Karaoke World Championships India'17

The Mumbai City Finale round of the Karaoke World Championships India, was held at The Play, Lower Parel. Spotted at the do were Savio D'Sa, DJ Hardik, Merlin D'Souza, Caralisa Monteiro, Sai Gundewar, Brian Rub, Simran Ahujah, Mario Andrade and Glynis Luan Simoes among others. The evening was indeed an eventful one with the participants setting the stage afire with their incredible songs and with DJ Hardik, the Official DJ and Entertainment Curator for Karaoke World Championships India 2017, belting out some of his popular tracks, that kept the audience tap their feet till wee hours of the morning. Director Sandeep Modi's Marathi Film ‘CHUMBAK’- is the OPENING FILM at Marathi Talkies MAMI Today

Swanand Kirkire, two times National award winner popular lyrics writer plays a full-fledged lead for the first time in director Sandeep Modi’s Marathi Film CHUMBAK. Chumbak is slated to be the opening film at Marathi Talkies of MAMI 2017 and is expected to have the prominent Bollywood personalities for this screening. Narain S Kumar who is closely associated with Subhash Kapoor of Jolly LLB fame forays into Marathi film industry with his debut Marathi film “CHUMBAK” as producer. 

“Chumbak” directed by National Award Winning Ad-filmmaker Sandeep Modi, stars Swanand Kirkire along with 15year old Pune boy Sahil Jadhav. Director Sandeep Modi, graduate from FTII, has assisted noted film-makers like Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Ashutosh Gowariker apart from being the associate director on Ram Madhvani's film NEERJA. 

CHUMBAK is a slice of life drama about the relationship between these two damned opposites, a 41year old who believes the world is as innocent as he himself, and a 14 year old who believes the world is as cunning as the one that fleeced him. Fifteen-year-old Baalu cleans tables at a restaurant in Mumbai. His dream is to have his own sugar cane stand and hoping to make the money quickly, he invests in a dubious scheme. Unfortunately, he loses all his savings. A bitter Baalu decides he’s going to con the world since it doesn’t value his honesty and hard work. So Baalu sets up his own scam, but when the only person to fall for it is an earnest, mentally-challenged man, he must choose between his dream and his humanity.

Speaking on the film, Producer Narain S Kumar said, “It is a coming of age story of this poor kid, Baalu who is on the verge of making the choices in life, till he meets Prasanna, a mentally slow man! Thrown on a roller coaster ride of circumstances together, Baalu find himself with the same dilemma again. Will the attraction of his dream make him sell his soul? Or will the pull of his conscience and Prasanna make him the man he once wanted to be? CHUMBAK is journey of these two opposites.” 

Chumbak is Written by Saurabh Bhave of Marathi Films - Taryenche Bhait & Haapus fame.   DOP  is Rangarajan Ramabadran an FTII Graduate and a well known name in Ads who won accolades for his first Marathi film “Happy Journey”. Costumes are by Sachin Lovlekar known for his work in Marathi Films as Court, Killa, Half Ticket, Dombivali Fast and Hindi Films as Pan Singh Tomar, Nil Battey Sannata, Madaari, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Laal Rang.Art Direction is by Prashant Bidkar of Marathi Films – Killa, Deool, Ek Hazarachi Note fame.Chumbak is Edited by Chandrashekhar Prajapati who has been associated with hit Hindi Films  as Jolly LLB 2, Piku, Vicky Donor, Madras Café, Bhootnath Returns, Nil Battey Sannata etc.Sound Design is by Allwin Rego Marathi Films Ventilator  & Hindi films  Fitoor, Kahaani, Rocky Handsome, Queen, Shaandaar to name a few. Music is by  Saket  Kanitkar .

After Gauahar Khan now Hina Khan starts supporting Shilpa Shinde

Shilpa Shinde's journey in Bigg Boss so far  has not been an easy one. The popular on screen Bhabiji is trying her level best to sustain in the show. Last week Shilpa was verbally attacked  by co contestant Hina Khan when Shilpa was not being able to read a Bigg Boss task letter. In a turn of events, this week Hina was actually supporting Shilpa. In an argument with Vikas Gupta Hina realised that Shilpa is actually doing the right thing when she was arguing with Vikas. It was evident that Hina was irked by Vikas's attitude and also told him,'It was right of Shilpa to behave with Vikas like that.' Shilpa is certainly one person in the house who is slowly slowly winning people's hearts. 

Hiten Tejwani the king of the Bigg Boss house

Popular actor Hiten Tejwani who won many hearts with his powerful portrayal of so many popular characters on television is currently inside the Bigg Boss house and playing the game very nicely. In the current week’s luxury budget task, Hiten has become the King of the house and Arsi Khan and Shilpa Shinde are his queens. Hiten who is probably the most mature man in the house gave a task to Sapna Choudhury and asked Sapna her to give a leg massage to Arsi Khan. Initially Sapna refused to do the task but after Hiten's intervention she did it. Later on Hiten told Sapna that he is proud of her as she obeyed his instruction. He said,"I am proud of you that you listened to my instruction so I can show to Bigg Boss that King's word is respected by all." So far Hiten is keeping his cool and patience and managing everything so well, he has a long way to go in the house.
