Clothes are not the problem, it’s the mentality: Prachi Tehlan

Even though the world is progressing, mindsets of certain people are still stuck in the Stone Age, and actors become the easy targets of such regressive mentalities. Slut-shaming is one such issue that is faced every now and then. From Deepika Padukone to Priyanka Chopra, Sana Sheikh, Esha Gupta etc., everybody has fought back situations where they were trolled for their attires.
Prachi Tehlan, who is portraying a ‘tomboy’ in her ongoing show ‘Ikyawann took the podium to express her viewpoint. “Passing judgments on what a person wears has always been disturbing for me. While playing the character of Susheel in my show, I got a better understanding of how such unpleasant and unwelcoming comments influence a girl’s mindset. Nobody has the authority to bash others for their dress sense,” said Prachi.
Talking about any bad experience she had, Prachi is thankful that she never dealt with anything as such. “Since the day I was born (3 October 1993) I never encountered infuriating personalities of these kinds. No matter what I opted for, my parents supported me thoroughly. From being a sports person to an actor, I was always backed by my closed ones. And this is the reason why I can confidently make decisions for myself today. The crux of the matter is, nobody’s opinion counts if your closed ones don’t have a problem with what you do, what you say or what you wear.”
Referring to the Padmavati actor Ranveer Singh-who was trolled for his attires- Prachi added, “Even the guys in our industry face such meaningless criticisms. This clearly reflects that issue is not about girls or boys, what to wear and what not to, rather it’s the people who have a built-in habit of judging others for no reason.”
Well, that’s similar to the attitude we get to see of our very beloved celebrities. Say it Deepika, Priyanka, or Esha Gupta, all these have either chosen to remain unfazed by the criticism or have wittingly hit back at the trolls.

In today’s time, celebrities are ideals of our society and hence bear the responsibility to set the right example for general public. It’s good to see them as people who are confident in themselves.

Broadway style musical Balle Balle

Ten Reasons To Watch ‘Balle Balle’

Wizcraft has always brought innovation to entertainment and given the world some of its best experiences and this time, they are here to entertain the hell out of you with a Broadway style musical titled ‘Balle Balle’, which is a humorous take on the larger-than-life Indian wedding. However, if you are not convinced yet about watching the musical extravaganza, we bring to you ten reasons to watch ‘Balle Balle’…
A Wizcraft Production: Wizcraft is India’s leading media and entertainment company, dedicated to showcasing its expertise on the world stage. Having pioneered and developed India’s biggest entertainment brand IIFA that has taken Indian Cinema and culture to the world, and conceptualized some of the grandest events globally including the 50 Years of Indian Independence, the 30 Years of Mauritian Independence, the 10 years of the South African Freedom Struggle, the Commonwealth Games Opening and Closing ceremonies in Delhi as well as the Handover ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and the prestigious International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards & Weekend for 15 years in over 12 countries, Wizcraft has contributed towards brand building for India across the world. Pioneers of India’s first live Broadway style Bollywood Musical show, Wizcraft has been creating original content for theatrical productions since 2010, starting with Zangoora and Jhumroo at Kingdom of Dreams.
Broadway-Style Theatrical Extravaganza: Indian theatre-goers have seldom seen Broadway-style plays in India and the makers of ‘Balle Balle’ have come up with a musical and theatrical experience, which is entertaining for even those, who have not been exposed to such entertainment.
Live Singing By All Actors: Another reason why ‘Balle Balle’ should be on your ‘to do’ list this weekend in Mumbai is the fact that it features live singing by all the actors in the play and it is a sheer delight for the viewers to see actors break into a song right there on the stage! The two-hour spectacle features 48 talented stars singing live as they simultaneously entertain the audiences with their phenomenal performances, dazzling costumes, breathtaking visuals and sizzling choreography.
Fabulous Choreography: This was the first time I had witnessed a musical play and truth be told, I was blown away by the sheer talent on the stage. The choreography is immaculate and awe-inspiring. It is easy to imagine actors dancing in films on the silver screen where there are dozens of retakes, but to watch it live right before your eyes is a different experience altogether, which should not be missed at all.
Wholesome Family Entertainment: ‘Balle Balle’ has humour, romance, drama and a big fat Indian wedding… what else does one want? In terms of sheer and wholesome entertainment for the entire family, ‘Balle Balle’ is total paisa vasool…
Crazy, Whacky, Lovable Characters: ‘Balle Balle’ has everything that will remind you of why Indian weddings are fun to attend. There is the doting grandma, the strict Papaji, the giggly sister, the whacky ‘bro’ of the bride, the hot aunt, the ‘jugaadu’ wedding planner and many more characters you will absolutely fall in love with.
A Treat For Bollywood Fans: If you love Bollywood songs, ‘Balle Balle’ will be like buffet full of your favourite dishes! There is a Bollywood song for every occasion and to watch the actors sing (and sing damn well, let me add) them live on stage, is an absolute treat for Bollywood buffs out there. The musical play has 25 iconic Bollywood songs to warm the cockles of your heart.
Superb Technical Aspects: Lavish and ‘larger than life’ are the two words that come to mind when you watch ‘Balle Balle’ and the visuals and special effects used in the play are something that will stay on your mind days after you have seen the play. The amount of talent and hard work that has gone behind the technical aspects of the play, be it the set design or the costumes or the lighting, is absolutely admirable.
Astute Direction: Viraf Sarkari has put together a huge cast with terrific staging that all comes together seamlessly at the Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir Theatre in Bandra. The action shifts from one staging to another at breakneck pace and there is hardly any lag, with the projection screen and light design creating a spectacle as the players take turns to entertain the audiences against varied backdrops and situations.
Destination Theatre in Mumbai Western Suburbs: While the NCPA has been the chief destination theatre in South Mumbai, with its Jamshed Bhabha Theatre hosting all premium concerts and plays, Mumbai has not had a permanent venue of this scale in the Western Suburbs, that can host a play for a long sustained run on a magnificent stage with great acoustics and seating. All other theatre venues have been attached to colleges or other establishments and have often fallen short on multiple levels; Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir is a grand theatre venue destined to be the entertainment centre of the suburbs in Mumbai, more so centrally located at Bandra in today’s times of city expansion, easily accessible by South Mumbai and Suburbs both, and a grand entry in Mumbai’s cultural and theatre world.
