Actor
Arun Mandola, who was part of the show Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman, has
undergone a makeover. The actor has completely transformed himself and loves
his new look. “I have changed the way I look. I had put on 10kg and my friends used to tell me, ‘Bhai Mota
hogaya hai,’ which is why I decided to undergo this make over,” says Arun, who
even got a special photoshoot done by his friend Bhushan Gandhi.
The
actor says that the secret to his fitness is a long and dedicated struggle. “I
started all the necessary preparations. I did everything to stay fit right from
working out at the gym, martial arts. I took part in outdoor games and the
output is in front of you,” he says, adding, “I have few rules and regulations
in my life and I never break them. I have a fixed schedule. My sleep timings
are regular and I take time to work out every day.”
While
looks are important, acting skills are paramount, says Arun. “Good looks give
you an advantage in this industry. But after doing my show "Sankat Mochan
Mahabali Hanuman", I realised without acting, your looks won't work for
long. Of course, an actor should always keep changing himself according to the
character,” he adds.
Ask
him who the most good looking actors in Bollywood are and he says, “Akshay
Kumar and Priyanka Chopra. I can't forget Akshay's Movie, Khilaḍiyoṅ ka
khilaḍi. His action scenes, round kicks, jumps were
amazing. Priyanka Chopra is also very good looking, plus her action sequences
in her show Quantico are phenomenal.”
Talking
about his future plans, he says, “I wish I get the chance to be part of a
vampire show. That would be exciting and something different.”
While
he played the role of Lord Shiva in his last show Siya Ke ram, actor Rohit
Bakshi is now part of another mythological show. The actor is playing the role
of Kaamdev in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s show Mahakali– Anth hi Aarambh hai, in a
cameo. Rohit says he is the loving being part of the show. “I knew who Kaamdev
was but once I started shooting for the show, I got to know the details about
his character and found it to be very interesting. I wanted to know more. It's
a unique experience and I am totally loving it,” says Rohit.
Rohit
loves his look on the show as well. “I am very happy with the costume. It is
really beautiful with a lot of detailing plus jewellery is amazing. I take
about an hour to get ready every day. I actually feel like Kaamdev after
wearing my costume,” he says, adding, “I saw the first two episodes of Mahakali
and was so amazed to look at the larger than life feel of the show. It's shot
like a film with such beautiful sets. The characters are so well defined. I am
very happy to be a part of such a big show and am just enjoying myself.”
Talking
about working with Swastik Productions, Rohit says, “This is the first time for
me with Swastik and I am happy to be working with them. They are really nice
people to work with. This is also my first time in Umbergaon and it's a
different world altogether.”
The
team work of the cast and crew of Mahakali has left Rohit amazed. “I have been
a part of other shows also but the way these guys are involved in every aspect
of shooting is really commendable. Costumes, sets, script research, dialogues,
everything is perfect,” he says.
Rohit,
who has been seen in shows such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahiin To
Hoga and Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, says that the industry has evolved over the
years. “It has really improved in the technical department as well as in the
post production of the shows. Also more and more mythological and historical
shows are being made now and VFX are the most important thing in that. The way
it is happening now, the shows look real and authentic,” he says.
The
latest episode of Social by Viu narrates how every clue that Prithvi and gang
comes across leads them to a bigger issue than the one they were already
dealing with - finding Veda.Even
as the case is under way - the gang has to decide their priorities - Prithvi
and Myra leave to follow a lead which might take them to Kamal, the guy who
seemed to know Veda’s whereabouts. Meanwhile, Neelesh and Chand have Chand’s
passport verification to tackle: an activity that will expose them to a police
verification - a dangerous thing to happen at this point.
Chaand
and Neelesh try to hide any evidence of Kamal’s presence on their terrace from
the policeman who has come for passport verification.
Prithvi
and Myra share a moment in the car, where it seems like sparks could soon start
flying. Upon reaching the location, they come across something they never
expected - Kamal’s dead body. They are in a state of shock since they never
expected their clues to lead them to a dead body.
Meanwhile,
Neelesh comes across a video online of a girl in the same monkey mask that
Prithvi had put on to grab the attention of the cops. Confused, he wonders who
the girl is and why was she reflecting the sentiments of the CtrlFVeda's social
media page? Doubtful about this mystery girl's intentions, the gang sets out to
find her.
Is
the girl behind the monkey mask a friend or a foe?
2017 has proved that ‘content is king’. Content is today defining box office success. CALL FOR FUN ,the Bollywood film works on this very formula – of contemporary and novel content. The trailer launched while the film will release nationally on 6th October 2017 with music being helmed by well-known composer Lalit Pandit.
Produced by Filmquest, Call For Fun scripted and directed by theatre veteran Janak Toprani, regarded by many as the master of comedies, will launch 9 newcomers including a villain this year, a bold and praiseworthy endeavour that mostly big names like YRF, KJO dare to do. The film is a screwball comedy film that also addresses socio-psychological issues faced by the millennial generation who believe in the motto – speed is the need, in a fun filled light hearted fashion.
The new starcast includes Zaan Khan, Shubhangi Mehrotra, CharuAsopa, Prashant Kanaujia, Aashish Gade, Priyanka Arya, Swagata Naik Prasad Shikhare and LineshFanse.
Director & Co-Producer of the film Janak Toprani states, “The starcast are people we have carefully picked, over a period of one year, depending on the characters they are to portray. They physically fit the characters perfectly as I believe that right casting wins 50% of the battle. The fresh talent is backed by a strong technical team that includes three national award winners.”
Producer of the film Hardik Patel elaborates, “I saw vast potential in backing a project that is not run-of-the-mill in the typical sense. Janak has successfully launched new faces in theatre and will do complete justice in launching newcomers on the 70mm screen. He has an eye to spot discerning talent.”
Lead actor of the film Zaan Khan of MTV Splitsvilla fame excitedly adds on, “The film is a roller coaster ride that is a total paisa vasool masala entertainer loaded with humour. Italso raises an issue that is pertinent to today’s youth whose lives revolve around the cell phone. We have thousands of friends on FB and are on so many whatsapp groups, yet today we find more and more people prone to loneliness and depression. The content is totally original, and relatable. We are certain it will strike a chord with the audience.”
Call For Fun also features theatre funnyman Bharat Dabholkar and Parmeet Sethi in supporting roles. The script deals with an edgy, coming of age laughathon revolving around the escapades of a young boy who takes over the reins of his father’s business and faces a vortex of misadventures - mafia threats to client losses. In characteristic over ambitious, high adrenalin, youth style he ends up in a series of misadventures, only to come out victorious and in the process gain some real life experiences.
Janak Toprani - a chartered accountant, company secretary, and lawyer turned director-producer with a diploma in film making from Leeds University, UK; has successfully directed over 30 critically acclaimed plays, some of which were selected for the Prithvi Theatre Festival and the Indian National Theatre Festival. His last comedy – Scam Bam Thank You M’am was a runaway hit. He has produced and directed several documentaries/ corporate films, television shows and commercials. This Fulbright and British Council scholarship winner, has also done a short stint with Vidhu Vinod Chopra. His theatre experience, along with his knowledge of film techniques together with his financial and business background gives him an advantage of delivering a content rich product which will appeal to both the classes and the mas
