ALT Balaji’s “The Test Case” cast witnessed in New Delhi for promotions

Ekta Kapoor’s digital venture ALT Balaji have shown up some promising Hindi Web Series and one of them is Director Vinay Waikul and Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘The Test Case’. Therefore, the cast of the web series Nimrat Kaur, Anoop Soni, Atul Kulkarni, director Vinay Waikul and the Chief marketing officer of ALT Balaji Manav Sethi was witnessed in New Delhi for the promotions. The amazing team interacted with media peeps at the press conference held in Hotel Le Meridien.

‘The Test Case’ a web series which reveals the story of the first woman combat officer portrayed by Nimrat Kaur, who struggles to carve out her own identity in a male-dominated world. Whereas, while interacting with media the leading lady Nimrat shared her experience, she said, “It wasn’t an easy task to put together this story. We tried to keep it real. It was really difficult for us. And for me it was truly one of the biggest blessings to be the part of this project. We had a responsibility to portray the right message to our society, therefore none of us was acting for this series, and we gave our heart to it. This role was really challenging for me not only physically but mentally as well.”

On the other hand, Anoop Soni stated, “For me this show is a breath of fresh air, after a long time I am back with such a role. When this show was offered to me, I didn’t take much time to say yes. And it was a pleasure to work with such a hardworking team, especially Nimrat & Atul. I had a great time with everyone.” The other lead of the series Atul Kulkarni also shared his thoughts for the same, he said, “Being a man it’s a great opportunity to be the part of this web series. Yes, there is no difference in male and females, this is a message which we want to portray in parts through this project. Not only the main leads but the entire team really worked hard together. I would really request the viewers, specially the females to go through with this series, the character of Nimrat will definitely motivate them.”

Well, ‘The Test Case’ also stars, Atul Kulkarni, Rahul Dev, Manit Joura and Akshay Oberoi in lead roles along with Juhi Chawla in a guest appearance. The upcoming web series is set to be available for viewing on 26 January 2018 on the Indian Republic Day.

Saiyami Kher spotted at Mumbai Marathon 2018

Saiyami Kher, who made a stellar debut with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya alongside Harshvardhan Kapoor, is fast emerging as a celebrity sports icon for the youth. The talented actress, who successfully completed a full marathon two years ago, was seen runing the half marathon (21km) this year too after months of planning and perseverance.While running a marathon is no easy feat, being a sportsperson or having played sports often while growing up is an obvious advantage for Saiyami. “Running has always been an integral part of my training besides the sports which I keep playing often,” Saiyami informs.

While most people would start with a half marathon before moving to a full marathon, Saiyami thinks differently. “I started training for it while shooting for Mirzya in August in Ladakh before I ran in January. While I used to run an average of 8-10km in Mumbai, when I was in Ladakh, I used to run after shoot and obviously, because of low oxygen, I used to struggle and run only for 3-4km. When I came back to Mumbai, I immediately started running for 16-18km without a problem. That is what altitude training does to your body,” she adds. 

The young actress took help from her friend Shyamal Vallabhji, a physiotherapist and a marathon runner to chart her progress and push her to follow her set goals

Sudha Chandran to be the voice for the kids fantasy show Rudra Ke Rakshak

The extremely talented and renowned actress of the film and television industry - Sudha Chandran who has left no stone unturned to give her best performance and entertain the audience with her exemplary acting skills, is all set to lend her voice for the show Rudra Ke Rakshak. Her unique personality and outstanding delivery of roles can’t be praised enough. Keeping in mind her distinctive voice texture, she has been aptly chosen for the new character – Spider Queen.

The kids’ fantasy show which has been highly appreciated by the masses for its enthralling content will see a twist in the plot in the upcoming episodes. A source close to the production house informs us about the new developments, “The story will see a turnover where the Rudra Ke Rakshak gang is in trouble due to an evil spider queen who traps the kids for her wicked motifs. Sudha Chandran will be the voice behind the spider queen. She will start shooting for the same soon and the episode is slated to go on-air early next week.”

Speaking on being a part of the show, the actress quipped, “I like taking up exceptional characters. Throughout my acting career by far, I have chosen roles that are not only challenging but unique at the same time. Being the voice behind a spider itself sounds very exceptional and hence I am excited for this project.”

All eyes on Manmarziyaan

While their first-time collaboration, Mukkabaaz which garnered rave reviews continues to impress the cinegoers in its second week, Aanand L Rai and Anurag Kashyap have decided to take their association to the next level by joining hands once again for their next venture, Manmarziyaan.

Manmarziyan starring Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal is all set to go on floors in February. Anurag wanted to finish Mukkabaaz before prepping for this Film and is all geared to shoot the film in Punjab in the fading winters. The film is said to be a project close to Rai’s heart who has ambitious plans around it’s making with special mention to the music which will see the exciting combination of Anurag Kashyap and Amit Trivedi once again.

Aanand L Rai says, “Mukkabaaz has been a great and fruitful journey and now we are very excited for Manmarziyaan which is a complex and beautiful love story, with very relatable human emotions. I am happy that the pieces fit for the perfect cast to come together. Anurag has great energies and I’m very confident with him as the captain of this ship.’

Anurag Kashyap adds, “I have enjoyed working with Aanand L Rai immensely. He is a director’s delight since he gives you all the creative liberty and I’m looking forward to collaborate with the master storyteller again with Manmarziyaan.”

5 things to watch out for in Prithvi Vallabh from the producer’s lense

Writers Galaxy Studio’s Anirudh Pathak will make his debut as a producer with Prithvi Vallabh airing tonight at 9.30 pm on Sony Originals. The producer identifies 5 things which makes Prithvi Vallabh stand out from the crowd.

1.       The content: We have usually seen a love saga of a hero and a heroine but seldom have we seen such a contrasting nature where the heroine is filled with revenge and the hero is in for peace. 3.       The sets: Prithvi Vallabh has 2 sets, Manyekhet and Malwa sets which are breathtaking beautiful and astonishing. Mr Chokkas Bharadwaj has done a fantastic job when it comes to set designing. The viewers will see larger than life kingdoms, the army of both kingdoms, lakes and palaces of the two dynasties.

4.       The African Giants: Prithvi Vallabh becomes the first show to use international artistes and warriors. The African men who are as tall as 7 foot have done a great job. From fight sequence with Prithvi Vallabh to leading the navy base for Mrinal (played by Sonarika Bhadoria), these people play a crucial role in showing the war sequence of Manyakhet kingdom

5.       The Outdoor shoot: To show the vastness of the 2 kingdoms the team of Prithvi Vallabh has shot extensively in outdoor locations near Mumbai. Acres of land have been hired to shoot the war sequence between the two armies of Manyakhet and Malwa kingdoms. The VFX put together have created visuals to look out for.
