Family Statement:

Khushi, Janhvi, Boney Kapoor and the entire Kapoor and Ayyappan families are deeply bereaved and shocked with the untimely loss of Sridevi Kapoor. Late Sridevi Kapoor passed away in Dubai, UAE, on Saturday February 24th.

We thank the film fraternity, media, fans of late Sridevi Kapoor and all the well-wishers for their prayers, support and sensitivity during our moment of immense grief. We request you to kindly join us in paying our last respect to a remarkable actor, beloved wife and loving mother.

Cosmetic surgery is not the only reason of superstar Sridevi's death: Dr. Monica Kapoor

The untimely death of megastar Sridevi due to a cardiac arrest took everyone into a shock. The 54-year old actress, who dominated the cinema in the 80s, went to Dubai to be a part of a family wedding. There have been widespread speculations about the unexpected death, with many experts and doctors alleging innumerable cosmetic surgeries that she underwent. 

Toxic doses of local anesthetic that are administered during the surgery are said to be the major cause behind sudden cardiac arrests. However, Dr. Monika Kapoor holds contradictory views about the same. Condemning the ideology that completely blames the surgery and medical treatments as the cause behind, Dr. Monika - who is a cosmetic surgeon herself, says, “Cosmetic surgeries could not be the only reason for someone’s sudden death. We can't blame medical procedures for such disaster, but the reason behind getting these cosmetic surgeries, i. e constant mental and social stress to look at their best could be blamed to an extent.” 

Elaborating further, she said, “If cosmetic surgeries were responsible for such death then, this could have happened long back in the past. Sridevi had undergone such surgeries in her early 40s as well.” 

Citing the example of Michael Jackson, Monika explained, “Prominent personalities like MJ underwent different cosmetic procedures and surgeries but nowhere in the world, surgical societies / medical societies blamed the cause of sudden death to these surgeries.” Dr. Monica also gave reference of other surgeries people undergo, and which are neither harmful. “People sometimes need multiple surgeries for tumour removal or for a complete cure, but that doesn't kill them. The constant social and mental stress to look picture perfect is the main culprit behind it and not these surgeries. So I believe the reason behind the surgeries I.e society or family pressure to maintain the status and profile, might have caused the sad demise of our the most iconic stars of all times.​   

Macao leads in Forbes Travel Guide 2018 with the most five-star hotels and restaurants

This year’s edition of Forbes Travel Guide made Macao the city with the most number of “five-star” hotels and restaurants, surpassing Paris.

Hotels - After last year giving the victory to both Paris and Macao, for its 2018 edition the five-star award given to 12 Macao hotels placed the city on the top of the list, followed by Paris with 10 hotels, London with nine and Hong Kong with eight.

The coveted top award was receive in Macao by Altira, Banyan Tree, Conrad, Encore, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, MGM, Nuwa (former Crown Towers), Star Tower (at Studio City), Wynn Macau, Wynn Palace and The Ritz-Carlton.

Several of hotels in Macao were multiple awardees of the five-star awards, namely Wynn Macau and Mandarin Oriental with six five-star awards each, for the hotel, the spa and four restaurants. While Nuwa received five, for the hotel, the spa and three restaurants, followed by Altira with four awards on the top category.

In addition, six hotels in Macao received the Forbes four-star award, in tie with last year, namely Galaxy, Grand Hyatt, JW Marriott, Okura, St. Regis Cotai Central and The Venetian.

Restaurants - Macao was also the most awarded city in restaurants category with a total of 12 restaurants receiving the five-star accolade, one more compare to last year, while nine restaurants in Hong Kong received the top award.

The list of five-star restaurants awarded in Macao: Aurora (Altira), Belon (Banyan Tree), Golden Flower (Encore), Il Teatro, Mizumi and Wing Lei (Wynn), Jade Dragon (City of Dreams), Shinji by Kanesaka, Sushi Mizumi, The Tasting Room (City of Dreams), Tenmasa and Vida Rica (Mandarin Oriental).

With four-stars appear the restaurants: Andrea, Lai Heen, Mizumi, Wing Lei Palace and SW Steakhouse (Wynn Palace), Pearl Dragon (Studio City), Robuchon au Dôme (Grand Lisboa), Terrazza (Galaxy), Ying (Altira) and Zi Yat Heen (Four Seasons).

Spas - In the spas chapter, Macao is represented with eight of the best spas in the world, located at Wynn Palace, Wynn Macau, Mandarin Oriental, Encore, Nuwa, The Ritz-Carlton, Banyan Tree and Altira.

Forbes lists five reasons to visit Macao on its 2018 guide: the Galaxy swimming pools complex, the emerging restaurant scene, the luxury shopping, Macau Grand Prix and the contact with local culture in Coloane village.

The five-star accolade was given by Forbes in 2018 to a total of 199 hotels, along with 64 restaurants and 60 spas around the world.

Veerey and Geet share an amazing chemistry off screen as well

The lead actors of the upcoming family entertainer Veerey Ki Wedding, Pulkit Samrat (Veerey) and Kriti Kharbanda (Geet) have already given a glimpse of their sizzling on screen chemistry to the audience after the launch of the trailer recently. The duo shares an undeniably amazing equation not only on screen but off screen as well. They will be seen opposite each other for the first time in Veerey Ki Wedding. The audience is already in love with the duo and are eagerly waiting to see them together in the film. According to the actors, they first bonded on their common love for food on the sets.  Being true blue Punjabis, the actors share a passion for food and are always found sharing a bite of scrumptious snacks during breaks and in between shots as well!  They compliment each other very well on and off screen as well. Both Kriti and Pulkit say that they signed the movie just because the other was being cast opposite them and have also said that they will surely be excited to work with each other in the future as well. 

Make My Day Entertainments, A Panorama Studios release, Veerey Ki Wedding is produced by Rajat Bakshi, Parmod Gomber and co-produced by Chandan Bakshi and Karan Gomber. The movie is all set to hit the theaters this Holi, on 2nd March
