chat, Lakhia admitted, “I was actually approached to make a film on Dawood, which I refused as there have been so many films based on him. But the makers told me that people don’t know much about Dawood’s younger days and this intrigued me so I agreed to meet his family members to get to know more about him.” 

Apoorva added that this was when he met Haseena and her story fascinated him a lot. “Haseena was this innocent girl from a crime family and what she went through because of her family background, fascinated me a lot and I proposed that we make a film on her instead. Though she was initially reluctant, we finally managed to persuade her to share her story with us and the rest is history.” 

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Haseena Parkar stars Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhanth Kapoor and Ankur Bhatia. Produced by Nahid Khan with Swiss Entertainment and co-produced by Sameer Antulay and Babu Tyagi, the film is set to release on September 22.

Shraddha Kapoor Explored Nagpada In A Burkha To Understand Her ‘Haseena Parkar’ Character

Shraddha Kapoor, who has mostly played the female lead in sweet love stories, took up a challenge when she gave her nod to the lead role in Apoorva Lakhia’s upcoming film ‘Haseena Parkar’, which is based on the life of dreaded don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Aapa and the actress had to do much more than rely on prosthetics and body suits to play the character well. 

Sources attached to the film claim that in order to get a feel of Nagpada and Haseena’s way of life, Shraddha wore a burkha and visited the neighbourhood. The actress also met Haseena’s family members to get insights about her life and personality. Shraddha claims that exploring Nagpada incognito helped her a lot to understand her character and the world that she grew up in.

The First Poster launch of Arbaaz Khan & Sunny Leone starter ‘Tera Intezar’

Bageshree Films Pvt Ltd first venture in Bollywood Sunny Leone & Arbaaz Khan starrer Tera intezaar is set for release.  Recently, the star-cast along with Raajeev Walia (director) of the movie did the first poster launch in Delhi at Hotel Taj Palace. Bageshree Films Pvt Ltd has tied up with Blue Fox Motion Pictures for the release of the film Tera Intezaar.

The plot revolves around Rounak ( Sunny Leone )  who is an  art-gallery owner who falls in love  with Veer ( Arbaaz Khan ) who is a  natural painter. One fine morning, Rounak finds Veer missing & she frantically starts looking for him everywhere.  Rounak sees weird things happening around her which scares her. The film is set around the  search of  Rounak for  her love  during which  she goes  through many  unbelievable mishaps  is what  Tera Intezaar is all  about.

Tera Intezaar is a very stylish  film which  has a  Hollywood look  with  Bollywood feel. It is a  Musical  Romantic  Thriller with  twist  & turns from the  word go. The film will show Sunny Leone from a very different perspective and angle that you have never seen before. She will be seen playing the character of Rounak.  Apart from Arbaaz Khan and Sunny Leone, the film stars Sudha Chandran, Salil Ankola,  Richa Sharma, Hanif Noida, Bani Singh,  Gauhar Khan &  Aarya Babbar. 

Tera Intezaar is set to release on 24th November 2017 all over the globe.

Sara Khan’s turns Laila in BakulaBuaKaBhoot

Bollywood is known to have hot and catchy item numbers but television world is also not behind when it comes to entertaining their viewers. To liven up your television screen, the vivacious Sara Khan will be seen adding to the festive celebrations in &TV’s popular dramedy, Bakula BuaKaBhoot. 

The sexy Sara Khan will be seen as the judge of a Navratri dance competition in the show. Apart from judging the competition, she will also be sizzling on a dance number on the blockbuster item number ‘Laila O Laila’ from the movie Raees. Sara was very excited about her special appearance and said, “Dancing comes to me naturally, so whenever I get an opportunity like this, I quickly grab it. BakulaBuaKaBhoot has a very unique story, it’s full of drama and comedy so I am looking forward to have great time shooting for the show. Even though it’s a cameo, I am sure viewers will love to see me.”

When Riya Sen refused to shoot intimate scenes for Ragini MMS Returns

Making for one of the boldest posters, ALTBalaji’s web series, Ragini MMS Returns unveiled its first look and left the social media space rife with uproar.

Essaying a pivotal role as Simran in the horror and sex genre, Riya Sen read the script and knew that the series would feature an intimate scene between her and her co-star Nishant Malkani, meant to be shot in an explicit manner.

However, while shooting the scene, the gorgeous actress felt uncomfortable. Fearing that she would have to breach her comfort zone, Riya approached the director of the web series, Suyash Vadhavkar and conveyed her concern. Resonating ALTBalaji’s belief that an actor’s comfort is paramount, the director, toned down the intimate scene considerably and shot it aesthetically. Once the talented actress was at ease, she pulled off the scene with great élan.

Riya says, “I had reservations shooting for the intimate scene. I discussed my discomfort with Suyash and finally convinced him to tone down the scene.”
